The hotel is very clean and well looked after. The staff are all very friendly especially the waiters and bar staff, who are the same, they all work very hard. The meals are very nice and plenty of variation. The breakfasts were very good. Lovely salads not really enough vegs. Never saw any entertainment in the daytime and the evening ones are ok. A group one night was good and the lady singer, but apart from them not much really. It came on at 8.45pm and finished about 9.25pm so not on long and then that was it. Very disappointed with that. The rooms are really nice, a bit dated perhaps but very clean. Clean towels every day too. BBC and ITV on the television if you want that. Lovely and quiet round the smaller pool, and nicer beds. Definitely would go again. Collapse

March 10th-17th After 1/2 hr coach transfer from the airport we checked in effortlessly. The rooms are in blocks and ours was near to everything. Big room / diner kitchen, well equipped for people not on the all inclusive. Kettle, coffee maker, microwave etc. Bathroom huge, great powerful shower over bath and hair dryer. Comfy beds, pull out double bed and a sofa. No air con but a ceiling fan that was so wonky we feared it would fly off the ceiling and the noise!!...You couldn't hear yourself think! Balcony spacious with table and chairs, and a hanging clothes dryer. Bring a few pegs, it gets windy! We looked out onto the parade of shops out front.( The duty free perfume shop on the front has loads of offers on, we saved loads, cheap tobacco prices also). The shops were not a problem, but there was a kids club above, filled with birthday parties and screaming kids. We were usually getting ready to go out at these times, but god forbid if you wanted a siesta! Pool towels €15 deposit, safe €16 per week with €10 back on handing in the keys. Free wifi, just ask at reception and you'll get a user name/password on a piece of paper. DO NOT loose this piece of paper, the wifi is so hit and miss, you'll need it to keep logging in! The all inclusive starts at 11:00am and we were by the pool one day and the barman was setting up at 10:45, so we asked for a glass of water ( it was knocking on 30 degrees by this point!) and he said we couldn't cos it didn't start for 15 mins! The all inclusive ends at 23:00, but by this time, we'd usually had enough. The subeds around the pool are chained up on a night and unlocked at 10am. This is no bad thing, it stops the early morning sunbed towellers! The pool area is clean and tidy and the pool was cold, but ok once you'd been in and given it a stir! There is a smaller pool by reception, don't know about those beds tho, we never went. Outside reception was a board advertising the days /times of the daytime events, but no place, so we never participated cos we never found out where it was happening! There were evening entertainment acts on every night, most pretty good. There are limited all inclusive cocktails on the list, but they'd make you what you wanted, and good measures! Take a cardi or coat for on a night, it can drop cold with a breeze. Special shout out to Alberto ( my superman! ). Javier was great, had an amazing memory too! And Pedro pleasing on the eye In fact, all the staff we had dealings with were smashing The breakfast was 7:00-10:00, lunch 13:00-15:00 and dinner 18:30-21:30. There's plenty of food choices for everyone at every meal time. The snack bar at the pool bar was open from 13:00-15:00, and you had to pay for this. Why the snack bar wasn't open after breakfast and before lunch, I don't know. There's a lovely little market outside the hotel on Thursdays and Saturdays and plenty of shops about. Fanabe beach is outta the hotel, turn left, Duque beach turn right, bout 15 mins walk. All in all a great place to stay, the staff are what make this hotel great and it would be a pleasure to return! Keep up the good work! Hasta el año que viene!! Collapse

Me and my partner stayed here for a week at the beginning of march. The hotel is lovely and clean and has excellent facilities. Our room was overlooking the smaller pool and got sun most of the day. The cleaners seemed to come in everyday and everyone around the hotel was very helpful and friendly. We were very impressed with the restaurant. There were lots of variety for breakfast, lunch and dinner and there seemed to be different things every day. The hotel is in a good location, close to shops, restaurants/ bars and there are a few beaches a short walk away. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again! Collapse

