Considering there was numerous events on that weekend, hotel was quiet and little one slept through the night. Staff were friendly and helpful. Amenities were close by and range of food outlets nearby if you fancied something different to the hotel

We stayed one night 21st May 2017, we even upgraded to pitch view! At extra cost. Lovely surroundings . We booked the V7 restaurant for 7.30pm the receptionist explained with difficulties to where it was as we couldn't understand her accent. We had 2 phone calls from reception once in our room, 1 ) asking was the room ok! 2 ) confirming breakfast would be in the restaurant, at both times I had difficulty understanding this lady even when checking in as she had to repeat herself as her foreign accent was strong, we leave for the restaurant only to find it closed after walking half way around the stadium, we eventually find a corridor telephone and ring reception to find out from another receptionist that it is closed and we should go to the pitch side restaurant! My husband is in need of a hip replacement!!! We were thoroughly looked after by several waiters which was very nice but didn't take away the upset of 30 minutes walk just to find the restaurant!. The meal was delicious. This morning we had trouble with the shower once underneath it goes hot to cold and no in between!! Which isn't great, especially when trying to wash ones hair!, Breakfast was exceptional! When checkout the same receywith the strong accent was on duty and asked how was our stay??, my husband explained it wasn't great! This lady asked why and she chose to argue with me about why she telephoned and I explained about her accent and didn't understand her, we went onto say about the shower, she asked if we rang down for someone to attend to it? How can you when you are under the shower????? she never apologised and she did offer any compensation So we have left very disappointed as honours members! We travel a lot all over the world and have never experienced this in any of your hotels before. Collapse
Was not disappointed

Lovely hotel with very spacious room. They welcome you with warm gorgeous cookie. TV in room works.. bonus!! Plenty of plugs than what other hotels offer, plug right beside bed stand for phone and many more around the room. Coffee tea kettle etc. Lovely clean bathroom. As is large hotel our room was quite far away so would recommend you ask where your room is before arriving if cannot walk far Lots of restaurants and shops around and also a cinema all in walking distance. Highly recommend the hotel due to its convenience and free parking. Collapse

Take your sport shoes as you need to walk long distance to your room due to the design of the building. This applies to 90 percent of the rooms. Avaiod the Resturant due to its poor cleanses, quality of food and very poor service.

The best things about this hotel is Sally who is one of the managers in the restaurant. Sally is old school and believes in customer service and nothing at all is to much trouble for her. If the Hilton could clone Sally and staff this hotel completely with Sally's it would be the best hotel ever. So I was staying in a room overlooking the pitch which at first sounds wonderful unfortunately there are no windows in those rooms and you cant open the doors to let in fresh air. There is air con (which is simple to operate) but IMO you can't beat an open window to let fresh air into a room at night. The sink initially was blocked and when it was reported it was quickly unblocked. House keeping however need to improve. The beds were not properly made (ie the sheets were not smoothed out), all that was done was the duvet (which wasn't particularly warm/thick) was smoothed out. Also the sink (although this could be due to the blockage) was not properly cleaned as traces of toothpaste were visible.in trhe sink.Unusually for a hotel of this size there were no additional blankets in the room although I am sure that had we asked they would have been provided. Having sung Sallys praised there is one thing even she can't fix and that is the repetitveness of the menu. We stayed for three nights and the menu was the same every evening. A choice of six starters six mains and deserts. IU do believe however that a Marco Pierre White restaurant will be opening at the venue shortly and that may well help alleviate this problem, If you want a steak however you'll be out of luck as they just do not offer them. I'd also advise if you want to eat in the restaurant to book early as they like to stagger diners throughout the evening. The alternative is that they will ask you to pre-order your meal. Collapse
