Not my cup of tea - Room awful, pool issues but breakfast was good

The ONLY thing we enjoyed was the breakfast and leaving the hotel. I really expected so much more from this hotel. Whoever designed it made a few mistakes in my mind. Firstly you can see from the pictures that the toilet shares a door with the shower. This is a sliding glass panel and has no acoustic control at all. The toilet is virtually in the same room as the bed which means if you flush the toilet at night you wake up anyone asleep. The bath tub is in the room with dangerous limited access to climb in and out. If someone is in the shower you can not close the door to the toilet as that would open the shower door. There is nowhere to hang towels to dry. The corridor outside was a wind tunnel and the heating rattled. These may sound like minor gripes but after a few days we really hated the room and hardly slept a wink as the walls were paper thin. Another big promise is the gym and pool. We never got to use the gym as this is open to the public and was always full when we wanted to use it. As for the pool, on 2 occasions there were children's swimming lessons in progress and the four lanes were reduced to one and the noise was deafening. It turned out that the kids were not staying at the hotel but were local children, which is fine, but not what we expected as we were looking for a relaxing swim and we never got that. I will mention the breakfast, this was very good, but for the money we spent on our stay I can safely say I do feel cheated and this was my first stay at a Hilton Hotel. I can safely say I will not return to this hotel and will think twice about staying in a Hilton hotel again. Collapse

Overall this was a lovely hotel and a great choice for the weekend. Having the bathroom facilities open in the bedroom was very strange, toilet and shower cubicles with frosted glass leaving nothing to the imagination or any privacy as anybody in the room can see in the 3inch gap where toilet door didn't meet with the frosted glass of the shower cubicle. Wash basin is attached behind the headboard of the double bed and the bath is completely open in the middle of the living area next to the dining table! Breakfast was lovely, Infinity pool and bar on the roof was amazing, Michelin star chef although closed during our stay. We had a problem with our Air Conditioning although not bringing this to the attention of the hotel means I won't complain. As I was staying with my wife the privacy wasn't an issue but travelling with anybody else this wouldn't be acceptable. Collapse

On arrival we were met by the GM who told us we had been afforded an upgrade to a Panorama Suite. It had been a long day, so it was very much appreciated. The room didn't have a view of the sea (it was on the hill side, so I'm not sure if the intent was to put us across the hall where we would have seen the Mediterranean Sea but regardless the room was nice. The bed was large which was very much appreciated and breakfast the next morning was solid. We were impressed by the staff's attentiveness and appreciate their courtesy. However, for the price (probably due to location and since we were passing through it was "lost on us") it was a touch on the high side. Collapse

After reading some mixed reviews here I was positively surprised when I arrived at the hotel. We got upgraded to a larger room and had an amazing view of the sea and Fuengirola. Rooms are modern, the bathroom maybe a bit too modern... Not a big fan of shower being right next to the bed. We also had a tub by the window. Great place for sports lovers, especially tennis, padel and gym. Staff is friendly and helpful. Cleaning could improve (found some hair in the room as we arrived...). We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant Al Rolo which I can definitely recommend if you don't want to go downtown in the evening. Would recommend to hire a car to explore the region. Parking is for free and very convenient. Collapse

I live near this hotel so often take friends and family here. The roof top bar is beautiful with fantastic views over the med. It's very chic and modern. Our friends were staying here so we booked a day bed which came with a bottle of cava and a fruit platter for around €50 which was great value for money. The only problem is the snacks/lunch menu, the food was bad. If they improved the day menu we would come here more often that's why it only gets a very good instead of excellent. Collapse
