Hollywood has now become our go-to hotel when we visit Hong Kong. Its main draws for us are the room size (can accommodate 2A2C easily), availability of halal food and of course, it’s a Disney resort. We got a nice price for it using the magic access discount. The room is showing signs of age though, the best upgrade it could have right now is installing USB ports for charging devices. a few days before my trip, I emailed reservations to ask for a wedding anniversary surprise for my spouse. it was lovely to come back to the room after dinner and find a cute towel cake, pins and a card waiting. it’s not the best location if you are planning to do a lot of sightseeing in the city. It took us 45 mins and 5 transfers to Ocean Park (shuttle bus > Disney station > Sunny Bay > Hong Kong > Admiralty > Ocean Park). the staff were all very kind and helpful. housekeeping did a good job with the room and compared to two years ago, they are “less generous” with the toiletries but that’s fine, because it’s less wastage. i also like that they give 2 large bottles of drinking water instead of small ones to reduce waste. take the time to walk the hotel grounds..there is a lovely garden and a children’s playground at the back. just behind is the view of the South China Sea, and as resort guests, you can also visit the other hotels. i would also recommend walking to Disneyland park, it’s about a 20-25 minute stroll by the sea and it was nice and peaceful. they have activities in the hotel lobby for kids, like arts and crafts and games. there is also a little arcade that is free to play (except the candy machine). hotel guests now also have a designated entrance for bag checks and into the park, just show your card to the staff. the gift store in the lobby is well stocked with merchandise, for those last minute impulse buys! Minus points - distance to city - price (with a good discount, it is comparable to a good hotel in the city) - TV reception was quite poor, picture was fuzzy Collapse

This place is over the top, but has created an interest and love of Mickey Mouse by my cherubs. The entrance to this hotel is grand, and the fragrance as you walk through the door makes one want to skip. (I did yesterday... lol) The old Hollywood music playing, the sparkle and shine and employees dressed in the 30's makes for an unforgettable experience. When in an elevator, Mickey tells us what floor we're on. Food is Mickey shaped. He is on our soap, shampoo, bathroom cups, and a channel on TV is dedicated to the oldies, the Walt Disney cartoons that I watched in thr 70's. My cherubs were giggling alot. Their eyes have been opened to the magic that was created by Disney. The gift shop is priced similarly to the prices at Disneyland. We enjoyed taking the shuttle bus each day to the theme park. The wait for each shuttle is only 15 minutes. Unfortunately the pool was closed. I am not sure how I missed that message on Booking.com, but overall we really enjoyed our stay. Collapse

We chose this location for it's proximity to Disneyland Park. This was great, it was a short, free, 5+ minute bus ride to the park. Prices at Disney Properties are always a little higher, but compared to prices in Kowloon or HK this was really maybe even cheaper. We were only there one night. We had 4 adults and a baby in the room. The hotel provided a crib for free and it fit pretty easily. We were able to purchase tickets for Disneyland at the front desk of course. Aside from the proximity, my favorite part about staying here was the Dinner Buffet. It was seriously delicious and had incredible selection with foods from all over the world. Everyone loved the buffet. Kind of expensive, but worth it in my opinion. The weather was not so great the day we were here, so we didn't use the pool or walk around the grounds, but the pool looks great, the grounds look beautiful, we just didn't experience it. Yes, I would stay here again. Collapse

I wasn’t that convinced in booking at a Disney Hotel until I saw how high can Hong Kong Hotel Rates can go. Its not funny. Specially that we were traveling as a family with my little brother so when we saw a really good deal in Agoda, we took the opportunity to book a 3D2N stay. As the organizer of the family tour, I felt very much as ease traveling from Tsim Sha Shui to Disneyland. The convenience started with a smooth train journey regardless of your point of departure and good amount of luggage. The Resort is located a bit near the airport and has its own Train Line in baby pink called “Sunny Bay”. From Sunny Bay you will get off immediately at the Disney Resort Station. Upon arriving, the staff are nice and speaks english well. You can also ask for complimentary express passes. Their standard max staying adults are 4 persons but we were 4 adults and 1 child. The room was large enough for all of us. I also I find it crazy unpractical booking 2 rooms for just the 4 adults and 1 child. Unless we’re that rich of course. Our view outside was the hotel lobby had a luscious mountain side. The hotel’s attention to details were impressive. It was a very quiet hotel despite of the families staying with lots of kids. Not sure if it just wasn’t peak season though or everyone was outside enjoying the attraction. We would stay here again. Collapse

The hotel is ideally situated if you are visiting Hong Kong Disneyland. It even has a free bus to drop you off at the theme park. Overall the hotel is good, clean and comfortable, but the decor needs a major facelift. There was an awful conglomeration of at least 12 different (and often non-complimentary) colours/patterns in our room. It was somewhat dated and looked as if it hadn't been changed since the hotel was built. Some of the staff couldn't understand English, which made it difficult when you had a problem. The food was over-priced and not that good, esp. from the "fast" food restaurant. And given that the hotel is in the middle of nowhere with no other options for eating (or shopping of any kind), they have you over a barrel. If I were going to the theme part again I think I would stay in a hotel in the city and travel to the park. Collapse
