Just got back from 4 nights with my better half. Found hardly any faults with this place. Definitely worth the money we payed and it's location is possibly the best in the resort for access to restaurants, bars and a supermarket shop just across the road. Took us about 1 hour 20 mins transfer time with holiday taxis. Luckily we was the third hotel drop off as I believe some stayed on for another hour or so. Hotel itself looked really nice on arrival. Basic, white and clean. Check in wasn't the quickest as the staff seem to all chip in and run the front of house as well as the bar and take guests to rooms etc. We stayed in a top floor room, in the room was a decent walk in shower, nice firm but comfy beds, modern tv, free safe and a terrace balcony with sun loungers and the usual table and chairs etc. Had no problems with the room, and it was cleaned everyday and towels changed everyday. We had room 309 which kind of overlooked the bar/pool area , but couldnt see much but atleast it was better than a bottom floor non privacy room. Hotel breakfast 8am-10am was really good. Small room but Very clean and the staff work hard to keep it tidy and the food topped up. Hotel bar was really nice, plenty of seats inside and out. Each day they have happy hour 4.30-5.30pm and it's more or less on anything. Bar prices are about average for the area. Happy days. Pool was small but big enough for the amount of rooms in the hotel. Never seen anyone struggle for a sun lounger, always a few free no matter the time of day. Hotel location is unbelievably good. If you've never been to Cala d'Or then there is a main square and surrounding area with what must be about 40 restaurants and bars. Majority of them really high quality ones too that serve amazing food. Better than I thought to be honest. That square area feels really safe and the atmosphere is superb. Just has a lovely holiday feel from around 6pm until around 11pm. Cannot wait to return. If you stay here, highly recommend visiting La Bodega Tapas restaurant, Restaurant Diferent and Soy Asian restaurant. Loads more choice than that but they were superb. Anyway, any questions you would like answering, please don't hesitate to ask. Collapse

Since this is a 2 star hotel, I wasn't really expecting very much, but it was better than many other 2 stars I have stayed in. The food was good and it was clean enough - it could be cleaner, mind. Our room was a bit shabby, as expected, and wasn't always cleaned properly - bits left on floor and blobs of shampoo left on tiles of shower. Some days just the beds were made, bin emptied, basin and toilet given a quick once over and towels changed, other days the maids seemed a bit more thorough. I never once saw anyone clean the pool during my entire stay and there were a few bits floating in it, like the odd leaf or flower blossom. The floor and walls of the pool did feel a tiny bit slimy but it was wasn't too bad really and I only used it a few times when having the odd day around the pool. Some rooms of the hotel had been refurbished and looked very nice while others, like ours, had not. I was concerned about the fuse box which was located behind the curtain of the patio door - the one and only exit from the room. Once we were in the room and placed the door key card into the slot on the wall which allowed electricity to flow, after a couple of hours the fuse box started to make a humming sound and got quite hot. I was worried in case it started a fire, so we didn't use the electric at night while we slept. This meant we couldn't charge things overnight or use the air-con. I did tell the manager about this and it was apparently checked and was told not to use our kettle in the main room but use it the bathroom plug instead. This made no difference at all and the fuse box still hummed and got hot after a couple of hours. We were told there were no other rooms available. I feel sure the manager didn't realise the severity of the problem and something got lost in translation. I suspect when checking the fuse box, the card was placed in its slot for a few minutes before being deemed safe and had they left it in place for a few hours, they would have seen the problem. If all the rooms had been refurbished, had safe electrics, smoke alarms fitted and a little more attention was given to cleaning, I reckon this place could easily be a 3 star hotel and also I would have scored an excellent rating with my review. The breakfast was good - a lot better than expected - and the snacks around the pool were OK but sometimes higher quality ingredients could have been used for the snacks, EG Chicken wraps used re-formed chicken (I would have been happy to pay a bit more for better quality ingredients), however the paella they make once a week was exceptional - very tasty and full of seafood etc. Staff are mostly friendly - I do think they could put themselves in guests' shoes more often though. On the few occasions I spent time by the pool, a door which contained cleaning equipment was open all day and it was blowing in the breeze. It was very squeaky and noisy. I closed it once but a member of staff opened it again within minutes, so then I got a heavy base from a parasol and propped it open with that so it wouldn't keep squeaking. That too was moved. Not really conducive to a relaxing time, having to put up with noises which set your teeth on edge. The manageress is also not too interested if guests have a complaint or a problem. There was no hot water for several days during our stay but there was no explanation, no empathy and no apologies given. We did manage as the water wasn't completely cold but more luke-warm, and I had my kettle too. There are many positives to this hotel : Excellent location - right near bars, restaurants and not too far from beach. Handy supermarket just across the road and never had trouble finding a free parking space nearby the hotel. (in September) Great little hotel for the money and offers much more than one would expect - it even has a gym. Food is great for the money paid. Good value accommodation. Clean enough. (just) Happy hour each afternoon. Special offers on dish of the day around the pool. Loyalty cards whereby you collect stickers with each purchase from the bar and get a free drink. Some lovely staff that are smiley and welcoming. On the whole a nice hotel and if the problems I mentioned were ironed out, a great little hotel. Collapse

This hotel is a lovely hotel, really quaint and had a real spanish feel. I liked the pool, room was basic, but air con was good, it was clean, shower was nice enough, great balcony. And the Sangria was Lovely! Happy hour was a nice touch too. The hotel was central and the supermarket opposite had everything you need. The one thing that hugely spoilt this hotel for us as a family was the unknown festival that took place every evening and on many days lasted untill 5.30am. Yes the hotel placed a poster up saying this was not their fault... HOWEVER once at the hotel you can not get your money back and choose to stay somewhere else. In my opinion the hotel and all sellers of this hotel should advise that there is a festival that happens every year and there is loud noise. I tried searching the festival to see if I should have researched the area more. However I could not find any information. I feel that this is not fair on paying customers and not cheap may I add for a 2 star hotel. Collapse

I booked this place after reading the reviews on Trip advisor...yes,there were a few that were bad,but on the whole it didn't seem too bad & I naively thought, maybe people were just expecting too much. Check in was quick & easy, but when we got to our rooms,we soon realised that the nightclub over the road was going to be a problem.Car's coming & going all night, with screeching tyres & stereo's blasting, stopping to pic up & drop off reveller's...The man above us thought it ok to pick up several "friends" & bring them back to his room and the party continued, until 6am! We asked to move and after a lot of conflict, they begrudgingly moved us to a poolside room, which was one of the more modern rooms. The bathroom is part of the bedroom, with clear glass screens,so you can see everything...our kids really were not impressed! We shared to room with dirty sheets, ants & cockroaches and although it was a lot quieter, the air conditioning sounded like it was going to explode,at times. Cockroaches seemed to be a huge problem & we too got the answer of "It's a problem in Cala D'or" ,but we never saw one once in the streets. We did try & look elsewhere for accommodation, but the cost put us off...plus why should we have to pay again? Would never return. Collapse
