Tufts Medical rate was applied to our reservation which allowed us to arrive a day early with the impending nor'easter blizzard for my mother's heart catherization and drs. appts for me. It made the entire process less stressful and allowed us not to drive 4 hours after a heart procedure. My mom was wheeled right to the Doubletree elevator by the cath lab med asst. Unbelievable and helpful. Thank you. All personnel were extremely polite and helpful. Collapse

3.5/5 I stayed here for 5 nights for business. It’s located a short 6 miles away from Boston Logan airport, about a 15 minute drive with no traffic and 30 minute drive with traffic. As other reviews have noted, it is located right next to a hospital (Tufts Medical Center). I probably heard sirens go off a total of 3 times during my stay, but they happened during the day and were not continuous. They were never an annoyance during my stay. I wish I could give this place a higher rating because the staff was near excellent, but there were a few things that could have been better. Pros: Friendly staff – check in was quick and efficient, and the staff, including the housekeepers, greet you with a genuine smile. Location – less than 5 minute walk to Chinatown and other restaurants, 12 minute walk to Boston Commons. There’s a small Chinese grocery store on Harrison Ave. (5 minute walk) if you need to stock up on things, otherwise there’s a CVS/Walgreens a 10 minute walk away. Fast, reliable WIFI Clean gym with new machines and treadmills, up to 50lb free weights, pull-up bar. Small space for stretching though. Free access to YMCA located next door. YMCA can be accessed by walking across rooftop on 2nd floor from hotel. Fully stocked gym with basketball courts and pool. Just need room key and ID. Very nice deal. Cons: -This is a smaller hotel, and the check in desk is accessed by having to walk through the lobby’s restaurant and bar. It is a bit awkward to walk through crowds of people during happy hour. -We were snowed in for 1 night during a blizzard, and the hotel staff did as good of a job as they can making sure all guests were comfortable. As a matter of fact, they did an excellent job, especially the staff at the restaurant, where it seemed majority of the guests were looking to eat and they were understaffed. During that time, however, I ordered take out and was told it should take less than an hour. I also asked to make sure they wouldn’t run out of food and the lady said not to worry. It took about an hour and 20 minutes for my food to arrive, but the order was wrong (I had ordered the Burger with goat cheese and bacon, but got just a meat patty w/cheddar cheese between 2 buns) and it did not taste that good – too dry. Granted, they were nice enough to deliver the food to my room and taking into account that they were slammed and understaffed, this can be swept under the rug. -Bad TV connection – this is perhaps the biggest issue I had and prevents this from being a 4 or 5 star review. Every night, around 9pm, the TV connection went bad. Every channel would be pixelated with the audio choppy and delayed. The 1st night, I figured it was the weather interfering with the connection and did not say anything. The 2nd night, I decided to call the front desk and they said they would send an engineer. Instead, a security staff came up to take a look which was absolutely useless – the guy had no idea why or what to do. For me, having a TV that doesn’t work is the same as having a running toilet or a shower with no hot water. Before choosing to stay here again, I would probably look at other options. Collapse

Purpose of our trip was daughter’s 3 day volleyball tournament. After playing all day from 8am to 3pm, we returned to the room. In addition to her exhaustion, I was deathly ill. We Both desperately needed to sleep before team dinner at 7:30. We put the Do Not Disturb on the door. At 4:45, we were awoken by the maid repeatedly knocking on the door. Then she used her key and just walked in. When I stated my objection, she nastily gave her explanation, without so much as an apology. Train your staff better, and teach them the word Sorry! (also, right next to Tufts Medical = lots of sirens in the middle of the night) Collapse

A friend and I visited Boston for her Birthday weekend. We arrived late at night. The man at the front desk was very kind and informative at midnight. He gave us a map of the city gave us a few trips handed us a bag with bottles of water and a cookie and we were off to our room. Our room was on the 6th floor is was very quiet! Our room was a great size, housekeeping did a great job everyday, and staff greeted us every time we left or came in. If you are a walker you will be able to walk to most places. We walked almost everywhere (Trail of Tears, TD Garden, Cheers,Beacon Hill etc) in February and when we needed a ride, it was super easy to catch a ride with Uber. I’d definitely stay here again because of the wonderful staff! Collapse
