We were due to stay for 5 nights from 28th March. We checked out after 1 night. Our bedroom was revolting.. body hair in bath, cracked sink, holes in tiles and dust on carpet behind sofa bed that you could write your name in. The dirt on towel was from wiping bedside tables and shelves in wardrobe. Dust round edges of carpet and on skirting board. Not ideal when my son has an allergy to dust. Fridge wasn't on and safe was locked shut. Arrived 8.30pm and room was still being cleaned at 10pm after several complaints. Offered a £30 drink voucher as compensation. Was told by duty manager that we couldn't change rooms as hotel was full booked yet availability was still showing on booking.com. Not the standard I expect from a 4 star hotel. Will not consider this hotel again for future trips to Aberdeen. Collapse

Double Tree Hilton Aberdeen is in an excellent location for the science centre, a retail park, cinema, amusement park, swimming pool and a good choice of restaurants. Last but not least its proximity to a beautiful beach.

I have visited this hotel many times since 2005 first when it was the Patio hotel and then after when it became a Double trees by Hilton. The hotel has by large remained unchanged the rooms are dated compared to other doubletrees, over the years I have stayed in all room types from platinum club to standard doubles. I wouldn't recommend a standard double due to the small windows and the height of the window, premier is far better due to the larger windows. However hotel has an excellent location and free parking. I booked a room for 2 adults 1 child. Upon arrival at the hotel we were charged an extra bed charge for our 4yr old. Something that I was not charged in November when I stayed at the doubletrees @ Queensferry or by this hotel in August last year. I obviously was not happy at this charge especially since the bed we were being charge for was a z bed! I was told by the duty manager this was a new policy brought in by this hotel and it was clearly marked on the website and it was not his problem that I didn't read it. Their is a link for family policy in small print that you have to click on but as I had stayed fairly recently I didn't click on the policy. I explained my son wouldn't be able to sleep in the z bed and would have to sleep with us and was told that's your choice. Upon check out I raised this again with the receptionist who explained that that doubletrees by Hilton can be a franchise or a management hotel they are a management hotel they have a few policies that's the must follow and the freedom to bring in some policies as they wish and the extra bed charge was the policy this hotel and decided to introduce. So this explains the inconsistency with other doubletrees, however she did say had I said upon check in we wouldn't use the z bed and our son would sleep with us the extra charge would be refund. But as it wasn't offered by the manager when I mentioned the bed was unsuitable no refund could be given. I got engaged at the hotel, I got married in another Hilton hotel I'm utterly disgusted by this policy that this hotel has chosen to introduce, I'm sure they will lose customers as you can book a room for 3 in the jury's inn and your child gets a proper bed to sleep in, I'm guessing parking is something they can't charge for under the Hilton brand or is this the next extra charge. Finally if the extra charge doesn't bother you and you plan to stay at this hotel ask for a room at the back or a quite room I didn't do it this time I normal do make a point to ask as sunset boulevard is notorious for boy races cruising up and down the strip all ours with loud exhausting etc, this is the first time in years I forgot to request a quite room and it seems 10 years on the boy races culture is still strong in Aberdeen. We knew this was going to be a good stay when we were given a warm cookie when checking in. We were given room 206, it had a good view, it was clean and welcoming. It took about 10 minutes for the wall heater to warm the room, it was then ambient for the rest of the stay. The shower and WC were fine, the wife said better lighting for putting make up on would have been welcome. Staff were polite and friendly. The boy racers noisy exhausts were annoying in the early hours, there isn't a lot the hotel can do about that though. The breakfast was fantastic, plenty choice and very tasty, loved the little individual jam pots. I've stayed in other hotels in Aberdeen, I would defiantly stay here again Collapse

We stayed here as we were attending a birthday party nearby and were delighted with our decision On check-in we were informed that we had been upgraded and were whisked off to the Platinum Suites. The room had plenty of natural light, was quiet and the huge bed an absolute treat! The breakfast was hot and items were constantly being replaced so nothing looked old or stale. All the staff were friendly helpful and made us very welcome Collapse
