I reserved a room at a discounted rate and on the day of check-in was upgraded to a premium view room. It pays to be a Hilton Honors member and maintain gold status or higher. You get treated like royalty.

Overall I would say our experience here was very good. I'll start by saying that we arrived very late like 230ish in the morning. Upon check-in everything went smooth and we hurriedly dragged our luggage to our room for a nights rest. This room was far from meeting our expectations. Upon entry there was a long hallway that ushered us to a bathroom then to a small room with a couch and finally to the bedroom. The bedroom was small and crowded. We booked a falls view room and this view was not what we would consider a falls view. Instead of the falls we stared at a large IHOP sign. The next morning we realized we had to look sharply to the left to see the falls. We often stay at Hilton hotels and this was by far not what we expected. The next morning we requested a room change, which they granted. When we received our new room keys they gave us more breakfast vouchers to reflect our new room number. The rest of our stay was great! Until check out... While looking over the bill we noticed a charge for $31.83 for "MGR RECEPTION". It was explained that we signed to receive additional drink vouchers. We explained that we did not sign or request any drink vouchers. He (manager) insisted that we did and he walked away as we continued looking at other charges. A few minutes later he returned stating that he couldn't find where we signed for the drink vouchers and he removed the charge. We noticed another a charge labeled "TOURISM IMPROVEMENT FEE". I asked if this was a local tax and he said no. He explained that it's a hotel fee that we agreed to pay when we made our reservations, and that it can't be removed. Again, we explained we didn't agree to pay that fee and requested that it be removed. I was charged this fee twice a day; (1) with the parking fee and (2) with the room charge, which totaled nearly $175.00. We retrieved our reservation email and showed the manager that there is no "TOURISM IMPROVEMENT FEE". He pointed to the charge labeled "SERVICE CHARGE" and said that was the fee we were being charged. At the end of the day we were unable to have them remove the fee. The hotel needs to be more transparent with their customers and label the fees as they are. Instead they hide a tourism fee under another charge then tell you about it upon check-out; that is if you notice it. Collapse

The view of Niagara Falls for my window on the 28th floor was spectacular. If you need something contact Troy the bellman. Do not bring any old 50s because the hotel will not exchange them too much counterfeiting.

Frist of all, the view from our room was great. I couldn't ask for a better view. The room was nice - not the nicest I have ever been in but definitely nice and the layout at these hotels is great for families. The complaint I have is that you think you are paying one price and then you realize, you are paying a lot for parking (where you have to get your own car), there is a the "optional" tax which they have decided isn't optional at this hotel and drives the price of the room up at least $20/night if not more. Also, all the places in the hotel accept US money but give Canadian change. I know this shouldn't be a big complaint but of all the places we visited and ate on our trip, the hotel was the only place that this happened. It seems odd that every other restaurant and attraction accommodated by a hotel did not. It is close to the falls but a walk to the boat tours and the main tourist area. We liked the quiet so we didn't mind the walk. The pool is just ok - not overly clean but ok. The buffet was ok but not great and was very, very busy. In summary, I don't think we would stay here again but for the first time to Niagara falls, it did have a great view and a nice location. If you can, park at the casino as you have to ride to get your car anyway. Collapse
