We stayed at this hotel for one night. We chose this hotel because we were returning from Paris by train. This hotel is a 3-5 minute walk from Centraal Station. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a great location and within walking distance of a lot of attractions. Also, since Centraal Station is nearby, most tram lines have stops at the station. I would definitely stay here again for a longer stay. Collapse
Rude staff ruined lovely hotel

The hotel lovely. Brilliant location and very clean. The lady who checked us in and out was very rude and unhelpful. People with this sort of attitude who act like you are burdening them if you have a question should not be on a front desk

Hotel was perfect as walking distance from the main station and easy access to other locations . Hotel was great but found the roof top sky lounge a bit over priced for drinks . Hotel was very clean and well maintained with friendly helpful staff.

Myself and my partner (early 20's) stayed at this hotel for 2 nights from 24th to 26th March 2017. I booked the Hilton Doubletree Central Station through recommendation from family and also because we have stayed in several Doubletree's around the world previously (ie. London, UK and Cairns, Australia) and we have always been impressed with the standard of quality and good value for money. The reviews on TripAdvisor from previous guests were good also (I know you have to take some things with a pinch of salt as everyone has different tastes and opinions but the majority favoured this hotel). I have to say, I was left extremely dis-heartened on the Sunday morning when we checked out. I booked the trip for my partner's 25th birthday so it had put a bit of a dampener on the celebrations. Yes, there were good points of the hotel - 1) Great location from the station and very accessible to the main attractions Amsterdam has to offer. 2) Welcomed with the signature cookie which was a nice touch 3) Great evening meal at the Eastwood Restaurant (food a little pricey, but my partner said it was the best steak he had ever had so definitely worth it if it is a special occasion). Nice atmosphere and good service too. 4) Sky Lounge Bar, great views over the city…obviously gets busy in the evenings, but plenty of seating on the outside terrace. Upon check-in, we received a complimentary drinks voucher each which was thoughtful. Now for the bad points… 1) Reception staff were quite rude upon check in (the girl we were checked in by was in training, so possibly customer service skills needed to be improved upon!) 2) Breakfast very over-priced and poor, bland selection. For a 4* hotel, I felt the breakfast was certainly lacking in selection and flavour! I would honestly say a Premier Inn breakfast beats this by a mile! 3) Room was DIRTY! This is what really pushed us over the edge…we noticed that our bed headboard had a 'white dribble stain' on. (I'm sure you can understand what I am implying here…?). But, when in Amsterdam I guess? I went and spoke with reception, and someone did come and clean it up straight away, but the damage had already been done unfortunately. 4) Breakfast manager RUDE! Unfortunately on the first morning of breakfast - I noticed there was a hair in my breakfast. I alerted the waitress close to us who immediately apologised. The last morning, my partner also had found a hair in the breakfast - he went and spoke with the breakfast manager and asked for an explanation. She was very abrupt and offered no apology-nothing. She had said that the hairs were from the mushrooms (I can understand if they were flat mushrooms, but these were little button, tinned mushrooms!). Never in my whole experience of having mushrooms for dinner or in a breakfast etc, have I ever encountered this. My partner also owns a farm shop which sells a wide variety of fruit and vegetables, and he too has never encountered this! Her explanation was pretty much, lump it or leave it….which we were not overly impressed when we had made the mistake of spending 20Euros each per day for breakfast. Overall, we loved Amsterdam itself - but we can say for definite that we certainly will not be returning to this hotel. Simply put, very over priced and very poor standard for such a well known (and used to be well loved by us) hotel chain. Collapse
