I was impressed with Don Bigote Hotel the only complaints are that you do not have TV's in your room and if you get a room on the end it is smaller. However the staff and guests were friendly, the food had plenty of choice and was of good quality, the location was ideal also. We enjoyed the beaches were beautiful. The glass bottom boat trip was OK a little uneventful, I was glad I only went on a 1/2 day trip. Collapse

We have just returned from a 4 night stay. Check in was prompt and we hired a fridge and the safe key - both had returnable deposits. The delivery of the fridge was quick and they gave you an extra card to leave in the electric slot so we were able to leave air con on even when out. The room was small but it was clean - very basic - 2 single beds, 1 pillow each. A small built in wardrobe with 2 drawers. Plus 2 bedside cabinets and then a dressing table with 4 drawers - we managed for the 4 nights we were there. The bathroom was quite spacious and it looked like it had recently been upgraded as it had a walk in shower, which was quite powerful. The balcony is small but had 2 chairs and a table. We were overlooking the road and the pool of a hotel opposite as well as the hotel where magaluf weekender is filmed. It was a busy road but it didn't trouble us really. We were on B&q basis and there was plenty of choice - cereal, fruit, yoghurts, continental meats and cheeses, as well as cooked breakfasts. Juice, as well a coffee, tea and got chocolate plentiful. The dining room staff were very efficient at clearing tables and re-laying them and the buffet was refilled promptly. We also had lunch from the outside pool bar and the sandwiches contained loads of filling and nice chips! Drinks were reasonably priced. We had no problems getting sun beds and there are tables with parasols as well. The pool and the area around it was very clean. We found all staff friendly. The only issue is the few noisy guests returning in the early hours who have very little consideration for fellow guests. Also we did witness some drunkenness - people on the all inclusive who had taken advantage and we practically legless by lunchtime (though they may have still been drunk from the night before), which is worrying around a pool with no life guard. Personally I would not take children there but that is just me. For what we paid it was a good base and is a good basic hotel, with nice staff the only thing letting it down is beyond the hotels control as you cannot make guests go to their rooms quietly! Loved Palma Nova and Magaluf is walkable. We enjoyed meals out at Taylor's cocktail bar, banana joes, princess Diana gran cafe and all meals were lovely and would recommend. In Magaluf we ate at Ibizza- really nice and on beach front and you would not think the "strip" was so close! Collapse

We visited this hotel end of July/ beginning of August. Check in was pleasant enough. €21 to hire a safe. 2 available lifts. We were allocated room 320 which was a pool view room but almost right away we were gutted by the size. The room is so small two people fall over each other trying to move. Two single but comfy enough beds, one of those long pillows on each bed, not so comfortable. Bedside cabinets either side. Facing beds was a dressing table with 4 small drawers and that's all the furniture we had in that space to lay down all our bits and pieces. Diabolical. Next we realised the telly was high up near the ceiling, so high that you practically broke your neck trying to watch it in bed. We looked for the remote control. Needless to say we didn't find one. You have to hire that too. Above the beds is this really weird shape to the wall but then when you lie down you see it's the light above you. Inside it ... dead flies. Balcony outside is accessible by two doors and a sliding door. No balcony light at night-time. Air conditioning was very noisy but needs to be on. Pool is lovely but the sun beds are horribly uncomfortable. You are lying on the hard plastic, no cushions on them. On the upside at the pool there are plenty of lilos to use in the pool. Breakfast was very basic, the usual stuff. After being out at the beach on one of the days I went for a shower to wash the sand off and the water dried up. I went to phone reception but could not find any written information as to what number to dial so had to send my disgruntled husband to find out why there was no water..... the tank was empty! Never known anything like it. The bathroom was grotty. It's a very basic 1970's hotel with 2017 prices. It needs a major overhaul. There is absolutely nowhere to put your unpacked items. Terrible. One tiny shelf in the bathroom to put a husband and wives toiletries is not good enough. The best service this hotel offers is the chance to shower after you've checked out. Reception give you a key to another room and they give you 20 minutes per person to freshen up. This hotel is so near to the beach so in a prime spot but so outdated. Lastly you get €6 returned... deposit for the safe. Palma Nova itself is a beautiful place. Collapse

Just returned from 2 weeks stay at this hotel with my wife and 2 kids (12 and 9). I am going to be brutely honest with my review.. Rooms are basic, BUT unless you are really 'stuck up and want 5 stars' the rooms are sufficient, they are very clean and enough space for all our clothes etc.. bathroom was reasonable size, Aircon was noisey but adequate for the average temperature outside of 34c. We were half board so experienced the breakfast and evening meals, -Breakfast was the same everyday 'Full English' available if you wanted it, on occasion not the hottest but still hot enough to enjoy. - Evening meals were really good, nice range of foods and puddings, These meals were hot enough at all times. The waiter staff in the resturant were really good, very friendly and loved the kids, they were also extremely polite ( bearing in mind i have just read a review for the same time we were there and 'apparently they were rude' maybe they were returning the favour as some of the guests were rude to them' ) The drinks are the bar were reasonably priced. The snack bar was also reasonably priced and cooked 'to order' the chef appears grumpy but who wouldnt be when cooking in the heat but was fairly funny when he look past his appearance. The pool is very deep ( 3m in places ) again this was very clean, it does get busy at times and could do with a few more sunbeds but we always managed to get some where to sit / leave our towels. The only 2 things which let the hotel down is the lack of entertainment poolside and in the evenings but as a friendly bunch were there, we entertained ourselves and had water volleyball competitions!! Commenting on some previous posts, yes there is stag and hen parties there, but they were no harm, in fact one of stag parties were joining and making games with the kids in the pool. In summary if you dont expect a 5 star hotel you will enjoy yourselves, we did and wouldn't hestitate to go back. Collapse

Stayed at the Hotel Don Bigote for 4 Nights, room and bathroom were plenty big enough for two people but had four beds in room, balcony a little small but adequate. Breakfast was good but evening was limited choice but ok. Pool area was clean and spacious, no problem getting a sunbed even in the afternoon. Hotel was quiet at night in the middle of July not sure whether it would be later in the month or August, certainly ok for families at this time. Bar prices were very good for a hotel. Palma Nova is just a very short away and a wide of choice of bars, only about 10 mins walk into Magaluf with plenty of bars on the way, would recommend Taylor's Cocktail Bar and JJ's Sports Lounge. Overall I would recommend the hotel and certainly would recommend Palma Nova. Collapse

On arrival we were promptly seen to. Had a surprise bill for £10 each for tax reasons. Really feeling u should be told about this before arriving, by your holiday company?..our room was a twin room with a third bed squashed in, no room hardly around it. No fridge or kettle. Bathroom was a good size and we had a good sized balcony. Cleaners were there every day, changed towels and cleaned. Food was ok, not alot of choice but sufficient. The snack bar was good as was the outside bar. Friendly staff there. ok for young people not families. Collapse
