Our daughter is confined to a wheelchair so we find it extremely difficult to travel and find suitable accommodation. From the very first contact with the Efteling Hotel they were extremely accommodating and helpful. We had two adjoining rooms with interconnecting doors, both rooms were very clean and spacious. One room had a double and two single beds, the other room a double bed. Due to the location, the rooms are very quiet and have no external noise. Also the design of the hotel means the number of rooms around you are minimal. There are also a couple of "hidden" surprises in each of the rooms. But you will have to visit to see them. The only bad points I have about the room are: Pillows were just weird! and did not feel comfy. The other is that there is no kettle in the room for making hot water. We opted to have our meals in the Hotel rather than in the park as it was more convenient for our situation. The evening Buffet Restaurant food was very good, fresh and the selection was varied. Excellent Salad bar and Steak cooked to order. It does get busy, but not overcrowded. Drinks are served to your table and billed to your room. Breakfast was high quality and high choice, with at least 7 different drinks available. Cold meats and cheeses, cereal and cooked foods were all available. Great for the day ahead in the park. Parking the car was easy and access to the hotel was level and suitable for wheelchair users. The doors to the hotel are powered so excellent for access. The hotel definitely catered for children and made them feel very much at home, they had steps up to the check-in counter so they could speak to the receptionist, the toilets were size appropriate and in the rooms there was a very good invention under the bathroom sink to give better access to the wash basin. The hotel also had a children's room with a mini-climbing net and slide. Characters from D'Efteling park were also in Reception in a morning and evening to greet the children. We did not see the themed rooms, but if the standard of the rest of the hotel is anything to go by they should be wonderful. We will be going back in the future. Collapse

This hotel did meet our expectations. It is at walking distance from the park itself. If you do an overnight stay here you are allowed to enter the theme park half an hour earlier so you can beat the crowds a bit for the more exciting rides. There is free parking around the hotel. The rooms are tidy and clean. The beds sleep well. No coffee or tea making facilities, but you won't come across that in many other Dutch hotels. Just keep in mind that you probably need a car to bring you to any shops or restaurants in the surroundings. The hotel is very close to the highway. The buffet breakfast is very nice and there is a selection of cold and warm choices, like croissants, muffins, fresh bread, donuts, scrambled eggs and beacon. We had a nice relaxing stay. Collapse

The Efteling Hotel is very nice and comfortable. From check in to check out the staff really makes you feel welcome and happy to help. If you arrive early before afternoon check in there is a room available to store your luggage if you need to. If you have reserved a package for hotel and park you will be given your tickets to go at any time. It is only a short walk to the back entrance of the park just thru the car park and down the lane. Just remember to take your tickets as they are needed to go in. The hotel is very nicely decorated and the fairy tale theme is very evident. There are 2 restaurants one is a buffet and the other is a la carte menu. We ate in the a la carte restaurant and were a bit disappointed in the selection. (Reservations are recommended.) The menu is a bit limited and I thought the food only average. I was also disappointed in the service as even though they had what seemed like enough help they were just not very attentive. Dirty plates left on the table and it was necessary to flag down the server to ask for additional beverages. I was very disappointed that there was a charge for a carafe of tap water. Shame on you Efteling!!! Breakfast is served in the large dining room and you have a choice between 2 sittings. We took the last sitting both mornings of our visit and were a bit disappointed because towards the end of the time some of the selections were either gone or very meager. There was plenty of help but lacked in promptness in clearing dirty plates etc. I was appalled when one of the ladies who was wiping off the counter around the bread just threw the crumbs on the floor. What a bad example that was for the children in attendance plus it was all over the floor which did not look very nice. The bar is nice and cozy and you can order all kinds of hot snacks. We also so some people enjoying their dinner in the bar which would be a good choice as it is so much quieter than in the dining room. Right across from the dining room is a children’s play room which also was very loud if you were sitting towards the front of the dining room. It was a pity that so many of the children were running around unattended. We even witnessed one of the servers scold several children from running as it was dangerous. The rooms are really nice and very children and family friendly. There is a refrigerator and fully stocked with all kinds of drinks and snacks. It would be good to mind your children if you don’t want a huge bill when leaving as they are a bit costly. There are several surprises around the room that I will not elaborate on and let you be surprised. Collapse

Efteling park was amazing as always. This time we stayed in the hotel- previously we had stayed in the village. Overall I liked the hotel. The room was a good size and had nice touches. The staff that were dressed up for meet and greets were fabulous - they spent ages talking to my children and stayed in character the whole time. My daughter believes in fairies and to meet a real life fairy was such a highlight!! I took a star off because of the breakfast staff in the hotel. They were really miserable - it is odd as all the other hotel staff were so friendly and enthusiastic so I don't know why this is the case? The receptionist was lovely and the bar staff were great. The breakfast staff though were generally grumpy and were actually really rude to me when my two year old picked up a sugared pastry that apparently was not for breakfast but for some conference?? If so why put it on a table at child's height at the entrance to the breakfast hall??!! My son is 2 and cried for several minutes when the man told me off. Even after I apologised in English he spoke in a cross voice in Dutch which I thought was particularly rude as obviously I didn't know what he was saying. The two male staff at breakfast really let this hotel down. There is no point making the place magical if you then have rude staff. Collapse

The hotel was nice, we only slept there because we spent all of our time in Eindhoven at Efteling's theme park (highly recommended!!) but we rested well, and it was fairly comfortable, best location for visiting Efteling.
