The room I stayed in was nice big and clean. The bed was comfortable however the food and service are average. Free wifi is great but the location is out of town and the hotel is too expensive for what it is.

It’s a new and modern hotel. Infrastructures are excellent, but certain choices impact on the quality and the comfort. The hotel is a 11-story building of recent construction. Design is pleasant, infrastructures are fully satisfactory, fixtures and appliances are good. I stayed in a very comfortable “suite”: it was equipped with all expected amenities (safe; coffee making facilities; ironing facilities; refrigerator and minibar; bathroom with shower plus an ample tub; generous supply of bath towels, toiletries and bathrobes; etc.); surprisingly, drinking water was not supplied. Bed and bedding were excellent. The TV has channels from many countries. Breakfast is really outstanding: variety and quality of the products make it one of the best in the Doubletree chain. Personnel is efficient and communication in English is easy. The management willingly recognizes the privileges of the Hhonors programme and I was automatically upgraded to a suite: I am grateful for this bonus. Among the negative aspects, the most critical point is air conditioning, which appears controlled by the hotel and not by the guest. I was there at mid-October and the temperature in my room was extremely high. The staff directed me to switch off the air conditioning and open the window, since no other option was available. Unfortunately, the window is of the hopper type (or vasistas), and can only be opened a few centimetres: this was not sufficient to lower the temperature. Furthermore, although I wanted to keep the air conditioning turned off, the hotel reactivated it automatically at given hours of the day. In this way, I spent 5 uncomfortable nights in an exceedingly hot environment. I think that it would be wise to allow wide opening of the windows, by unlocking them. Next point. Opening the window at night (as I was obliged to do) caused an invasion of aggressive mosquitos. On the morning I informed the reception of this fact and they promised to fix the problem for the next night; but at night I learned that they were unable to provide, due to the lack of appropriate products. As a consequence, we were obliged to go out ourselves in search of a shop selling insecticides; on a Saturday night. The third point concerns the business centre: there are two computers and a printer, but the keyboards are local variants of the international ones, and the operating system is unable to recognize a lot of keys. It would be desirable that that at least one computer is equipped with an international keyboard and the operating system is appropriately set to recognize it. The hotel is located on a major communication road, about 3 kilometres northeast of the city centre. It is a peripheral area which has little to offer in terms of restaurants, cafes, shops, etc.; there are a couple of supermarkets within a short distance from the hotel. Yet the area is pleasant, and moving around is very easy, since a dozen of bus and trolley lines stop near the hotel. Particularly useful are: bus # 39 to the historic centre (every 20 minutes), bus # 74 to the railway station and bus # 78 to the bus station “Mlinské Nivi”. Collapse
