Stayed here recently while visiting 2 adult children who live in Aberdeen. Outside of building and entrance lobby seemed OK on arrival. Decor a bit dull and dated. Found room which had separate sitting area and bedroom. Not enough hanging space or drawers. Decor again dated. Bed very uncomfortable certainly didn't feel like a mattress. Overheated and quite small. Complimentary tray very sparse and only refuelled with fancy teas. Had to ask several times for extras. Lot of noise from air conditioners outside. Toilet exceptionally noisy all the time. Breakfast was a joke, although glass of fresh orange juice on arrival at restaurant was a nice touch. Cooked food cold and overcooked, no milk jug on our table but on others, ran out of food frequently, not enough staff to cope with wedding guests the morning after the night before. All in all I would lay the blame for all that is wrong with this hotel at the management's doorstep. Not impressed and wil not return. Collapse

Stayed here for the weekend for for a Valentine's "treat" and was left pretty disappointed overall. The room we were given was not served by the lift so we had to carry our bags up to the top floor only to be met by a disappointingly poky, drab and cold room. Couldn't tell if it was one of the rooms that had been refurbished, but I didn't see any areas that looked recently done at all so was unable to compare. The walls are really thin and we could hear our neighbours when they were in the bathroom and i presume they could hear us too! On the face of it the room seemed quite clean but on closer inspection there was dust and long dark hairs on the skirting board, long hairs on the bathroom floor and hairs in the bath (not the long variety!!) My advice, keep your socks on or take your slippers. The bed was clean but not very comfortable at all....would have given anything for a Premier Inn bed. The radiator wasn't working but they had provided a plug in heater however, it was in the way wherever you plugged it in. After being woken early up by a swarm of rowdy seagulls screeching on the roof, we went for breakfast which was OK, when we eventually got a table. Went to go for a swim on the Saturday only to be informed the pool was closed as it was too cold. Another disappointment. The hotel is a good bit out from the city centre and we spent almost £40 in taxis. I'd rather have spent the money on another hotel that was closer to town. This hotel does not deserve the 4 star rating it holds and requires a good deal of work to bring it up to scratch. Collapse
Needs work, bit shoddy and dirty.....not Hilton standards.

Stayed with my other half for Valentines night and bit of a disappointment. Room was bit on small side and first impressions not good. Room refurbishment gone wrong. Bathroom was filthy, the shower curtain had nasty marks, rust running from the shower handle grip into the bath, some other nasty grime not cleaned, a toddler scribbling on the wallpaper with no attempt to clean it and a nasty stain at the side of the bedside lamp. Sheer gross. Remote control would not work, battery held in with table, requested another one and got offered the same. We complained and had to move room, not ideal as we only had an hour before heading out for a meal. Local Premier Inn would have been better standards. Beds are brick hard. Squeaky floorboards meant we were woken from early until late, not a great few nights stay or sleep, was glad to get home for a sleep. Visited 14/17/02/17 YB Valentines Day Aberdeen. Collapse

We first stayed here during a freak heat wave late in August and had to request a room change from a room which overlooked the central atrium to an outside room so that we could open the window for fresh air and cool the room down. We were told at Reception the hotel did not have air-conditioning. Apparently, with the expectancy of the hotel being close to the sea, the hotel always had a requirement to be heated up rather than to be cooled down. For the 2 or 3 days we stayed at the hotel we experienced remarkable hot weather which made the hotel slightly unpleasant during the night. The hotel is ideally situated next to a large open space which is frequently used for events such as, circuses and entertainment events. It is also a short walk to the sea for those bracing moments and situated just across the road from a shopping park which contains fairground amusements and a number of different restaurants. The walk into Aberdeen city centre is approximately 10-15 minutes. Having previously stayed at the hotel, we decided to return for a family Christmas lunch. The hotel and dining area was beautifully decorated and presented a nice atmosphere. The food was plentiful, tasty and enjoyable. The price was not unduly expensive and the staff were more than accommodating. If you feel this review has been helpful, please give a ‘Helpful Vote’. Collapse
