Stayed for 2 weeks in September. The best thing is the location and the great sea views. A number of restaurants within a couple of hundred yards. Supermarket less than 100 yards. Bars a bit further away, towards Playa de la Arena, probably a 10/15 minute walk. Nightly entertainment on in Blarney Stone and Highland Paddy. As for the apartments, we had a one bedroom apartment. Large apartment with very good aircon, independent control for living room and bedroom. Fridge didn't have an ice box compartment, no ice cubes for drinks on balcony. If you walk around in your bare feet you'll see how dirty the floors are...a lick with a mop isn't going to get the floors clean. Cleaners 5 days per week ,not on Thursday or Sunday. Towels changed every 2 days and bed sheets 3 days....unless due on Thursday or Sunday. Wife found the bed ok....I didn't find mine comfortable at all. Make sure you hire a safe...€2 per day plus €10 deposit. Woke one morning to find the main apartment door opened and left ajar. Another resident advised that he had a problem with missing items. Loads of choices for breakfast, again difference of opinion between the wife and I about quality. No creepie crawlies seen in or around complex. Pool area well maintained and clean with great quality sun beds and plenty of umbrellas. No problem getting a bed at any time of day. No courtesy room on day of departure....told to leave suitcases in corridor beside managers office. Shower in public WC on fourth floor...no towels provided. As mentioned by other reviewers, a mirror in bedroom is essential. Taxi to airport was €48. Local taxis €3.15 or €3.45 late or Sunday. I personally wouldn't be inclined to go back but never say never. Collapse

Me and my girlfriend are halfway through our holiday in Puerto De Santiago and are staying at Dragos Del Sur hotel. We are absolutely delighted! Firstly, the hotel is very clean and the rooms are the biggest we have seen. We have our own kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and sofa with flat screen TV. The view from the balcony is incredible, looking out onto the most beautiful view of the sea and the small street below. Also, we have breakfast included in the price of the hotel which is great! The staff have been excellent - we accidentally booked a pool view room and asked for an upgrade which was given to us within 30 minutes of asking and within 45 minutes we were moved into a new room with a sea view. If you have the option, we would definitely recommend choosing a sea view room. The area is quiet enough to enjoy a peaceful beer on the balcony and quiet stroll through the streets of Puerto De Santiago, but also offers many bars, restaurants, shops and stunning views that can also keep you busy. There is something for everyone here. We are staying here during September and the weather has been really great. In the morning there is a cool breeze and sometimes a few clouds because of the humidity. During the day, the clouds clear and even though the temperature stays below 30°C, it feels extremely hot! Overall I think Dragos Del Sur is a great hotel with great facilities and staff. Puerto De Santiago is such a beautiful place and has something to offer for everyone. We will definitely be back! Just returned from a 2 week holiday here with our family of 4. We had a 1 bed apt which was really modern and spacious with a beautiful sea view. Hotel is great value just €1200 for 2 wks b&b seems great to me. It's situated in Playa de la Arena and is a a lovely scenic walk to neighbouring resorts of Los Gigantes and Puerto de Santiago. Taxis are also readily available for just €3 if the walk is too much as it's very hilly! Prettiest place though, beautiful black cliffs as a back drop and a stone's throw from the sea. The closest beach we used was Playa de la Arena, around a 5 minute walk, beautiful black sand and sunbeds and parasols just €3 each for the day. There are restaurants and shops on the promenade close by so ideal for a spot of lunch. The hotel pool area was a particular highlight, situated on the fourth floor it gave amazing views of the sea and surrounding scenery. The pool area was kept very clean and there were always ample beds no matter what time of day it was surprisingly quiet. Bali beds we're a lovely touch and an ideal way to get some shade at the hottest time of the day. The pool bar offered a great menu and there was always a daily special on offer. Again great value around €2.50 for a toastie or salad €3 and €1.80 for a cold pint of San Miguel (no complaints here) Food was all freshly prepared to order by the lovely friendly staff. I would particularly recommend the chicken salad, delicious! The breakfast was brilliant, loads of choice; hot and cold buffet, fresh breads and pastries, fresh fruit, yoghurts and cereals, hot drinks and juice and even cava on a Sunday. Restaurant was clean and again the staff were great, always really helpful. The rooms were lovely although we had a 1 bed apartment and next time would probably get a 2 bed just so we all have a bedroom but we booked last minute so this wasn't an option. Air conditioning was a little noisy but very effective, we got used to it because we all slept like babies while we were there. The hot water in the showers was an issue, it seemed to run out after the first of us showered which was a pain, we ended up trying to space them out to hope there's be a bit of hot water. We did mention it to reception but they weren't much help, said maybe there was too many of us. Having said this if it weren't for the showers I'd be giving 5 stars. This hotel is just lovely and I would definitely recommend and be returning in the future if I go back to this resort. Collapse
