Overall not too bad an experience here. Little out of the main part of Venice however public transport was right out the front door and a 10min buss ride to the city centre. Buses were very regular. Supermarket just downstairs. Not a huge amount of restaurants to choose from and the atmosphere wasn't like in the main part. Rooms were small but comfortable. Breakfast was ok also. Only bacon and eggs to choose from for hot foods along with pastries, fruit and cereal. Overall a pleasant experience. Collapse

We stayed here for 5 nights last week and I've never received such bad customer service. Not a single member of staff smiled at us the whole duration of our stay. Reception team just looked miserable, I bought a yogurt from the supermarket next door and asked the receptionist for a spoon as there isn't any tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms so i couldn't use a tea spoon from the room. They said 'no the restaurant is closed'. Why that meant they couldn't just go and grab me a spoon i have no idea. I am a receptionist at 4 star hotel, this hotel is meant to be 4 star, pfft, no. We arrived at breakfast at 10 to 10 one morning (breakfast finishes at 10) and the dirty looks we got from the staff were unbelievable. We were obviously the last room to come down but still no need for dirty looks. Hot food the only options are scrambled eggs & bacon. No toast. Fruit juices tasted like they had mounds of sugar in. Oh and if you come down a little before 10 if you blink the buffet is already cleared away. At a 4 star hotel you don't clear the buffet away until the last guest has left the breakfast room, standard. Or you at least ask them if they want anything else and politely say they will be clearing away the buffet shortly. You also have to get your own cutlery the only thing on the table is a paper napkin. 4 star hotel?!? really. The glasses for juice were always boiling hot because they had obviously just come out of a glass washer and most had chips or cracks in them so be careful. I'm shocked how they can be a 4 star hotel with no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms? I know 2 star hotels that have this. It's a good location as the bus stop is literally in front of the hotel and the train station is a short walk but other than that it's awful. We arrived at the hotel very early and asked if our room was ready. They said no check in is from 2 which i totally understand however they then started to say if we paid extra our room would be ready now? So let me get this straight, if we pay extra money now our room will be ready? Which in theory all they were going to do was move us to a different room that was already clean? Why couldn't they of just moved our booking and allocated us that room that was unoccupied when we arrived early? instead of trying to con us out of more money by saying if we paid extra now we can have a room that's clean already?! That's just not on. For someone with a lot of experience of working in 4 star hotels never in my life have I heard this. If the rooms not ready you move the booking to a room that's already clean or you apologize that the room isn't ready yet and tell them to come back nearer check in time. Paying more money to have a room that's ready now? Jesus Christ. Collapse

Arrived at the Hotel at around 11am on Thursday morning - flew into Treviso - which the transfer time is around 30 mins and costs €60 from taxi outside the Airport - can get a bus but there was 4 of us so would have been around the same amount €15 each for the bus (which is also outsidethe terminal) When we arrived the girl on reception was very friendly and chirpy - But was to be informed that our travel Agent had only booked us in for 2 nights (Blue Sea Holidays) instead of 3 starting from the Saturday Night - Ummm not sure this was true, think it was more they had a big party by coach and bumping us to another hotel was better than losing a couple of coaches. They quickly sorted out another hotel around the corner, Hotel Lugano Torretta They organised a taxi to pick up and take us, we could check in straight away and was given a superior room, which was very nice! with a rain shower and very trendy bathroom, but glass wall between the shower and bedroom, so if not a couple that minds seeing each other on the loo then maybe not! There was a bus stop about 500 yards down the road on same side that took you directly into Venice Roma Bus station took around 10 mins - purchased a bus/ferry ticket so we could hop and and off buses/water ferrys in Venice - €40 for 72hrs - around the corner from this hotel ther was a small bar which sold very good wine €3 and beer €3/4 but not very lively, they also did food. from here we got a taxi into the town of Mestre in the evening around €15 - found a very expensive restaurant which was a huge disappointment and cost @195 for 4 (very expensive) food was mediocore and bland - main dish was meat and potatoes!!! The following day we were picked up again and transfered back to Delfino Hotel - around 10am - we was checked in straight away and was upgraded to a suite for the inconvienance. Hate to see what a standard room was like if this was a suite! furniture is dated and old, shower tiles on floor were missing and the bathroom is very small and has very little space for make up/etc. Breakfast is very basic - bread/cheese/ham/cold meats/a few crossiants/jam and so forth - sort of bacon (very greasy) the man in the restaurant is very strange - had to sit on one side and wouldnt let you in if you didnt show your room card. I did manage to get in by saying my partner was coming down shortly as their is only 1 card per room! The Restaurant is not open in the evening, nor is the bar, which really would be a good idea especially as the hotel was full! - had to either use hotel next door or Wine bar round the corner which was very nice (out of hotel turn left, past sister hotel turn left and you will stumble upon it) - drinks reasonable price - right opposite Mcdonalds/and a massive Spa. Music is Trad Jazz which is OK but can be a bit annoying after a bit. There are a few cafes/bars in this area. If you come out of the hotel turn right and walk all the way to the end of the stretch, walk across the road there is also a lively bar you can visit that have good priced wine €3 a glass & beer around €4/5 - have loud music and seating, also serve tapas. There is a bus stop that takes you into Venice on opposite side of the road directly opposite the hotel - 2 stops to Piazzale Roma Stop (Bus station) from here you get off and walk over the glass bridge into Venice. I reccommend getting a pass for amount of days there as easy to use (just make sure you validate, every time you travel) and can use on buses, trams and ferries in Venice. Usual cost of bus €3 return - ferry €7 return - we used it to jump on and off the ferry to different stops the bus in day and evening. Overall a basic Budget Hotel - we paid £185 for a double room with B&B so good value - easy access to Venice and Near cafes/bars/Mcdonalds/Spa. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly and very informative. And explain the buses and pass very well. Collapse
