This was a decent hotel with an exceptional staff. Upon check-in I was given some water and cookies and snacks -- a really nice touch for the Hilton Honors members. Check-in was very quick and the service was excellent right from the get go. I was on the 8th floor with an ocean view in a one bedroom suite. Great room in terms of space. The only major issue was the balcony doors -- very hard to open and close, the tracks are all worn out and screwed up. I never even used the bedroom balcony access doors as I was never even able to get those ones to open. I didn't even bother to complain about this issue since it really couldn't be a quick fix and I wasn't into changing rooms. The room had its good and bad but it was just fine. I experienced three issues in the room and each time I complained to the front desk about these issues they were addressed with a quick response, an apology and a smile. All three issues were resolved within an hour. The bed was extremely comfortable and this room was crazy quiet at all times. Great place to get some good rest. There was no outside noise from anything at any time. The absolute best part of this resort was the employees. Everyone was so nice and happy and courteous: front desk, waitress in restaurant, pool/beach manager and workers, maintenance workers, housekeepers, concierge, valet attendants. Everyone. Because of this it was easy to overlook the minor issues. The beach was really nice but the chairs are all crammed together like on a cruise boat. It was explained to us that it's a public beach and the hotel only has a certain amount of space to put their chairs before the locals start to complain. When we got chairs in the first row we moved them closer to the ocean and we had to move them back to the hotel chair area after the employees noticed we moved them. No big deal but the locals come and all set up all kinds of crazy tents and put their towels right in front of the hotel chairs so most of the time we couldn't see the ocean from our chairs which is a bummer. Also weird was the fact that the chairs were set up by 8:30 on most mornings but you can not use them until 9:00 a.m. so you just stand around and look at them. And it's also worth it to note that you will not get a beach chair on your check-in day -- even though you paid the resort fee for the entire week. There is no good system for the towels. We got towels every day and only 2x were we asked our room number. It didn't seem like anyone was actually keeping track of them -- as long as I wasn't getting charged for them I did not care. The pool area was small and was always active with families. We Ubered it around town for very good rates. FLL to hotel was $25; Joe's Stone Crab $25; downtown Miami $22. We also took the bus outside of the hotel and that was fine for $2.25 per person. There is Walgreen's and Milam's Market within close walking distance. Milam's will deliver if you order the groceries from their App. The kitchen had stuff but not everything to prepare a meal but whatever I needed I requested and it was delivered immediately. We ordered a delivery pizza and salad from Il Ponte Vecchio which was advertised on something in the room. Horrible and expensive -- I will review that separately. It was pretty full for the week we visited -- 4th of July holiday but only on the beach did we feel the crowds -- never in the hotel. We had a great week at this comfortable resort. Collapse

The hotel is good, is in sunny isles, which is a great beach, a familiar place and quiet. The rooms in the hotel have digferent owners so the apartment depends of the owner, which i think is not a good option, now im staying in the hotel for the second time, this time i find the apartment awful, old and dirty. The kitchen doesn't have everything is needed, and the washing machine is shared with other room which makes ir a little bit uncomfortable. It has wifi that works terrible and they change the password every 4 days more or less... so the beach is great, the neighbourhood is very pretty with gorgeous hotel buildings and facilities nearby. The hotel is just good, so you must be lucky with the apartment you stay in. I think the hotel should put more rules so that the apartments look alike, because years ago the one we stayed is was new and bright. Collapse

After contemplating where to stay in Miami we chose The Doubletree Oceanpoint. It was the best decision. Everything was perfect from check in to check out. We were upgraded to a very spacious 1 bedroom suite and it accommodated my family of 4 perfectly. It was clean with a large balcony with view of the beach/Ocean. Everyone who works at this hotel goes out of their way to ensure that you are happy. Shout out to Christian and Rebecca who clearly love their jobs and have great customer service skills! I loved everything about this hotel and didn't want to leave! Collapse
