The hotel has a splendid location right on the quai dea fleurs. We stayed in the old part which is very quiet and comfortable. The room was clean and had a lovely small balcony overlooking the lake from where you could admire the sunset but also all the changes of colours in the water during the day and the mountains on the other side of the lake. The bookings site advertises the fact that the room has coffee and tea making as well as ironing facilities. This is not true Collapse

Booked this through Trivago/Booking.com where I saw only good reviews. I didn't check on TripAdvisor and paid the proverbial price. Hotel is 3 stars, definitely NOT 4 stars. It looks fairly nice in the reception area but the further you get from there the more obvious the age and wear and tear of the hotel. It certainly meets the "faded grandeur" description. Also, I somehow missed that this "hotel" seems primarily geared towards the Biotonus health clinic on-site. The Biotonus reception area dominants the relatively small hotel reception and has fliers/posters all around. The clinic in practice means you have clinic patients (most of whom seem to be at very advanced ages, several in wheelchairs with accompanying nurses) staying next to non-patient guests. Of course I have nothing against patients seeking treatment or seniors, but this was an entirely new and unexpected hotel experience. Our room was quite spacious but the furniture was clearly very old, and shabbily so (think faded with ring watermarks, NOT well maintained antiques). Noise in the hallway was very clear, and in several instances we thought someone was entering our room when they were in fact inserting a key into the room next door. The crown molding on the ceiling was in tact but every other surface was thoroughly chipped, marked, or faded. The bathroom was large and with double sinks (good) but the toilet had a lingering smell (not overwhelming but consistently there, similar to other reviews I have now subsequently read). The porch opens to a spectacular view of Lake Geneva (good), but when I sat on the plastic patio furniture and began to take in my surroundings I noticed the patio was thoroughly caked in bird droppings and the outside was in dire need of a new paint coat (bad). My overall conclusion is both the inside and outside of the hotel need a serious renovation. Hotel restaurant prices were exorbitant as expected, but the real sting was the 7 CHF charge for anything brought to the room. This just seems ludicrous to me and simply a means to nickel and dime. In my mind such a fee is already baked into the over-priced menu (~38 CHF for a burger is a bit much). Overall I think this could be a seriously nice hotel if the current or new owner funded a heavy duty renovation. It would be hard to beat the size of the hotel rooms, lake views, and location, and I think people would pay a premium for a room and service quality to match. Collapse
Cold hospitality and absolutely avoidable

This hotel property seems to be a very old heritage building but rooms have been renovated. Overall the hotel and rooms are nice but the rooms are poorly equipped and house keeping and room service is extremely poor. Basic things for guests comfort are ignored, rooms don't have tea kettle and iron boards. Hotel provides ice at a price, house keeping would just provide one soap in toilet, staff at reception wouldn't have the courtesy to leave their chair and attend a guest as they would just keep sitting at their desk and reply. Charming old hotel right on the lake. Beautiful views from the room balcony and ample sized rooms. There was an old fashioned feel which we thought added character, though I was worried having read other reviews that the hotel was run-down. This was not the case. Rooms were very clean and bright. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel provided free travel vouchers for the surrounding area which could also be used to gain discounts on local attractions including boat trips. Well located within 15 minutes walk from the town centre or a <5 minute journey on the frequent bus which left from just outside the hotel. Highly recommended. Collapse

We Stayed for three nights with my wife and two kids in Junior Suite - Lake Side .. The staff was very helpful and friendly especially a girl from Lebanon and their billboy. it's just about 8 min walking from the city center if you use the promenade with amazing views. It was fantastic Suite in -3 floor with a King size bed and two full Bathrooms and seating area with two LCD. The suite has an access to the backyard terrace with a wonderful green area and lake view with two cheers and a table.. you can access to Lugano Promenade from the terrace as well. some of the suits in higher floor with the same facility but without a terrace only a balcony The seating area offer a sofa bed .. There is a handwasher in the middle of the room give you a facility to wash anything and no need to go to the toilet like we washed our infant feeding bottle. In the other hand I read in the other reviews many comments about there is a medical Center in the Hotel .. yes there is one but you'll not feel anything and don't care. Be careful to reserve any standard rooms because it's not renovated. only Deluxe or a Suits. It's an old Hotel from outside but renovated from inside as the lobby and all rooms expt the standard rooms!! there is no Parking in the Hotel only few outside parking and always full. but you can park in the street parking.
