Lost a point for the unpleasant odor that permeates the lobby, perhaps because of the chlorine pool's proximity. They need to do something about that b/c it translates into cooked cabbage. Aside from that... ...the staff are wonderful, helpful, cheerful, polite and a pleasure. The rooms are spacious, not boxy (irregularly and interestingly shaped) and well appointed. The food in both the full-service restaurant as well as the breakfast room is very, very good. I enjoyed all of my meals there and look forward to a return trip in the fall to try more. Breakfast buffet is a good value and the Caesar salad coupled with poutine with shredded duck confit is definitely a good choice for late arrivals. You will not be disappointed by your stay--especially if you need to be downtown since the central location affords a 10 min walk to everything you might need in any direction. Oh, and, if you're driving, the daily parking rate is quite reasonable for a major city. In short, a gem. Collapse

Room was tastefully decorated with a bed that was to die for! Our room had a balcony and although it wasn't where I'd want to spend much time, it was so nice to have the sliding glass doors and screen to let in fresh air and sounds of the Jazz Festival. We loved the bathroom with the motion detector light. It was great for having to get up in the night without having to turn on a glaring light. The large shower with both rainhead and held held showers was delightful. But the best thing about this hotel was the staff. From housekeeping to management, everyone was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Kudos go out to the gals at the concierge lounge for their hard work and great spirit. You are to be commended. We'll definitely stay at Delta should we find ourselves in Montreal again. Collapse

I travel a lot for business and of course have to travel for pleasure. This trip was a pleasure trip and the Delta did not disappoint. For me, the biggest thing that tells me a lot about the hotel is the staff. I spoke with the front desk, house keeping, and the concierge staff and always had a good experience. I was on a high floor with a room with a balcony. Because of other buildings, the views were not the greatest, but still worthy of a view (attached). I had a large king bed that was comfy as I have expected from Delta Hotels. The Concierge is two levels and has multiple balconies for you to use to enjoy the view and weather. If I could, I would have stayed on the balcony relaxing. I had plans throughout my trip so I didn't have a chance to indulge. The morning and evening attendant were very helpful. Excellent! They were very helpful and provided some options on how to get to a few places. It's always a good sign when you can laugh in a conversation. Kudos! Each day, I had breakfast downstairs and the wait staff was very good. I didn't feel like they were always on top of me. I always ordered 3 eggs over medium and each day they came out perfectly cooked. Great Chef! I was able to get in and out at my own convenience and never had to wait. Excellent service. The hotel is in a good location and is fairly easy to get to. Travelers TIP: Get either the $10 (day pass) or $24 (3 day pass) and use the 747 bus to get downtown. I went for the 3 day pass ($18 + $6 opus card) because I was going to move around the city. It's the most economical way to get to the hotel. Take the 747 bus to Lionel-Groulx stop (first stop) and take the green line metro to McGill stop. From there, it's a quick 1 or 2 blocks to the hotel. Depends on which exit you use to surface. I would recommend this hotel for pleasure travel and for business. If you are eligible for access to the concierge, I highly recommend spending time up there. The staff and views are excellent! I'll actually be returning for the 2017 Roger's Cup and will be staying here. Collapse

Neighborhood is very nice. We had a disturbance on the floor one night and when I called security they showed up and the party quieted down. Bus parking is on the street right next to the hotel. Stayed here for grand prix weekend - roughly $700/night for 2 nights. Woke up the morning after my first night to find my fiance and I had been sleeping in soiled sheets with what appeared to be a sticky brown substance (see photo). I called the front desk who transfered me to housekeeping to have a maid sent up. Never received a call back from the front desk, no apology, and no sense of urgency to resolve this issue, no discount offered. At checkout, I had to remind the staff of this issue where they then offered free parking.... a $20 value to sleep in filth while we were paying $700/night... what a discount. Very disappointed in this Delta, would not recommend. Collapse
