After encountering bed bugs at the best western seraphine Kensington hotel down the street, we arrived at this hotel about 1 am, irritated and exhausted. Alberto and another member (who I can't recall his name) were the most welcoming people. They gave us cookies! And gave us a free voucher for breakfast to make up for a terrible stay at the other hotel. They were so kind and quickly got us to our room. I really can't say enough about how wonderful this staff was. They didn't have to be so kind. They could have just not had bug beds and I would have been happy. They went above and beyond what was required. For our next trip to London, we already know who we will book with and will not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Collapse

We spent 3 nights here for our Honeymoon in London. We were greeted with a warm welcome from the front desk staff when we checked in, including a congratulations card. Very impressed with the room which was spacious and had all the amenties that you could want, our room was on the 5th floor and overlooked the front. I had arranged for champagne and strawberries dipped in chocolate to be in the room for my new wife, and this was a lovely surprise for her which we both enjoyed. Dealing with the reservations dept was very easy to get this arranged. Breakfast at the hotel was plentiful and offered a full choice, whether you wanted continental or the full english breakfast, we ate there every morning and certainly enjoyed it. They use the built in Urban Meadow cafe/bar for breakfast service. We also used the room service for food on the first evening, food came promptly and was very ice. Location of hotel is superb, just cross the road and you are in Kensington Park/Hyde Park. We went for a walk one morning and turned the corner and discovered kensington Palace just minutes from the hotel. There are 3 tube stations within easy walking distance, Queensway, Bayswater and Notting Hill which gives you access to anywhere you want to go really like I said location is brilliant. We also had a fire alarm go off on one evening when we were their around midnight, and that was dealt with in a professional manner. The following morning there were notices from the management about what happened so that was good. We would certainly stay at the hotel again and would recommend it for standard of rooms, politeness of staff and the location. Collapse

This hotel is competitively priced. I have stayed several times - please see my review “Leisurely Value” (26 September 2014) and "Value by the Park" (February 2016). The Hotel has a good location next to Hyde Park / Kensington Gardens and close to Central and Circle underground lines and bus stops for buses for Oxford Street / Bond St shopping. It is also easy to get to the business district and to the City Airport and Heathrow Airport. If your destination is the City of London then there are more convenient hotels. This hotel is not a business hotel. Guests and hotel focus are tourist / leisure visitors. This hotel was refurbished about 4 years ago when it became a Hilton Doubletree hotel but is still in good condition. The bedrooms are on the small side, but have iPod docking stations, Nespresso machines, free wi-fi and nice bed-linen and a good mattress. I slept well. TV channels include European, Arab, Russian and Indian channels but limited sports channels. Room Tip: Try to avoid floors 1 and 2 which share an elevator and therefore luggage has to be carried up or down a few stairs. Room Tip: odd number rooms tend to have the better views - even number rooms face west and north. 01 - 11 numbered rooms face directly towards Hyde Park but there is some traffic noise. Food: nothing special, but not bad, especially salads. Portions on the large side. The hotel has a small gym but Hyde Park is great for a run or walk or biking. Would I return? Yes. Prices are usually fair value and the bedroom is fine Collapse

Very helpful on arrival. Great location and lovely clean fresh rooms. Food is good and reasonably priced. Very close to Queensway subway and local pubs and restaurants. Overall a nice hotel albeit a little on the pricey side @£220 per night.
