Our first visit here several years ago was not good and so when our travel agent booked us here were were uncertain. Things were better from the start, check in was easy (there was a line, this IS a busy place) but staff was friendly and attentive. Our room was lovely, (I love Embassy Suite’s set up!) and clean. All was in good repair and working order. There is a breakfast but it is so crowded it is nearly impossible to find seating or find food! I would bypass the breakfast it just feels like it could be handled better, maybe add another hour onto it so the crowds can find a time that is not so busy. The Managers Reception in the evening is much the same. A generous wonderful idea but with only one person (friendly and nice as he is!) the line is long and blocks traffic. There is a huge (Beautiful)area in the atrium that maybe could be used in a better manner for the Reception and the breakfast. I do recommend this property! We will be back! Collapse

We decided to spend a few nights before a cruise, and this hotel was near the airport and the port. It was reasonable, but not cheap. The hotel is very pretty and you enter into a beautiful atrium with waterfalls. The rooms are all around the outside, with two elevators. There is a free breakfast each morning with omelet chefs and anything you would want. There is a 2 hour "happy hour" each evening with light snacks and unlimited cocktails, wine, and beer, also free. The pool and hot tub are perfect. The people who work here are very professional and friendly. The rooms are all suites, quite large and comfortable. They have fridge & microwave and coffee maker. However, while clean, the decor is a bit dated. No safes in room! The "balcony" was about a foot wide and painted shut. Some outlets were not working. Only soap, shampoo, and lotion are provided. There is a gift shop which is small, but has anything you could ever need. So when hubby spilled red wine on white sneakers, they had bleach and dishwashing liquid, which saved the day. Walking distance to many restaurants, since the one on the property has a limited menu. Collapse

Just returned home yesterday from a quick 3 day getaway with friends at the Embassy Suites Fort Lauderdale. Upon arrival we walked in and found the hotel to be quite pretty. The front desk was not busy at all and we waited for one of the three staff to acknowledge us. It took awhile and then finally one of them said, we will be with you in a bit. I use to work in a hotel so could not understand how three staff members all at a terminal were so busy and not one was able to assist the only customer in line Finally, one called us over and it was 10:00am so we could not check in which we were aware that 4:00pm was the check in time. I had done a pre-check-in on line for a room on the second floor. She said the room I picked would not be ready until 4:00pm but if they can assign me another room it would be available much sooner so I said go ahead and assign us a new room. They took my cell and were going to text us when ready. It's now 2:30pm and have not heard anything. I went back to the hotel to see if our room was ready and another girl informed me in a bit of an attitude that checkin was at 4pm so would have to wait. Why change my room and tell me we can get in early when in fact we could not. We did receive a text a 3pm though and headed up to settle in. The room was nice but did find it a bit dated and areas of the carpet were not vacuumed. It had a coffee maker and fridge so that was a nice. Each day you receive a free breakfast which offered a nice variety and much more than a continental breakfast It was so busy though that it took awhile to have your eggs made to order. The toaster did not brown our bread so we had to put it back in again 3 times. We had to ask for peanut butter and pancakes as both containers were empty. The pool area was very nice as well but there was construction noise throughout the day. Not sure what they were working on. They offer an evening complimentary reception with drinks and light snacks. That was a nice perk and we enjoyed it but be prepared if the hotel is busy you will wait quite awhile in line to receive your free drink. I am giving this hotel an average rating mainly based on the front desk. Being in the hospitality industry for almost 30 years, I was quite surprised how unfriendly the front desk staff were no matter what time I went to ask a question about the business centre or directions. In fact, we asked one staff member where the closest Beal's store was and her response "I don't shop in places like that" bothered us quite a bit. If she didn't know the answer she could have asked someone. The front desk is a key department in any hotel. They are your first contact other than the valet or doorman. If you don't make an excellent impression at first it can set the mood for the rest of your stay especially when the attitudes don't change. Not sure if it was a busy week or what the problem was but that is the area that bothered us the most. One thing I want to mention is printing of your boarding pass. We did this the night before we left and when we brought them to the airport they would not accept them because the ink was faded so we had to get out of one line and head to check in a second time. Would I stay again? Not too sure. Collapse

We went on a cruise from September 30th 2017 for 7 days. We parked our vehicle in the parking lot that the hotel rents out to Airport Parking Inc for the duration of the cruise. When we returned we found out that OUR VEHICLE HAD BEEN STOLEN. The hotel takes no responsibility although they benefit from renting out their land and they know it is convenient for their customers who are cruising (and there are loads of them) to park there. When we reported to the police, he said that he had been to the hotel two weeks prior over vehicle theft. We asked hotel staff if they were aware of vehicles being stolen and they said yes and mentioned break in as well and that they did not like parking their vehicles there. We spoke to a police officer who patrols there over the weekend and he told us that they are aware of a group of thieves out of Miami who are hitting areas and taking vehicles back to Miami and dismantling them for sale of parts, or putting them on ships. This hotel is really failing here. They have no surveillance cameras and are not providing protection for their customers Collapse