Travelled with grown up daughter and 12 year old grandson - was dropped off at locked gates intercom to get in ... Uphill drag to reception ... Manager did offer us a meal as was 9.30 pm but we declined as wanted to explore area and eat out. Room was block I bathroom a bit dated but ok ... Lovely large balcony ... Cooking facilities including toaster, microwave, juicer , coffee machine and two ringed hob ... Couldn't really fault it ... Balcony overlooked side of shopping centre but not a problem to us as got the sun from 9ish till 6ish. We proceeded to go to the gate we arrived at and after some time we worked out how to get out it was like being in prison ... Tried using swipe and eventually the gate clicked open ... Then the fun started if you are into mountain climbing on a slippy surface you would do well it was a vertical incline up this hill as we sought out somewhere to eat ... Luckily we met a local lady who pointed us in the right direction back down the hill ... So steep we walked down it like penguins gripping onto the wall I am not kidding ... We found that we had been dropped at the back entrance and if we had gone out the front entrance it was just at the side of our apartment (no hills). I was nervous before we arrived about security as a previous reviewer had been broken into on the ground floor whilst they slept and I took comfort that at least the gates are locked ...WRONG ... right opposite our apartment is a public gym in the grounds of the hotel and the gate apart from 2 nights of our weeks stay was open night and day... The following day was my daughters birthday we stayed at hotel watched entertainment and had a few drinks around the bar ... We met two couples and had a laugh not realising that is was 1.20 a.m we are not party animals by any means but a security guy shone a torch at us telling us we need to leave ... Obviously someone had complained fair enough but when I asked rep the following day what is a respectable time to leave I was told it was an elderly and family hotel ... I felt like a yob and was told 12 was acceptable but it depended on complaints so could be earlier ... So unless you want to drink in silence (might I add the bar closes at 11 for all inclusive and 12 if you paid .... Cocktails are not part of all inclusive .... No other options available to sit and chill either apartment or leave the complex ... Like the title it is definitely not my cup of tea but if you like to be tucked up in bed at 12 you will love it ... Food was ok plenty of choice but I am used to RIU all inclusive which is totally different and after this well worth paying extra for ... We spent a small fortune going out of the complex as didn't feel comfortable in the place after the first night ... If you want a drink of water or pop in the morning between 10 a.m and when the bar opens at 11 a.m tough if you want an ice lolly or ice cream you need to go outside the complex when not meal times - despite having a sign up next to the bar (having said that Pedro the lovely bar man spotted my grandson asking at the bar for an ice cream and followed him with a couple of small tubs of ice cream from somewhere The big pool was rarely used except for hardy people me and my grandson gave it a go it was fine for polar bears ... Imagine ice filled pool and some freeeeeezzzing... Then what a treat we went to the smaller pool which is heated lovely except normal sunbieds chained till 10.00 a.m ... As the week progressed we noticed well before 10.00 a.m luxury sunbeds complete with towels , some with holiday makers and some without where dotted around the pool .... I asked the lifeguard who to be fair didn't speak English could we use those beds he said no and just pointed to the normal sunbeds at said 10 o clock ... It quickly became evident it is a two tier hotel ... All inclusive and people who pay as they go ... Special people ... Reserved tables in eating area ... Special sunbeds ... And at one point we were circled by a group of foreign holiday makers as they gestured to the staff pointing rudely at us as we had unwittingly spoilt their line of sunbeds (they were on special sunbeds and did not have all inclusive bands on).... Wasn't a relaxed atmosphere at all ... I got to the stage where I had a stare out of this one particular woman as she strutted up and down in a strop as the staff had shrugged their shoulders when I presume she had asked to get us moved ... May I add we are are quiet people (the incident on my daughters birthday was an exception as we laughed out loud ... Obviously not the done thing) When checking out you have too look in the info book for your tour operator to find out pick up times ... But as there are front and back entrances a tip for TIU rep please put which entrance the pick up is from front or back ... The reception desk had no idea just said look in book ... Felt like we have had your money shut the door on the way out ... I am well travelled and I have never stayed at a hotel where a rep doesn't show their face to see guests off ... Felt really impersonal ... Positives ... Lovely big apartment with everything you need if you want to cook or a brew etc ... Lovely positioned balcony and sunny all day (although we asked for a couple of sunbeds and they declined ... Yet the apartments surrounding pool for the special ones all had luxory sunbeds and umbrellas ... Totally makes you feel like a second rate citizen ) Food adequate lots of choice ... Entertainers a bit cheesy but they work hard ... Bar staff brilliant .... Very impressed with lifeguards they helped bring beds to elderly ... Blew pool toys up for families and never took their eyes off the pool .... Cleaners lovely everyone has a smile on their face ... Very central for restaurants as you turn right out of front gate a brilliant Chinese restaurant and a bar very welcoming .. If you turn left further down across a couple of crossings you come across a bar called Babuscas it looks like a little bar during day but at night when perfume store closes more seats and tables are put out ... Very popular and a few nights they have a guitarist singer on brilliant if you like New York, New York type songs really good night ... Tip get there for 8ish to be guaranteed a seat ... A supermarket is a bit further up and sells newspapers etc the one next to hotel doesn't ... Beach area The beach is about a 10 minute walk but be warned on way there down hill on way back you need climbing clamps not for the faint hearted ... A brilliant sports bar called Winchesters reasonable prices food and drinks ... Multiple screens watched my local team and rugby at same time bliss ... Be wary of extremely tall lady in very colourful outfit and turbin was on her own (can't miss her she is about 8 foot tall) she approached us and within seconds we were surrounded by about four of them they quickly put cheap plastic bracelets on our wrists and started banding a piece of my hair stating all free ... We kept insisting we didn't want them .. Then suddenly they wanted 35 euros we declined and they proceeded to rip the bracelets off us ... Nasty lot ... Especially a smaller one who was chewing a piece of bark for some reason .... All in all would I go back to that hotel ..nope not a chance ... If you like that sort of thing then you will be fine ... We are not party animals but would have like a communal place to sit and mingle with other guests .... Just one last thing .... In the bushes just outside the restaurant is a ginger cat ... He is lovely and we purchased little tins of cat food and gave him fresh water and a rummy rub every day .... He is lovely and I hope if you visit you will treat him too .... P.s.he doesn't like bacon the ants seem to swarm it ... Collapse
