My partner and I visited hotel d'or on the 22nd of June for 7 nights, we were round the back of the hotel and therefore didn't have a pool view but we couldn't have cared less, our room was spacious, extremely clean and the air con was perfect. The cleaners came in every single day which we didn't expect and did a brilliant job! The pool area was very clean with a good sized pool, enough sunbeds and umbrella's and a pool bar and cafe. The pool bar was cheap and had happy hour everyday with 2-4-1 drinks. The staff were extremely friendly and knew how to have a laugh, they looked like they actually wanted to be there, we particularly took a liking to the blonde polish lady who seemed to be there all day everyday and went out of her way to have a laugh with customers and help people. We even witnessed her dealing with some very difficult, hard to please customers and she kept very calm and professional. The only downfall would be to hire more staff as there was always just one staff member on, doing the bar, making food, checking in new guests and just generally run off their feet. The hotel breakfast was just average but i wouldn't expect anything more from a 2 star hotel with breakfast included in the price. There is also a gym, a chill out room and public toilets on site and the hotel has live music on a Thursday evening by the pool. There is also a table tennis table. The location of this hotel is top notch, it basically has the square in the back garden (1 minutes walk) and there a five beaches close by, we only managed to find three and walked for around 10 minutes for each. Just a little tip- leave through the black gate behind the lemon tree (the tree in most pictures) and the square is just there. It was all amazing and we would definitely return. Collapse

Myself and 2 friends have just returned from cala d'or. This was my first visit to majorca and certainly won't be my last.the hotel d'or was small friendly and very clean, nice pool area and happy hour each day at the bar. The location is ideal for the town centre bars and restaurants in the beautiful square and the lovely marina is just a short walk away. We stayed on a half board basis breakfast at the hotel is amazing and evening meal is offered in a local restaurant called Don Leone. Unfortunately you have limited choice of two dishes each evening typically roast chicken or a pasta dish and you have to eat between 6 and 8. On arriving late back from a boat trip one day we asked if we could have a table for 9pm and after much debating they reluctantly agreed. Take my advice and stay bed and breakfast and choose one of the many other lovely restaurants to eat in. Collapse

My husband and I have just returned home from this lovely hotel, was a bit unsure of what to expect after reading the reviews, we were not disappointed. The staff were Lovely and so was the accomodation. Breakfast was great, if you didn't want egg and bacon there was plenty of fruit, cereals, and bread. We thought it was a great little find with everything on your doorstep. Would definitely go again loved it. Met some lovely people too, cracking holiday. Collapse

I stayed here at Hotel D'or for 5 days 11th June 2017! I went on recommendation my mum and family go here every year! For the last 9 years. It's only 2 story high, with a few blocks of rooms situated around the pool in the middle. It's a great budget hotel! Very chilled out place, you feel comfortable there. We stayed in block 3, as the rooms in this block are upgraded (including walk in shower bathroom) we had to pay 50 euros on arrival extra for this. If previously send an email and had response that we had reserved room 308. But when we arrived here at midnight, we were put in block 4, room 411. And just had to wait until the morning to enquire about the room we had reserved. Apparently they allowed a late check out the day we arrived so it was not able to be cleaned on time for us arriving. But anyway our room was an upstairs room so they have more private balconys too. Apparently you have to pay 50 euros extra now they said anyway for any upstairs Rooms rather than ground floor. It's worth it for the upgraded rooms! and if you use your balcony and want privacy! As the downstairs ones around the pool are on view. We got a safe also for our stay which was 25 euros on arrival. But as a budget hotel anyway the normal rooms are fine. The bar is normal if not cheaper prices for drinks and food! They have happy hour 4.30-5.30 with 241 on all drinks! :) They have live music one evening a week. The staff are friendly and helpful, at breakfast there is bacon and eggs and beans, toast and some fruits and yogurts, and mini croissants. Orange juice and tea/coffee. overall a great chilled place to stay, cheap and good location, when you turn left out the hotel and down the first street on your left leads you over the square and your there walking into the centre square of all the bars and restaurants, lots of selection! Our favourites- centre plaza for lunch! Great food and the guys there are very nice. Nice spot to sit and watch people passing by and good atmosphere all around these places as it gets busy, Barlavento is on the next little street of restaurants, lovely food! We walked down to the beach by hotel Cala D'or this is lovely little cove beach, we didn't stay sunbathing as we prefer to stay by the pool, but lovey spot. Busy in the afternoon. The marina is lovely, and we had a few drinks at waves bar Overlooking it, which is on the same side of the marina we walked down the steps to. Cala Dor itself is a lovey place, for couples and for families. Hotel Dor I would say is more suited for older people who want to relax, and couples who want to do the same :) can't fault the hotel and for what you pay! I will definitely return! :) Collapse
