This was by far the best hotel we stayed in. We will be using this brand again and hopefully the hotel again. We were looked after from start to finish and felt special. Thank you for an amazing holiday.

My family have just returned from the Double Tree By Hilton and to be quite frank would never return there ! it is awful in just about every aspect that I can think of -nothing is as described and service /food and drink quality are all at best 3/4 star - this hotel has no resemblance to any Hilton hotel we have ever used before and frankly is at best a poor 4 star hotel. To list all the problems and complaints we have would take too long however I sample some of the situations We booked a Bay club beach front room dine around all inclusive package . The rooms are good size and acceptable however the walls are paper thin 3 nights we could not sleep due to people staying up on balconies with kids and general sounds from rooms above and below. I twice went to reception on 2 separate nights to complain and was met by other irate individuals who also were complaining of noise and disorderly behaviour in the rooms! The all inclusive dine around is a joke -we got a red/orange bangle which gives you supposedly all inclusive choice however you get 1 choice of beer -a Becks can -usually not chilled - -anything else you will pay there is no draft and without paying there is no other choice -there are a selection of awfully made cocktails which are frankly not drinkable and a house white /red wine which is basic at best -poured from a jug - spirits are local brands and ok. Dine around means you can go in a number of restaurants and have a choice on a special menu -which has only 2 choices on each course -needless to say all better options are not on the menu and-you guessed are chargeable ! Iiterally goes on and on -lunch buffet /dinner buffet are virtually identical and frankly boring and repetitive with no real fish or sea food on offer. Sunbeds are all taken by 9.30 am -even though often they are reserved but not being used! main sun beds left are literally on the beach in full glare of the 40 degree sun It was not a good stay -it has even put us off returning to Dubai again it really was that bad. I stayed at this resort at the end of June beginning of July and thoroughly enjoyed the break, the staff are attentive, the pools are clean, the rooms are ample big enough with flat screen TV, small balcony, tea & coffee making facilities and a large bathroom. The resort is enormous with lots of restaurants, bars, different areas of accommodation and pools. There is the main hotel, the bay club, the villas, the quest rooms. We were in the quest room which has it's own pool..what a great area. It was very quiet here especially as we were only bed and breakfast, it seemed to keep away many of the all inclusive people as there was no bar area. Nothing against all inclusive but it does turn some people into a different beast than they would normally be. A warm baked choc chip cookie on arrival was a nice touch but even better was the lovely receptionist who found us a room that was ready by 10.00 so we were at the pool by 11. There are golf carts to take you back and forth to the main hotel reception should you require them, you can also phone a book them from your room. There are 2 complimentary bottles of water in your room daily, but larger bottles water can be purchased at the Al Hamra Mall in the supermarket, which saves you paying 18 dirhams (about £4.00)for a large bottle with a Hilton label, had it been more reasonable I would of purchased a lot more. Breakfast is wonderful either go early or towards the end of service, that way you are not competing with people who are filling up flasks with fruit juice or bags with food!! They will also make cappuccinos or lattes instead of the filter coffee which is offered at breakfast. There is ice cold naturally flavoured water in the reception area which is a very nice touch. We ate at the hotel one evening which was a Indian buffet, great value but not sure hummus is an Indian dish, but once again the all inclusive (green/brown/white) wristbands seem to have never eaten in the real world. Apart from the pool at the guest rooms my second favourite place was the Islanders Coffee shop, (Starbucks) peaceful, friendly staff and fabulous coffee!! Just outside the main entrance. Downside.. Although a hairdryer is probably not required in the heat, the wire is too short for the mirror so you are unable to style your hair if needed, housekeeping times are somewhat erratic. And it would of been nice to have an ice machine located in the guest rooms either on each floor or just one in the foyer of the guest rooms. Marjan island itself is very quiet and peaceful even though there is building work taking place across the road, I think Ras al Khamiah is a lovely area, much quieter than Dubai itself but for me that was a plus as I have already done the tourist bit in Dubai. But a wonderful stay, I would go back. Collapse

The great stuff - quality of the rooms in the Bay Club, the staff, the location and the selection of pools. The not-so-great stuff is the choice and quality of food at the buffet, the lack of available sunbeds at any pool especially at the Bay Club and restrictions around the all-inclusive option. We would go again but would select the all-inclusive (extra) option and maybe get out of bed earlier to secure a bed by the pool. Collapse
