This is difficult to find. It is quirky from start to finish and does not fit into my image of Doubletree hotels. It works however. Parking is easy and free in the underground area. There is an Austin Healey parked in reception. There is a wide range of modern sculpture and artwork that we enjoyed. The seats in the restaurant are Perspex. The rooftop pool and surrounds is chic and impressive. The rooms are modern and functional. Ours had balcony with views down the coast and allowed us to sunbathe in the late afternoon sun. However the outdoor downstairs pool was not open in April and the rooftop pool had a hefty charge. That cannot be right. So guests at ground level were lying next to a pool they could not enter. Indefensible! The breakfast was excellent and was probably the best from Doubletree in our Hilton experiences. So ... not perfect but wonderful value for money in a property that is out of the way but well worth a visit. My advice would be to reduce the stupid fee on access to the roof top pool or get downstairs pool working pronto. Collapse

Stayed here for a week and we arrived late at night and left a day early. Staff were lovely and great all through the week, the rooms were always tidy and always had bedding changed and new towels brought in and room service was really nice. We are a 23-24 year old fit and healthy couple and the hills are hard to walk up. There is a shuttle bus that takes you to the top of the hill and right down to the bottom but this finishes at 6.30 so if you're wanting to go out for food around the area I would get a taxi. At the top of the hill there is a supermarket, Indian and a little Italian place along with a couple of other shops & towards the bottom the shuttle bus stops at the train station which one way leads you into fuengirola and the other way leads you to Malaga (we loved Malaga for the day so would recommend this). The beach is right down at the bottom (which is the last stop for the shuttle bus) but there's nothing much where it drops you off which then you may have to take a 10 minute walk to get to main areas. Right so the hotel itself, when we arrived we were told if you wanted to sit on the fancy sunbeds it was a 15euro fee. We decided to go and relax by it 2 days after we arrived and thought oh we'll pay the fee and got up there to be told that the fee had gone up to 25euro for HALF a day and 40euro for the FULL day!! This was absolutely ridiculous and when I questioned it, it was something to do with the season changing. The spa area, I do understand you have to pay for treatments and so on but when you have to pay to use jacuzzi or the steam area when you have already paid to stay in the hotel and use all its facilities I do think this is silly. I've known people stay in plenty of other Hiltons (within England, Poland etc) and never known any of them having to pay to use them. Overall it was a nice stay but little things just ruined it, like I say the staff were lovely but the location there is literally nothing to do around you, you have to seriously make your way to other areas and for the sunbed situation was ridiculous. All I wanted to do was relax in the hotel for the day but then getting told about the fee, I wasn't paying it. I would advise only to have a couple of days stay here not a full week and if you're comfortable driving in other countries I would definitely recommend getting a car as it would be so much easier to get about to places. Hope this has been helpful. Collapse
