Double Tree Biscayne Bay is a hidden gem!

Absolutely loved my stay! This hotel is a hidden gem. Let everyone else fight over the other hotels, I'm going back to this one! The location was great with marina views and the staff goes out of their way to be helpful!

Nearby Hilton undergoing renovations & since I am a Hilton Honors member I chose this property. When we entered our room we were impressed by the decor and the view of the sea. Very quiet surroundings, comfortable mattress and great pillows. Since we chose a room with a view we had a nice balcony with table and chairs. Best of all it had a large regular shower- no shower over tub. Not a good first impression- only room door on floor with so many paint nicks. The only negative is that since this is in a condo development there are no restaurants associated with the hotel. There is a food arcade with eclectric restaurants. The hotel website was deceiving since it implies all the restaurants onsite are the hotel's and are much better than the really are. Restaurants are not very appealing-even Starbucks was yucky. Primos is a very good restaurant for dinner- we had a great dinner here. Best place for breakfast is 81/2 caffe because it is connected with the Hilton Honors program. Collapse

Can't really say this is a great hotel but it definitely met our needs. We paid extra for a bayview room and it was worth the extra cost for the great view. Room had a small balcony with enough room for two chairs and a table. Excellent view of Biscayne Bay, a marina below the hotel, cruise ships in the distance, the Venetian Causeway, and Miami Beach in the distance. The picture of the hotel is a bit misleading. The first nine floors of the building are the hotel floors and the rest of the upper floors are condos. The best part about this hotel is its location. Easy ten minute access to the city of Miami Beach via the Venetian Causeay, a two block walk to the Metromover station, which you can take to wherever you need to go in downtown Miami, and two block walk to Publix. Also, there was a small shopping mall attached to the hotel. The hotel was quiet, although we stayed overnight on a weekday, and the bed was comfortable. One thing we found strange was that there was no clock in our room. Not sure if it was missing or the rooms don't have a clock. Front desk service could have been a little bit friendlier but they were efficient. Overall, would stay here again if the price is right. Collapse

I forget to review this but after an awful experience this past weekend at another Doubletree I should. Not much more can be said, this hotel was what I expect from Hilton Group. We stayed 7 nights wish it had been more. We were treated superbly by everyone from reception, to room attendants to security, everyone bar none. The hotel was a little way out but the trams ran right outside to the centre and bus station toward south beach ocean drive etc. We ate breakfast and dinner at the varied restaurants/cafes in site very one gave great standards. We were lucky to have upgraded as HHonors members and had a suite wow I could live in this. What a difference the customer service was compared to UK hiltons, I can't speak highly enough about this property. Thank you to all, sorry it took so long Collapse

My husband and I stayed at this hotel back in August of 2014. As the wife of a past employee of Hilton at another Doubletree property, we were ashamed of this property. When we made the reservations to stay here, having looked at the property via Google Maps, we asked about where we would be parking our car and was informed that this property only had Valet parking available and that it would be a fee of $29 per 24hr period, which as it turned out was less expensive than any other parking structure near by. The men working this section were less than cordial or professional. Upon checking into the hotel itself, we were informed that to use the wireless internet would be costing us $9.95 per day. We get up to our room and begin to explore. Our room had a balcony so we decided to check it out. I tripped over the walk through because there was a 6 inch step over that we were not informed of. I ended up with a huge bruise across the entire top of my right foot. One of the things we also noted is that this room had no "Black Out" curtains. These are the heavy, thick curtains that hotels/motels have in the rooms that allow the guest to keep the sun and other bright light from getting into the rooms and disturbing the sleep of the guest. Our room did not have any of these. The curtains provided were white shears for very minimal privacy, and they were filthy! Later that night, while settling in to relax to prepare for sleep we lost all television service & wifi (which we paid for). We called down to the front desk, was told that they would send someone up. No one ever came up. Then an extreme lightening storm set down on top of our hotel and with no "black outs" the flashes of lightening kept us both awake. Over the two mornings that we stayed there, I woke up each morning with bug bites on my body. We did tell the front desk about the loss of tv & wifi the first night and they did remove the charge of the first night and gave us wifi the second night for free. WE WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY TO ANYONE WE KNOW!!!! The only reason we stayed here was because we were given a 2 night stay for free. And to add insult to injury, this hotel called my husband's boss claiming that we were loud and obnoxious and complained too much, when all we did was let them know about whatever problems arose, and got my husband suspended from company benefits for over a year.
