Where do i even start! Lets start with the restaurant. the menu you see on the website does not exist and your choice are written badly on a white board. I had steak medium to well done to which it came to me on a plate swimming in blood. My husband had a burger as did my sisters partner, the patty was thinner than McDonald's and my husband had two bottom buns and my sisters partner had two top parts of the buns, I might add that within half hour we seen the chef come to the bar for three pints of lager so that might explain why he could not even put a burger together properly. We each ordered separate and ordered an extra portion of onion rings each. we were sent out two and when enquired about the other, the chefs response was that one portion he sent out was a sharing portion... it had five onion rings in the bowl as did the other one so which one and the fact that we all ordered separate we all expected them separate. The Pepsi was lukewarm even with ice in it as was the water. Our dessert which was fudge cake ( there is only a choice of two desserts) tasted like it had been left in a cupboard for 6 months and the ice cream was about the size of a teaspoon and all grainy. The room was outdated and grubby. the white polystyrene ceiling was covered in brown stains. just what you want to look up and see when your lying in the bed. There was a wedding going on opposite with pounding music so you could not get to sleep from the noise. Even the television could not drown it out. Eventually we managed to fall asleep around two in the morning when it quietened down. At exactly 5:10 AM we were awoken from the noise of water gushing through our ceiling. I immediately called down to reception to report it, the gentleman's response to me was "is it really a big problem tonight, if you are staying another night we will swap you rooms tomorrow". i replied that we were checking out in the morning to which his response was " never mind then". The leak we presume was from the room above having a shower and eventually it stopped, not before everything got soaked. We then tried to settle back down as we had a very long journey home on the Sunday and were so tired but was met with the sound of snoring from the room next door and the sound of the people walking around in the room above. Needless to say we did not get any rest. i must add that the bed was as hard as rock and not comfortable in the least. Next we have breakfast, continental consisted of cornflakes, rice krispies and crunchy nut as well as toast which was granary, no white or brown. Cooked breakfast was just about edible, bacon, sausage, hash brown, scrambled eggs ( still in the water) and beans. Very basic and not worth £9.95 PP. There is a Mcdonalds minutes up the road which you probably will get more choice and quality for your money. When we checked out, the man on the reception desk asked how was our stay in our room. when we replied not good we were asked why. We then relayed the events from the evening to which his response was that it was probably clean water that was leaking through the ceiling.... I don't expect to Pay £110 for a hotel room for one night to have water gushing through the ceiling whether its clean or dirty!!!! No apology or nothing. Collapse

I had originally booked two nights here but I had booked a third night separately a week before I was due to arrive. I explained this to the staff and they were very helpful and let me stay in the same room throughout without checking out and back in later. I got up to the room and was surprised at how large it was. I had booked a twin room and found a double bed as well as a single bed. The only small issue really is the fact that the heating was on full and the radiators have all the knobs taken off them so I couldn't turn it down. I explained this to the receptionist the following morning and they had turned it down and got the room back to a reasonable temperature by the time I got back from work. Small niggley little things are the walls appeared to be quite thin, and the doors rattled with the wind when the windows were open, but I'm really being quite picky there. And it's probably due to the age of the building. On the whole I would say this is a lovely hotel with very helpful staff and excellent value for money. Collapse

You get the feeling of the countryside when really you are minutes from the busy area of shops etc large car park. Didnt try the food but the menu looked good. Collapse

I booked this hotel through bookings.com seeing that it was a three star hotel, reasonably priced. On arrival at the front seat I notice a sign saying how it's cheaper to book directly with them, so I look and realise I overpaid, lesson learnt do more research. However as we get closer to the room it starts feeling like we are walking into hell as the temperature becomes more and more unbearable. Open the door to the bedroom and a heatwave hits us in the face like the sun itself had been staying the night before. Naturally I got to turn the heating down, three radiators, one works fine turned off, the two others no thermostats so full heat. GREAT!! Open the windows then. The room decor was very exhausted, the walls need a fresh coat with dirt marks in the usual places, scuff marks where the bed has moved a lot, no plugs next to the beds. Then I notice a hole in the wall (took a picture to show front desk). I go down and the staff are very helpful, a lad comes sorts the radiators out, but doesn't put any thermostats on, now I'm no plumber but I knew straight away that's what was needed. After mentioning it a few times how it is still hot I give up and just make the most of my week with my other half. I wouldn't recommend at the price I paid and a push at their own price, the rooms need a serious make over. Collapse
