My relationship with this hotel dates back to when it opened as the Guest Quarters some 30 years ago. It housed my family during relocation, served as an interview place for Harvard Business School students, and, was a great home base for a getaway weekends with jazz and dinner at Sculler's. But I'm afraid this was my farewell stay. I don't remember the living room looking like an example of how NOT to arrange and decorate a hotel space - but it is. Most disturbing was the airplane engine disguised as a heat (and AC?) source. I had to turn it off for the night to get any sleep and the room was down to 62 degree by morn. And while I was "only" burning 58,000 Hilton Points for the stay, the $45 parking tab makes downtown NY seem cheap. Maybe Harvard will buy the building and turn it into a dorm! Collapse

I had a great stay at the doubletree and was there for a week while attending a conference at Harvard. The room was very big, comfortable, and clean. It is approximately a 25-30 minute walk to Harvard Square but they have a shuttle bus that runs in the morning. The breakfast is average/good and the bar is just okay. The gym is small but has everything you need to workout. I would stay again. Collapse

Ate at The Boat for dinner and breakfast. Food was good as well as staff. Parking is prohibitively expensive @ $40 a day considering you are not really walking distance to anything. Collapse

The DOUBLETREE GUEST SUITES BOSTON is not a bad hotel, it was okay. The room was clean and water pressure was good. Hotel staff was pleasant and check in was easy. If that is what you are looking for in a hotel, then you are good. I was here for a 2 night stay with my husband and daughter. I chose this hotel because of the indoor pool and having access to a shuttle bus into Downtown Boston was a nice plus. We used the shuttle only once and there are no complaints about that (we ended up using Lyft to come back as the time for the shuttle returning did not work for us.) What disappointed me about my stay here was the lack of communication regarding the swimming lessons at the pool. I understand renting the use of the pool to an outside company for kids lessons, I'm not complaining about that. If the hotel wants to make a few extra bucks, I'm not knocking them. I do wish they were more forthcoming about the lessons. Perhaps put it on the website or mention it at check in. Especially since this was during mid-winter break and my daughter was off from school, so we were there on a Thursday. There was one sign above the pool hours AT the entrance to the pool mentioning a private event from Mon-Thur from 2-5pm. I did not even see it but really, that is where you're going to put the sign? By the time you come to the pool, you're already in your swimsuit and set to use the pool. How upsetting would that be for a kid to be all excited to use the pool and then see the sign? Even though the sign said the pool was closed for a private event, we were still allowed in to use the pool and jacuzzi. The company doing the lessons were nice about it. We stayed out of their way as much as we could. If I knew about this event beforehand, I would have adjusted our schedule to accommodate. We had just driven 4 hours from NYC and looked forward to using the pool after the drive. It was annoying to have to deal with this after the long drive. We probably would not return to this hotel when we come back to the area. Also something to keep note, due to the nature of how the hotel is constructed (all the floors lobbies are "opened" to the main lobby), you can hear all the noise coming from the restaurant below while you are in your room. You wouldn't hear it if you are sleeping in the back room but if someone is sleeping in the front room, hopefully, they are not light sleepers. My daughter was sleeping in the front room but she is not a light sleeper, fortunately. Just something to keep in mind. Collapse
