Not really. Maybe they should double the English lessons for their bartender and cleaning lessons for housekeeping. This hotel is greatly in need of a facelift. It is dated and is showing it. For what they charge, and not being anywhere near the center of town, they need to step up their game. I'm a clean freak when it comes to hotel rooms. I go armed with Lysol wipes and spray and wipe down every single thing that may have come in contact with the prior tenants hands (including the room thermostat, light swiches and hair dryer). Let's start with the room. It was adequate for our needs BUT ....the bathroom door would not stay open unless you propped something against it, the faucet for the sink was so close to the edge of the sink that when the guys in our group shaved they said the water from rinsing their faces went all over the vanity top making a big mess, there were two elastic ponytail holders on the windowsill, complete with hair in them, that were there when we arrived and there when we left, the amount of hair in the hair dryer lint screen was enough to start a fire, there was an unidentifiable stain on the chair and multiple of the same on the carpet, and, while this is just a decorating ick, iridescent curtains. Shades of Austin Powers! We had a coffee maker in our room but after the room was made up no cream was left. If you're going to have a coffee maker in a room shouldn't the condiments be restocked daily? On to the bar. This will be brief because there are not enough adjectives to describe the service we DIDN'T receive at the bar. The four of us came back from dinner on our first night and went to the "bar" for a nightcap. It closed at 11:00 but we got in under the wire. I asked for a Sam Adams. The bartender, who was not of American desent, could not understand what I wanted so I pointed to it on the beer menu. Really???? My husband, feeling very daring that night, asked for a Dewars on the rocks. Response from bartender: You want Stoli? Umm, no Dewars. "Stoli ....you want Stoli?" Umm, no Dewars Scotch. Blank stare and a couple of spins around the liquor rack and again ...Stoli? Seriously, where's the camera. My husband explains that Dewars is whiskey and ends up leaning over the bar pointing to the bottle. Really??? Oh, wait ....did I already say that? Enter one of our friends. I know that the wife is also a Dewars drinker and I desperately tried to sign to her NOT to order it verbally ...just find it on the drink menu and point. But she didn't. So, we go through the whole routine again because he still has no idea what she is saying or what Dewars is. Enter her husband who, before I could warn him decides he wants a Dark and Stormy so asks if they have ginger beer. I only have 2700 characters left for this review so let's just move past the circus side show that ensued and say that our friend finally gave up and ordered (by, at my urging, pointing to) a beer. He then left for a minute and his wife asked for a glass for his beer. Nothing. Second request. Nothing. I asked. Nothing. The husband came back and HE asked. The bartender looks at him like he had asked to see the Ark of the Covenant and repeats back to him "you want a glass???" Yes!!! Please!!!! We started thinking maybe he was the janitor standing in for the regular bartender. I've been to a lot of bars in my lifetime but this was hands down THE WORST bartender I have ever seen. We had driven from Philadelphia to Boston (not a short trip), had a nice dinner and just wanted a drink before bed to relax. It was a long day. This poor excuse for a bartender just made it longer. I personally don't care if you just set foot in America that day, as long as you can speak and understand enough of the language to do your job, which happens to be in a customer service industry. I really don't think leaning over the bar pointing to your bottle of choice or doing charades to get the bartender to understand what we want should be part of OUR job description. They need to move this gentleman to another capacity in the hotel for both his comfort level and that of the customers. Collapse

We chose to stay at this property for its location, value and free shuttle to downtown Boston. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly staff member who handed us warm cookies. These were a hit with our kids for sure. The room was spacious and clean. There was no fridge in the room. The hotel doesn't offer complimentary breakfast but there's a 'market' spot where you can buy Starbucks coffee, varied pastries, bagels, etc. Later in the day you can also get sandwiches, pizza, etc. Alternatively you can buy the buffet breakfast at the hotel. We used the shuttle to get downtown as we didn't want to drive and deal with parking. If you want to use the shuttle it's best to let them know what time you want to use it as there's limited space for each shuttle which runs once every hour and drops you off by the Aquarium. You just need to text the hotel or call them when you want to be picked up. This is where we ran into a hick-up. We texted that we wanted to be picked up and were told that the shuttle would be there to pick us in 1/2 hour. After 1/2 hour and no shuttle, we followed up via text and were told that they would contact the driver. A couple of minutes later we received a text with an update that the driver had run into heavy traffic and apologies. So yes, we ended up waiting about 50 minutes. That said there was a happy ending to the story. When we walked into our room we were surprised by 4 water bottles and a box with 1/2 a dozen warm cookies and an apology note. That was so sweet. We would stay here again. Collapse

We (family of 4) stayed here at the start of our holiday. The shuttle picked us up at the airport. When we got to the hotel we were checked in by Natalia. She was very friendly and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean with great pillows. We all slept like logs. Bathroom was nice too. The hotel is not far from the metro station which will take you into downtown Boston. The area is nice and quiet too. The only thing I wasn't keen on was the Siberian draught in the hallway when you stepped out of your room, the aircon was a bit too cold. Can't really complain though.
