My experience here was wonderful! I came to times square for my birthday with my mom for the weekend and the staff was extremely accommodating. Gustavo (Gus) gave us a free drink at the bar and breakfast in the morning at the hotel restaurant when he learned it was my birthday and our first time staying there. Already impressed! Then when we got to our room we noticed the bed springs were busted on one side of the bed so we went downstairs to see if we could switch rooms and not only did they immediately apologize and block the room in their system but they upgraded us to a room with a view to times square! I'm so glad they did because you could see all the action and street performers. The hotel was right in the heart of times square, the perfect location. My mom went down to the lobby the next night to compliment Gus to the assistant office manager Tito and say how lovely the hotel is and what a great time we were having here and then on our last night Tito surprised me with a birthday note and a free souviner from the gift shop that he left in our room. Staff was great! Had a king bed room with a sofa couch on the 10th floor and it was very clean and spacious with fridge and microwave and great water pressure from shower. We were right next to the elevator and didn't hear it at all it was quiet and peaceful. Even the lady who came up to change out our coffee machine when the switch wasn't working, she was also extremely polite. They have staff checking room keys at entrance in the later parts of the night for security too. If you are going to spend the money to get a good location to get the full times square experience, this hotel is definitely a great choice!! Collapse
Great Location and Staff

Great free breakfast buffet and friendly staff. The rooms are a little long in the tooth but who cares! Prices high but consistent with others in the area. Right next to the half price ticket booth. Good concierge.

Being in the absolute heart of Times Square with access to theater, subways, churches and restaurants in a beautiful and very clean hotel was worth the price. Room is actually a two room suite and contains microwave.

This is our place of choice during our annual trip to the city. If you can reserve and afford the corner rooms on the top floors, you'll have clear view of Times Square and broadway. It's an amazing view! The noise level is there but surprisingly low for the area. You can walk to all the areas in Mid Town; Broadway shows, Rockefeller center, Radio city, MOMA, Grand central, and even to Central Park. So the location is undoubtedly in a good spot. Along with that benefit also comes with traffic and crowds, to the point of being shoulder to shoulder with thousands of others from all of the world. Upon entering the hotel, you take an elevator to the hotel lobby to check in. There's a small bar (too small for the size of the hotel), and another set of elevators to your room. The rooms are typical NYC size rooms, small and compact. Collapse

My first time in NYC or America, so I was a little apprehensive, great warm welcome from the front of house staff, who even though they were busy took the time to explain everything. The suite was quite spacious and the apartment faced W47th I think, After a long day of traveling I retired to bed in a city that never sleeps! Well the construction site over the street certainly didn't but I can't blame Double Tree for that. I didn't hear them the second night, so either it was a one off or I just passed out! I would certainly use this place again should I return. Collapse
