Nice room, prompt service at this large hotel . Concierge is quite helpful with Metro , restaurant selections, and cabs. Breakfast buffet has many selections. It's easy walking distance to the Arc Dr Triomphe and shopping on the Champs-Élysée.

Given the location being so close to the Arc du Triomphe, metro stations (George V and Arc) and photos I saw on TripAdvisor we decided to try this hotel. Lobby was impressive but once you leave the lobby the true age and condition of the hotel appears. The hallways and rooms are dated and dark. The room size was ok for Paris but the lack of responsive AC was noticeable especially trying to sleep through hot nights. We included breakfast in our room rate. Big mistake!! The food quality at the buffet was beyond poor (frozen croissants and pastries in Paris- really!!) A huge number of guests eat here every morning and as such service is non existent and i spent more time lining up to order a coffee than I did sitting down eating my meal. I asked if I could borrow a power adaptor and was told that I had to purchase the one in the minibar - no loans. On check out several items from the mini bar were noted. We did not take anything from the minibar but moved some items to make way for things we bought at convenience shops outside. The front desk employee removed the items when I challenged them and explained that there is motion detector and every time an item is moved in the fridge the client is charged!! Definitely not a 5 star hotel or experience. Collapse
Too busy. Terrible housekeeping. But otherwise ok

When we first arrived, this seemed like a great hotel. But on entering we realized how busy it is. I think they have too many rooms and can't cope. There are very long queues for everything - check in, lifts, breakfast, concierge ........ the check in lady was great as was the concierge. We chose a large room which was spacious and comfortable for a family of 4. They give you a handy phone which is a mobile with free data and calls. Great ...... if it works. Despite several requests they didn't replace the broken phone which was disappointing. The chair in the room was broken and took almost 12 hours to replace. The turn down service came at 10pm by which time the kids had already turned down. They only give two bottles of drinking water for the whole stay ... rather stingy. We had access to the executive lounge which was nice but the chair there was also broken. Breakfast in the lounge is ok but quite limited ... at least there isn't a 30 minute wait for a table. The hotel is well located near arc de triomphe. Unfortunately, because of the queues and the terrible housekeeping, I won't come back. Otherwise it would have been a good hotel. Collapse

Slow housekeeping, carpeting is terrible. Size of rooms for Europe are not bad. Bedding is ok, not enough pillows. AC is weak. Water is scarce, have to order room service if you've consumed and paid for the one bottle of water in the mini-fridge. Not sure how they track, multiple billing issues with the mini-fridge. Bathtubs are so high that both my husband and I stubbed our toes, however, they are not wide. Cannot have your feet shoulder width apart they are so small. Shower, we'll call it that, is a hand-held add on in the corner of the tub, you have to wedge into the corner to shampoo your hair during a shower. Concierge, only adequate. Able to provide some information, however, misrepresented tickets purchased for the Palace as skip the line when they were not. Also, made reservations through them for the terrace at the Museum restaurant to view the tower during dinner. The restaurant called, said they did, in the afternoon to let them know that the terrace would be closed. Concierge did not pass on the message to us, nearly ruined a well-planned evening. Breakfast at restaurant was reasonable, however, the eggs are terrible. I had never seen scrambled eggs that resembled jelled porridge prior to our visit and they tasted awful. They appeared the same on three different days, we only tried them once. Table service was non-existent. Waited 15 min for hot tea, gave up when another table began causing a scene because they had been waiting for more than half an hour for coffee. Room service is dismal. They only delivered half the food, forgot several condiments (syrup is needed for french toast), more importantly ignored a food allergy alert and then took nearly an hour to deliver the rest of the food. No apology, rather the gentleman on the phone handed the phone to a lady who seemed annoyed with me. The Purple Room bar was decent in both selection and price. Collapse
