I was blown away by the attention to detail, the friendliness and the wonderful service we received from Jeremy, Agnes, Sam and all the staff at the Dorsett. I have stayed in many hotels and this lived up to and surpassed our expectations. The breakfasts were fantastic with a chef cooking your eggs the way you liked i.e. Sunnyside up or omelette with your choice of ingredients. The upgrade of the hotel has been done so beautifully and tastefully. We used the free shuttle bus to Central MTR, The exhibition centre & Causeway Bay daily. If only a small issue is the driving of some of the drivers but in true Hong Kong style you just hold on. We loved the Wine & Lolly night (the kids especially loved it). We booked directly with the hotel and their free inclusions of the mobile phone to use (and hotspot off) and free offer of the month (ours was a free dim sum meal at Michelin starred restaurant) plus a great advance booking discount we a fantastic bonus. My in-laws had a room with a view of Happy Valley Racecourse and this was amazing. In our room there was a welcome pack for the kids, robe & slippers (they could take the slippers home) and our girls collected a few teddy bears on the way. It didn't matter what time we left our room we always returned to it serviced perfectly. There was always fresh fruit and bottles of water free of charge left for us. There is a playground across the road (you just need to go via the subway outside the hotel entrance). 10 minute walk to Wan Chai and the Toy Markets or 20-30mins to Causeway Bay if you take a wrong turn like we did LOL! We definitely will make this our home away from home when we return to Hong Kong next. Thanks so much to all the team! Collapse

Stayed here for 3 nights on our way to Australia it is a ten minute walk from Wan Cia MTR, book in was OK and was pleased to learn we had been upgraded to a premier room that I had already booked!.The room was on the 10th floor facing an office wall and if you pressed your face to the window I was teased by a view of a corner of the race track opposite. The room was well appointed with modern furnishings, comfortable beds, nice linin all very clean bathroom small but adequate and plenty of hot water. The hotel is situated on a busy corner with traffic, as it is with most hotels in hong kong, The complimentary bus is very good and very punctual and does not wait.I did have a slight problem when I had an out of date schedule given to me and I missed the bus . The i-phone that the hotel loans you is very handy for finding your way around, Staff were all polite and friendly and yes i would stay again. Collapse

The room is great, aircond, internet... all are working as expected. Pls don't forget to book the room with horse racing view. Mine was another view, see photo. The hotel shutter bus was not good. The driver drove recklessly... If you want to try local food, then you probably need to walk for a distance... say about 1-2Km. There's a tram stop in front, pls try it ! it has a long history. you can use tram to go to the nearest subway . Collapse

We stayed here for 3 nights & it was the ideal base for exploring Hong Kong Island, within a 10 min walk of Wan Chai Market & the shopping areas. To travel further afield there is a free shuttle bus run by the hotel so it is easy to access the Star Ferry or Metro to visit Kowloon and local buses stop just by the hotel for you to visit the Peak. The trams are exceedingly cheap and cover the main shopping areas, so do give them a go - it's fun! The hotel itself has extremely attentive, helpful staff - the concierge will sort you out a taxi back to the airport which is not much more expensive than using public transport & saves the trouble of lugging cases etc on trains or the Metro. The rooms are compact, but this is Hong Kong where space is at a premium, but very clean & comfortable, with in-room safe, coffee making facilities and a well appointed bathroom. Collapse

We had a 3 night bed & breakfast stay here at the end of our Wendy Wu Jewels of Japan Tour. This hotel is on Hong Kong Island next to the Happy Valley Race Course. The hotel run courtesy buses which were a real help dropping us off at different destinations according to the timetable which was very efficient. Buffet breakfast was fine, plenty of choice with fresh fruit and pastries if you didn't want a cooked meal. Room was ok size wise, beds were comfy and they supplied tea/coffee making facilities, a fridge & a fold out ironing board in the wardrobe if you needed it. It's quite easy to get to Kowloon either on the metro or ferry and Temple Street Market is well worth a look. Don't pay the first price the stall holder says though as they quite readily drop the price!! Agnes Yau, the Assistant Front Office Manager was very helpful and friendly and she didn't try and rush us away. If you need any help or advice look for Agnes. The bell boys were very good at letting you know when the courtesy buses had arrived and helpful in making sure you got the right bus. They were also very helpful with our luggage on arrival and departure. All in all a pleasant stay. Collapse
