Nice Business Travel (with Family)

The hotel is more suited for business travel, but my family found it quite fun and comfortable for their stay as well. We used the (heated) pool and hot tub in the middle of December! The rooms were extremely nice and the hotel was accommodating.

Last weekend I surprised my boyfriend with a trip to the Bahamas (12/10/17). The cruise was cancelled in ft. Lauderdale and we had to drive North 2hrs to Naples where we had a complimentary stay at the DoubleTree. We were so frustrated with our weekend and when we arrived at the hotel we met Joanne. She offered us some walnut cookies and let us know the cookies would keep on coming during our stay. We arrived around 8 am and technically it wasn't checkout time for the existing guests yet so originally we were going to have to wait. Joanne went to ask for help for us even though our stay was complimentary and found us a suite!!!! We were ELATED. It was the ONLY thing that went right that morning. (You have no idea!) We got into our room with a credit to be placed on file with a hold of $50 (to be returned if no charges were made to the room during our stay.) We went to our room (201) and opened the door and it was cozy, like a mini apartment. There was no stove but a living room, with plasma tv, the bedroom with plush white sheets and a cozy comforter in the closet. The pillows were great, and trust me we needed them. We were almost directly above Charlie Chang's, the Asian restaurant downstairs. There was a cool cordless phone that connected us to downstairs and the thermostat was easily manipulated to comfort temperature. The hotel had free parking, happy hour from 5-7p with half off well drinks. Charlie Chang's also had happy hour. The food at Chang's was great but we paid about $70 for 1 appetizer, 3 dishes, no beverage ( since we planned to go right to the hotel for its happy hour) and tip. Last but not least our Day 2! Day two I went downstairs and got us breakfast. They had a decent selection and it was set up nicely. Since my boyfriend was still in bed they gave me a rolling table to take up. Breakfast cost roughly $25 for us both. Now of course I could've just gotten enough for us both and paid for ONE breakfast but I paid for two. Later that afternoon we hit the hot tub!!!!! The BEST part of our stay by far. We needed the heat, comfort and ambiance. No one was in there but us but it was like 55 degrees out. When the heat of the tub was too much we jumped right over into the semi-heated pool. The pool has a closing time and we stayed in the hot tub until they locked it down. Check out was easy (included two more cookies) and the only thing charged to us was the roughly $30 for breakfast. I would visit again but just for a "nothing to do" or "just passing thru" vacation. Naples is a very nice and wealthy area but doesn't offer much attraction and fun for young people (Me-30, my Boyfriend-28). I would rate this hotel excellent if the tub was more accommodating for couples or even a parent and child. Its just a bit smaller than I'd thought but still nice bathroom. I also would've said excellent if breakfast was complimentary maybe not for us but at least for the paying guests, there were better drinks for happy hour, and a more exciting location. Totally a 7.5/10 for us, but really that's also from our perspective as complimentary guests. If we paid we probably would lower the rating just a bit. It's a comfty , cozy, simple hotel. It isn't knock your socks off so a 6-7.5. Hope this helps! Collapse

This Hilton property met all my expectations of providing exceptional and attentive service during my 4 night stay. The rooms, or rather suites, are large and comfortable with high end linens and toiletries. As a Hilton Honors member I was treated to extra amenities which made the stay all the more relaxing. My one quibble is the signage leading up to the hotel. The signs are relatively small and blocked by trees as you drive up to the hotel, making it difficult to see the entrance off of a busy and fast highway. Hilton should enlarge the signage and/or cut the trees which will afford a better and safer view of the property for arriving guests. Collapse
