Located on the doorstep of Prague Castle, the Design Hotel Neruda is as unique and beautiful on the inside as the historic Nerudova street it is on. Our 'small double' was beautifully designed and we were woken each morning to the charming melodies of a local busker. Additionally the staff were very friendly, surprising my partner on his birthday with a candled cake and birthday song. Collapse

We really enjoyed the Design Hotel Neruda. The staff was super helpful, provided dinner recommendations when asked, and the breakfast provided was fantastic. The hotel arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport for 690 CZK, which worked out really well. We also enjoyed our room, though the design of the tub was a little goofy we felt. The curtain didn't fully surround the tub. Overall though, we would definitely go back. Collapse

Great location, peaceful but just a few minutes walk from the castle, and about 10 minutes to the (always crowded) Charles Bridge. Lovely chocolate cafe next door, proper hot chocolate, made with melted chocolate, and so lovely to sit outside and watch the world go by away from the busyness of the centre. We walked everywhere and decided we couldn't have had a better location. The street is on a gentle slope, the hotel was lovely, an old building with modern rooms. We were lucky enough to be upgraded from a Superior to a Deluxe room overlooking the quiet street, quirky design with huge double bed, spotlessly clean (very important!) and we were very comfortable. The Managers were very helpful and proud of their lovely hotel. Great breakfasts, ample choices of food, both indulgent and healthy. We would definitely stay again. Collapse

We spent five nights at the Design Hotel Neruda. Less than half an hour from the airport, it is perfectly placed for visiting the city. Across the river from the city centre and nestled under the walls of the magnificent castle complex, the hotel is just a few minutes walk from the castle and the mini-Eifel Tower and funicular railway in the Petrin woods. It's a ten-minute stroll down the cobbled hill to a tram station which gives you connectivity to all parts of the city. A little further on and you come to the iconic Charles V Bridge which takes you into the Old Town. There are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants on Neruda Street if you want to eat locally, but none of the night noise of the city centre. The hotel itself a collection of old buildings which have been modernised internally without spoiling the outside. The rooms are stylish, some might say quirky, but comfortable. The most praiseworthy aspect of the hotel is the staff; led by two enthusiastic and helpful young managers, they are cheerful, friendly, multi-lingual and keen to make your stay a memorable one. We would certainly stay there again. Collapse

On arrival at this hotel at midnight we couldn't actually see it, even the taxi driver didn't know where it was, it was only when we got out of the taxi and were right up close we could make out we were in the right place so just a bit of advice light it up slightly so people can see where you actually are. Once inside the guy on reception was polite and efficient and we were taken to our room which was on the second floor but again the halls have little or no lighting so getting your key in the door was a struggle, (let there be light!!) Room was spacious and clean but the shower was a bit lack lustre and had to wait about 5 mins for it to warm up. Breakfast was adequate you could get pastries, cereals, sausage and beans, yoghurts and plenty of juices and coffee and they make you a pancake if you ask (yum!). The location was good we were a 5-10 min walk to the palace but just a big tip take comfy trainers and preferably be able bodied as there are alot of slopes and cobbles. Overall all ok would recommend they make some little adjustments to make it even better. One last thing there was a young girl on reception I would advise her to smile a bit more, not nice for the guests to see a miserable face. One last thing I highly recommend 3 restaurants Kolkovan Olympia, Cafe Savoy and Santini Garden all fabulous service and excellent food. :) Collapse
