Really quite exceptional staff, food, service and rooftop bar, will definitely return. The staff went way above and beyond, and not just one of them, as is sometimes the case. They knew their stuff, went out of their way when they didn't need to, and generally made you want to go back hoping they were all there. It was unusually pouring with rain when we were there, and it did not matter one bit as they had all sorts of special sauce to ensure the weather was irrelevant. Superb! Collapse

Booked this through Voyage Prive - 5 nights. Hotel is a bit out of the way, and is a fair walk to the Prom, but there is a little train that takes you down to the far end of the Prom, but you have to walk for a good 1.5 miles to reach the more popular area for bars, shops and restaurants. There are bars and shops as you walk down but there is more life further down into the centre. The Hotel check in was slow, and we arrived at 11am and was told we could not check in until 3pm, which was a bit of a pain as there is nothing near to see, visit - so had to go to the rooftop bar. The reception do not spend time explaining the facilites or what you can use....I had to ask to gain the information re the gym/ sports club area/bar. The Rooftop bar is lovely and this time of the year you can book a bed for 15 euros for the whole day and includes a bottle of Cava and a plate of fruit. This was pretty empty and lovely.....rooftop bar staff were really good, very attentive - Mary & Jo? and a young man whos name I can not remember, were all very good. The sports facility is of a very high standard and is part of an outside sports club, has loads of classes that you can go to and pay 7 euros. The gym is included and is open from around 7am. The Spa was part of this and not that well attended, and had no separate waiting area once you entered the Spa. The hydro was included with the price, but again wasnt explained that well. The massage I had was 71 euros, this was a deep tissue massage and was very firm!!! bit too firm and I am used to sports massaegs and this is not a relaxing experience and not for the faint hearted. The Evening meal was included along with BB and was downstairs in the restaurant. This was a little uninviting and lacked atmosphere (maybe a bit of music) the food was of a good quality and varied but was luke warm....which unfortunately spoilt the food. I did mention this to the morning chef and then covers were introduced that evening (this greatly improved the temp of the food) Their was also the choice to have meat/fish cooked in the evening and omlettes/fried eggs/boiled/poached eggs in the morning. One gripe No water with evening meal had to pay for this?!!!! think this should be included, as seems silly to offer cava, coffee and water, juice in morning but nothing in the evening! Would not have paid to eat in this restaurant as was not very appealling and had no atmosphere at all, plus the food was on the cold side, even though the quality of the food was very good. The small sports restaurant was good value and drinks a fraction of the cost of what they were on at the roof top bar (i think 18 euros for a premium gin and soda and a beer a little on the expensive side) the sports restaurant did a lovely Sangria for a few euros!! we also had lunch here on the day we left and they do a fantastic burger! The room was very good/comfy and was well equipped with plugs/mirros overlooking the tennis courts. The TV can be changed to English language (look on the menu) and had a kettle which was great (not enough coffee/milk supplied). Overall a good quality hotel, that lacked atmosphere! thats a little out of the way but not too far to jump in a taxi around 8 euros into the centre & surrounding areas, where there are plenty of bars/cafes/restaurants - this time of the year a lot of the bars/pubs are closed or shut early. The hotel has nice art deco features and there is often art installations in the lobby. Don't miss the SPA, it is good value and you get 15% off as a hotel guest. The breakfast buffet is nice and extensive, don't miss the Spanish treats! There is also several tennis courts if you want to play instead of staying at the pool. Collapse

The train stop is about 800m DOWN very steep hills (21%). There is a free trolley that comes to the train station every :27 past the hour from 0900-1830 and will take you to Hilton after a little tour of the area which is beautiful. There are NO phones and NO taxis at the train stop. You can, however, walk down a steep hill to the beach where you can find taxis---about 10 min walk. Easy ride on train from Malaga Airport---get off at Carvajal stop. The hotel is clean and crisp. Great restaurants. Awesome gym. Diamonds get free daily buffet breakfast and a free beer/wine each day as well. Definitely catch a bus or taxi (around 11 euros taking the 'old' road in the mountains (not the highway which is longer and more expensive) to Migas, a small wonderful town about 10KM away. GREAT technical hiking trails in the mts above Migas. Collapse
