This was my first time staying at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Edmonton Centre Suites. We picked it for it's proximity to the new Roger's Centre in downtown Edmonton, as well as the price and the reputation of the Delta brand. Location and service can't be beat. Check-in was a breeze and the front-desk staff were very courteous and helpful. Location as well, cannot be beat. It's right in a mall with many amenities and within a very short walking distance to Roger's Centre and some great restaurants in Edmonton. The mall has a pub and movie theatre as well. Parking was a little pricey but expected with any hotels in downtown. Our hotel room surprised me. Most of the rooms look INTO the mall, so you don't actually get a view of the outside at all unless you pay for a city view room. If anything it's a novelty, but we were right above the hotel restaurant, so i was a bit leery about leaving the curtains open. Walking to a friend's room, it looked like some rooms actually have a view into the hall which is also odd. The furnishings, while serviceable, are outdated and much is starting to show wear. I was surprised to see a non-flat screen TV in the room! Regardless, it worked, the wifi worked, everything was clean, and the hotel was fairly quiet. We could tell the hotel was full because of the event at Roger's Centre but we could barely hear our neighbours. However, the hotel is undergoing renovations and in the morning we did hear some hammering. It could have been because we were on the first level of the hotel above the lobby. The exercise room was small but serviceable. However, it was also very humid as it's adjacent to the sauna/steam room and hot tub. The ventilation needs some updating. Also curious was watching 2 massage therapists go into the exercise room and take all the towels meant for hotel guests so that they could presumably be used for spa guests. Overall it was a great experience, punctuated by the great service we received. If the service wasn't so great I probably would have thought twice about returning here, despite it's great location. Once the rooms are renovated it will be one of my choice places to stay in Edmonton. Collapse

Used to stay here quite often for business and personal. Hotel looks worst and worst every stay and no efforts in improving minimal upkeep. Probably because it was recently took over by Marriott. Restaurant is so-so. Some servers are ok, some are very reluctant and no idea what proper service is. TV is a old tube type which I haven't seen in other hotels or even motels.Tub is totally worn and peeling. Only good thing was the bed was really comfy. Had the Park and Stay package this trip only to be billed again for parking. Addressed the issue during check out and reprinted my invoice. However, my CC was charged again for the parking! Several email exchanges with the "Supervisors" do not seems to resolve this irritating issue. Where is Marriott oversight? Collapse

Delta Edmonton Centre Suite have front desk staff that are friendly, helpful accommodating and always smiling. Even if you are stuck in an elevator I witnessed they are there talking with you all the time. Our group was in the hotel from Oct 11 to 15, although we had used a conference room 1 day only to find the hotel booked our use into the boardroom a day earlier that was rectified and corrected quickly the day of actual meeting. I like the idea that they participate in a environment friendly exchange for room service and towel service that is a plus. The Delta is kept very clean with such friendly housekeeping staff. The hotel is in process of renovating with a notice of hours of contractors work times in each room, which is being mindful of the hotel patrons. This hotel is in a great location across street from Rogers Place, a block from the Boardwalk which has a few restaurants and further around the area a few more. The only downfall is to use a pool there are a few choices off site and they charge access fees. Hotel does have a sauna and steam room and work out room. Free wifi and newspapers. Like that you need the room key at night to operate elevator to your room. Thanks Delta for the service. Collapse

This hotel is very hard to find and get to with all the construction going on, We continued to get lost finding it for the 3 nights we stayed. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They looked after us superbly. The problem was our room, we had no heat. The thermostat was not working and we had to have a portable heater in our room. Everything else in the room was good but getting a bit old. The staff at the front desk parked our vehicle for us in the parkade at no extra cost because it was difficult for us. The restaurant was great, easy to get to and served a delicious breakfast. The hotel is connected to the city center mall and that proved very convenient. We shopped at several stores during our stay. We also went to the pub in the mall which was great. When we checked out we received a credit to our account and found out that the hotel is going through a renovation therefore the issues we encountered. I would like to thank Jaycee, Calan, Veronica, Tejas, and Jugjwan for all their assistance. Collapse

History: Built and opened in 1987; renovated in 2002 Location: Central part of downtown Edmonton Interior Decor: Very good sets of furnitures, but a bit tired/worn looking Exterior Apperance: 7 story building in city centre; annexed to a shopping mall Outside view from the room I stayed at (719): Atrium of the annexed shopping mall. Internet: Reliable, stable and fast connection. Room Size: Approximately 80 square meters. Plenty of space to stretch and relax. Room Cleanness: Furnitures in the living room look a bit outdated, but everything else looked clean Bathroom: Shower only bathroom, twice the usual size, Huge pentagon shaped whirlpool by the bed side. Noise Insulation: Excellent Price and Value: Reasonable for the room size, location in the city and good sets of amenities Bed: King size. Firm mattress. Slept good. Parking: $19 parking garage. Services: Light bulb in the bedroom was broken upon the first entry, but quickly replaced by the housekeeping maintenance staff Others: Odd layout and disturbing sets of maintenance activities from the parking garage to the hotel lobby, poor first impression - needs renovation there Collapse
