My wife, daughter, and I spent five nights at the DoubleTree by Hilton New Orleans. The location of the hotel cannot be beat. It's close to everything. Parking is tough in this area and I was fine using the valet but beware if you leave at a busy time. Your car may get boxed into the very small area and you'll have to wait to get out. We encountered a few minor issues during our stay which were quickly resolved with the exception of the television. I called the front desk to inquire about the loss of signal and they said that they always lose signal when it rains. However, ours never really came back. The font desk worker said that she would call maintenance if anyone else called to complain about it too. The front office staff was very helpful and friendly but they always seemed understaffed. I always had to wait to talk to them even during quieter times. At one point, I called down to have my car brought up by the valet and the phone rang for over a minute before anyone picked up, The food at the hotel restaurant was good but the service was REALLY slow. It seemed as if there was one waitress for the whole place. The breakfast buffet was good ....as it should be for that price ($18). My daughter loved the pool. It was very murky but nothing that you wouldn't see swimming in a lake or ocean. Towels were supposed to be available poolside but, as you probably guessed, they weren't always there. A hot tub would've been nice too. Overall, the hotel was okay but not ready for the major leagues yet. Collapse

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night after a cruise. We arrived at the hotel very early - around 10:00 am. They were very busy at the front desk but greeted us warmly. They did not have a room ready for us, but they stored our bags and contacted us via text message when the room was ready. It only took them about 2 hours to have a room ready. It was very clean and neat. Really enjoyed the cookies. It is a great location on Canal street. You can walk to a lot of the area attractions. I would stay here again. Collapse

We arrived on 7/5 in the afternoon and unloaded with valet parking and bellhop. Friendly staff but valet pkg was $55 for SUV - would have parked in a lot just across the street on the north side of the hotel. No in and out of pkg area but you can with valet but it takes 20 mins to get your car - if you are just staying in the downtown area, just park in the lot yourself - it costs like $30 a day. We stayed in room 1113 and the bathroom had a horrible sewer like smell - we thought it would go away so we left the door open as we went out. I did tell the front desk when we left about the problem and they were supposed to check it out. We came back to find the bathroom door closed and the stink was still there - no msg from front desk and no offer to switch rooms. Very disappointing. The breakfast buffet was very high for what is offered - we passed and had ala carte - still was $64 for 4 people for breakfast. The worst was the pool on the 4th floor outside - it was cloudy and not pleasant our first time - we skipped the 2nd time since it wasn't clean or clear looking. We stayed here because the pool was actually one of the nicer ones we saw online but I don't think anyone was paying attention to the area as there were never fresh towels outside by the pool. It is a good location close to the aquarium and right across the street from Harrahs. It is right down the street from the French Qtr and easy walk. I would likely not stay here again since there are several other Hilton hotels in the area. We did talk to the mgr when we left and got a credit to our room for 1/2 of our stay for the problems we had with the room but that was AFTER we stayed 2 nights with a stinky bathroom! When we left, we were told that you could not get your own luggage cart and you had to wait on bell staff - we waited for 20 minutes for bell person after going to the lobby and asking for a cart and then the bell hop said I'll be right up - 20 mins later he showed after I called back to the bell desk to ask where he was. In addition, the phone did not work right - the only button that would work on the phone was the O - operator button went to the front desk. Collapse
Can't justify it

**Long but truthful review** I booked this hotel after search aimlessly for a perfect hotel for a vacation. I'm a Hilton Honors Gold member and figured I would rather get the points than do an airbnb plus the cookies are fabulous. Snagged the room at a lower rate after a 3rd party had a cheaper rate and Hilton price matched (plus 25% off) Yes! So needless to say, I was stoked. A hotel, on Canal, for less than 400 for 3 nights? Winner. I requested foam pillows, a tin of cookies and an upgrade before my arrival. Upon check in, I am greeted by James (he is WONDERFUL & extremely knowledgeable of the area). I simply said my name and he knew who I was and had my reservation ready = YES. Check in was breeze, he provided me bottled water and cookies. Get to my room, lovely letter from the manager with one set of vouchers (should of been two as it's one per person per day) No worries. Checked the bed and there are stains all over my duvet... NOT OKAY. I go downstairs on my way out for the night, inform James and was told there are no more sheets/duvets he apologizes... WHAT? After a night of fun, I come to my room, peel the sheets back to crash and there are two bugs in my bed... again, NOT OKAY. I strip the bed and sleep on the mattress protector. This is also when I find out my pillows are not foam but feather. At this point, I don't care, I just attempted to sleep for the night (fail) Next morning, head out on a tour and receive a message from Michael via the Hilton App (DOWNLOAD THIS! Best feature and easy to talk to hotel) He's a manager at the hotel inquiring on my stay from 1 to 10 scale. I sorely gave him a 5 and broke down prior nights events. He asks for my room # and gets to work. I head back to my room to find it clean, feather-free and free of stains = THANK YOU! I receive a knock on the door with Michael on the other side apologizing and ensuring I was 1000% satisfied with everything. He gave me a complimentary tin of cookies and a hand written note along with free entrees, appetizers and drinks at the in-hotel restaurant (another fail, see review for WOW) So now I am happy and things are getting much better. SLEPT GREAT THAT NIGHT! The next day, no issues, I tried to get additional water from the front desk (I thought it was 2 per day but it's really 2 per stay) so that was a flop. Upon check out I received my folio and noticed 3 nights worth of parking charges... I DIDN'T HAVE A CAR. So I am currently handling this battle with the hotel presently. They removed the charges on the folio however here I am the day after my trip and received another charge of $45 for parking/fees and no refund as of yet. I do know this past weekend the hotel was busy with a Beach Body convention but even still, I would expect this property be able to function with little to no issues. I thank the heavens for Michael, without his assistance I would of left this property mid-stay. Personally, I will not be staying at this location when I visit New Orleans again. The location is PERFECT (15 min walk to Cafe Du Monde) but it missed the mark. Collapse

I woke up two mornings with a sore back and found that one side of the bed was either damaged or worn out. I moved to the other side which was better but the danage had already been done. I repeatedly reported tgis to the front desk but she chose to argue with me about how the hotel had beenbreconditioned and that the beds were new. As I was doing double duty for a convention with 18+ hour days, I did not have time to argue. She stated that she would have soneone look at my bed but tyst never happened. Collapse
