Four of us stayed here for a concert we were attending. We were happy to find a place that advertised a king bed and sofa sleeper in other room. Unfortunately when we arrived in our room we discovered the sofa was not a sleeper after all. We brought it to the hotel's attention and the only thing they offered us was a small cot. It was extremely uncomfortable and cramped for 4 people. The next day we spoke to the manager and the only thing that was offered to us was a discount on parking. If I needed to stay in the area again I would look a different hotels that advertise correctly and compensate their customers accordingly. Collapse

There is a lot of space in the rooms. The rooms are clean and the view of the Charles river is breath taking. Great environment for family vacation. The staff made every effort to make your stay feel as if you are home.

When I booked this room through the hotel's website the description of the King suite was that it had a king bed in the bedroom & a separate seating area with a sofa sleeper. There were 4 people in our group which I listed on the reservation. Upon arrival I realized there was only a sofa, there was no bed hidden inside & we searched well! We didn't have time to speak with the front desk since we were going to a concert that night. When we returned after we spoke with the front desk & he offered us a cot. He said any other adjustments would have to be done by the manager. The cot was a very tight squeeze in the living area. And it was VERY LOUD which led to unsound sleep for the person sleeping on the couch & the one on the cot. In the morning the front desk agent offered free parking ($40) which was not much compensation for a room that was not up to par with what the website promised which led to an uncomfortable stay for our party. He said he'd bring the out of date website to the attention of the manager. I doubt we were the 1st party to encounter this problem as he stated the website has been out of date since renovations were made to the rooms & they no longer contained sleeper sofas. The hotel itself was very nice & in a convenient location. We were just underwhelmed at the experience and the lack of effort to make it right as was stated on a card in our room should we encounter any issues. Collapse

Our group of 4 adults booked the hotel in advance online and there were only king bed suites available. In the website description, it says that the room also has a "Seating Area with Sofa Sleeper" however when we arrived it was a couch with no sleeper. When we brought this to the manager's attention, they said that the website hasn't been updated since the hotel renovations and the rooms no longer have sleeper sofas. They were unable to offer us any further assistance, other than to give us a small, broken, hard roll away cot (barely off the ground). After a horrible nights sleep on a couch/cot for two of our friends, we spoke to a manager again. There is a sign in the room that says to speak with management if you have any issues and they will "make it right." Except their version of "make it right" was to offer us free parking for one night ($40). It is truly unfortunate that the hotel management was unable to provide any further assistance, especially given that a member of our party is a Hilton Honors Gold member. As someone who arranges travel (domestic/international) for large events, I am disappointed in the incorrect website, mishandling of information, and lack of customer service from management we experienced while staying at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Boston Cambridge. The Hotel was very clean. We were a family of four visiting Boston/ College Visits and had a King Suite. The king bed was in its own room and then the common area had a full size bed that pulled down from the wall and a sofa. When the bed was down, it was crowded in the common area. My two teens (15 & 17) shared that area. The hotel offered a shuttle to the aquarium area, Harvard Square, and a few other locations. The Shuttle is first come first serve, which was a little stressful bc we didn't have another way to get to the aquarium, so I recommend waiting for shuttle at least 15 mins before it is scheduled. Day 2 we wanted to take the shuttle to the aquarium area again, and did not make it down in time, the shuttle driver tried to encourage other passengers to double up on seats, when that didn't work, he decided to switch to the bigger shuttle.
