The location, sits on the corner of the street. Depending on which way is hard to get to cuz you cant make a U-turn....so getting a taxi there is a pain. The building on exterior looks newer than the interior. The interior is in a MAJOR MAJOR NEED of a makeover ! Upon my arrival to the hotel, there were two guests that were taking an excessively long time trying to plan excursion in town. I think that someone needs to be working the counter just for this so others can focus on checking guests in/out and any other thing a guess needs to do. The workers were all nice throughout the hotel. The room was spacious for a regular room. Was able to see "some" of city view from my window. The decor in the hotel and in room was way too old-fashioned. I've stayed at plenty of 4 and 5 star resorts and hotels and this didn't feel or seem like a "Five-Star" hotel. Wall paper throughout facility was peeling away. Not enough restrooms in the facility. I was there for work conference and was only 1 bathroom on 1st floor for over 200 attendees. Spa: The young lady I had for my massage was absolutely great! She did a great job! Highly recommend the spa. The Italian restaurant: I didn't dine there. What I did notice that the prices were a bit steep especially after dining locally and seeing prices nearby. So, didn't dine there for that reason. The restaurant on first floor I didn't dine there but had a coffee there. I will say for a coffee with a 1/2 of bailey for $10 is a bit extreme. Our daily breakfast/lunch that was included with our conference was good everyday. At least the food we ate was good. Breakfast was a mix of cereals, yogurts, fruits, pastries. Hot items like bacon, eggs, has browns. I thought Portuguese was known for coffee......well the coffee for the week at the hotel was not good at all. Lunches were definitely my favorite of the two meals. Almost daily they had Bacala (Cod Fish) and various meat or pasta as other alternative choices. Then a salad bar table. Salad item choices were always good. The dessert table was always my favorite. they have a good flan and a almond cake (don't know the name) were just delish! Room toiletries/amenities were "ok" ...nothing great....especially given it's a 5-star hotel. The one thing mentioning about...the mattress on the bed. OMG. Of all my years traveling around the world I've never slept on the WORST bed ever. I don't know if it was just my particular room I had but it was terrible. My hips from laying on my side were bruised. All need to be replaced! Decent closet space in room. Hair dryer is not in a place where you'd expect to find it. And, didn't even find it until 1/2 way into my stay. If I go to Lisbon again I don't think I'd stay here again. Another thing I noticed is I never ever saw the housekeepers or any cleaning staff for an entire week. Odd. The bathrooms that we used near our conference room needed to be maintained a bit more with the excessive people using it. Collapse

We stayed here for a short break last week. Our room was on the twelfth floor, with views over the Tagus river (although not as close in reality as it appears on the publicity materials!). We were fortunate enough to have the excellent pool and spa to ourselves every day, which was lovely. The breakfast is excellent- both quality and quantity. We would certainly stay here again. The customer friendly behaviour is unknown by the staff of this hotel. Having a superior room normally gives special access to various facility if the room card is setup correctly. Was not the case for me. Nobody found appropriate to apologize.

Hotel is situated 15 minutes walk from metro that interchanges with the line to the airport and to the centre. Going to the metro is Ok, but coming back up a steep hill would be problematic for a person who has problems walking. We live in a hilly area, so we dont mind...but bit much fun in the monsoon we had on the last day. It is on a very busy intersection and is quiet noisy if you are a light sleeper and your room is on the front. Compensated by a modern shopping complex nearby. However, friendly staff, good quality rooms, plentiful excellent breakfast ( get there before 'Europe in 7 days' tour groups that seem to frequent the hotel). Major gripe- echoed by many people... additional charge to go in the pool. Compensated by the fact it is a good length and there is a jacuzzi! Collapse
