Room was very big and bed very comfortable. I'm 5"7' and the shower was a bit low (not a big deal) Very slow elevators. But other than that. The views were great. The breakfast was very good. And the valet and staff was very kind. The room is luxurious with an alright sink. If I could, I would rate it 4.5 out of 5. I didn't want to round up to a five because of the slow elevators and low showers. Collapse

The hotel is located in a nice area of Philadelphia, walkable to a lot of restaurants, bars, and museums. The elevators were under construction during our stay, which meant that often you had to wait 20 minutes to catch an available elevator (literally- we timed it). The rooms were fine and the beds were very comfortable. The layout of the rooms was a bit puzzling- the bedroom and bathrooms are VERY small, while the living area is huge. They could have reduced the space of the living area to provide more room in the bathroom, especially since our room was supposed to sleep 3-4 people. Also our kitchen sink did not work. Collapse

We were here to celebrate our anniversary and chose this hotel for it's spectacular balcony views. Although the hotel does not advertise balconies as one of their amenities, the pictures definitely makes it appear that you have that awesome feature. Not the case!! The sliding glass door is welded shut "for your safety." No, it's welded shut so the hotel doesn't have to pay for the maintenance to ensure the balconies are safe for guests. Then we had pre-ordered a cheese tray and some drinks for our room that were not there when we checked-in and when i called room service to inquire I was told that I never ordered anything. Apparently the front desk and room service have zero communication b/c when I discussed it with the front desk the following morning i was told that delivery was attempted twice while we were not in the room. Fair enough, at least they didn't try to convince me that I never ordered it to begin with. Also, all the reviews you see on the elevators are not kidding!! Most of the time we used the working elevators the wait was less than five minutes but during checkout time it was horrendous! We waited over 20 minutes and after the third one opened completely full we huffed it down the 21 floors. And finally, i just checked my bank statement and they have charged me twice for our stay. The first has the cheese plate on it and the second charge has it removed as they agreed to do for us. Waiting for a call back now to have $374 refunded. Collapse
Filthy rooms and slow elevators

Following the 20 minute wait for an elevator (hotel only has 2 of 3 tiny elevators in operation for a 30+ story building with no service elevator), we arrived in our room. It had barely been cleaned from the guests before with crumbs, hair and spills on the floor. The towels were filthy. We had to have housekeeping come twice. The wait for elevators to go up and down made you want to leave your room and not come back until bedtime. Frequently elevators would stop with no room inside. This compounded the problem because the many useless stops made them go even slower. One of the three elevators was closed for repairs and the staff also used the passenger elevators for housekeeping carts. Do not stay here unless you’re ready to wait and be frustrated. Plenty of hotels in philly. Collapse
Aging Embassy Suites hotel, not the best arrival experience

Challenges with this experience, before arriving... Not sure what caused all of my issues with Hilton Honors, my arrival process, the new digital key system via the app -- but before ever stepping foot into the room. I made the reservations months ago, then recently received an email reminding me of my reservation plus the "Digital Key" feature. I went on to download the app and log in, only to find that my reservation wasn't loading in the app. I called Hilton and advised the error days ago, only to find on the day of arrival (yesterday) that the app still wasn't updated and I couldn't use the digital key feature. I proceeded to the front desk to check in, and my reservation for some reason had been completely screwed up, the app still wasn't updated, and that I couldn't check in -- it was just about 5pm and the quoted check-in time was 4:00pm. After all this, I was finally able to check in, use the app to unlock the door -- which is a great new piece of technology. The front desk male was just barely friendly and was borderline rude: March 9, 2018, 5pm. I asked for him to find out what caused the avalanche of errors and still haven't heard from him. The room decor is nice and modern, bed was comfortable, WiFi is strong, meeting space is great. Gripes: the shower curtain is too long on the inside of the tub and caused a slip, the shower head is low (and I'm not exactly tall), there was only enough creamer for two cups of coffee, the breakfast experience was jumbled and tight -- but I must say the staff was extremely kind.
