We arrived way before check in time after a very early morning flight. From the airport, we took the ATVO bus, which stops by Venice Mestre railway station. This is about a 10-15 minute walk away from the hotel. The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful, offering to store our cases securely or for us to pay a reasonably priced supplement to have a room immediately. We decided to take the room so that we could freshen up and get out and about to enjoy Venice for the day. The room, on the third floor, was spacious and spotlessly clean with excellent facilities. The bed was large and the shower room had lovely fluffy white towels and a selection of toiletries. After having stayed in Venice hotels previously where you had to shuffle to get round the bed, we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a good situation on a wide, well lit road. There is a supermarket right next door where bought some freshly made up rolls to take out with us, which were fine. The stop for the bus, which terminates at the bus station in Venice by Piazzale Roma, is across the road from the hotel and on the return journey stops right outside. Tickets to last 24 hours cost 8 euros and can be bought at hotel reception or at their sister hotel, the Ambassador, next door. You can also buy the combined bus and water taxi tickets, costing 20 euros each for 24 hours, here too. The staff on reception kindly gave us a map which was helpful. If you are going to the cruise terminal, Piazzale Roma is not far from the People Mover, which you need to use to get across the water from where you could walk to the terminal but, be warned, the buses can get very very crowded, meaning it could be hard to find room for your luggage. A taxi to the port costs around 25 euros or 20 euros if shared and reception will order this for you. After a great day exploring Venice (and managing to get lost in the back streets - thank goodness for Google maps or we might still be there!) we returned to the hotel. It was great to get into a lovely hot shower before venturing out for food. There is a restaurant at the Delfino offering pizzas but only until about 8.30pm or you can have a meal, booked in advance, at the Ambassador next door. We chose to have pizzas at a small cafe on the nearby corner, just across the road from the supermarket where the prices for both food and wine were very reasonable. After a good nights sleep in a very comfortable bed, we ventured down for breakfast. Now this is where the hotel lets itself down. Not in the buffet breakfast, which was fine, but in the attitude of the guy whom we assume was the manager. I must admit we did think breakfast was until 10.30am and didn't arrive until about 9.45am but he was unnecessarily brusque with us, pointing out that we had better hurry as breakfast finished at 10am. Sure enough, on the dot at 10am, he went round the occupied tables saying "breakfast is finished". The food still out was hastily cleared away as were a couple of latecomers! I was not happy when he came to clear our table and was in such a hurry that he managed to leave behind, on the cloth, some scrambled egg I hadn't eaten. This guy seriously needs to learn some customer service skills. Needless to say, the next morning we were at breakfast much earlier! All in all, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and, if you're a late riser and can't face the wrath of breakfast manager, then there's always the cafe on the corner or McDonalds just down the road!! No complaints. We stayed for just one night before joining a cruise. It's a very busy hotel with people coming and going all the time for short stays. Check in and check out times were both incredibly busy and there were long queues but the staff were calm and coped well. Our room was tiny with a large bed that virtually filled the room. Comfortable enough and quiet overnight so suited our purpose. Collapse

We were booked in here as part of a cruise deal for two nights prior to boarding. After reading other reviews I was very apprehensive about the hotel. I can't fault it. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful on check in and check out. Room was clean, everything worked and very quiet. We did not use the restaurant or wifi . Had breakfast at the nearby McCafe and ate at night at a local restaurant called Wims? I would stay here again. Collapse
Value for money, 10 minutes from Venice

Lovely clean, friendly hotel with a bus stop right outside which takes you to Venice in 10 minutes. The bus is always busy so be prepared to stand. Lovely breakfast, cereals, breads, ham, cheese, bacon, eggs, pastries etc.

We had a one day stopover in this hotel prior to a cruise. We arrived at 12 noon and was told our room would not be ready until 2 pm so we could leave our suitcases in the non secure area in the reception area. We were not happy with this as we wanted to make the best use of the day and visit Venice so we had to pay 8 euros to have the cases secured until we returned. The reception staff throughout this were surly and disinterested. When we asked how we got into town they just pointed in a vague way and simply said bus no further information was given. We later found out they could have sold us tickets at the desk for the bus which would have saved us money. The room we were given was large and clean and the bed was comfortable. However, the reception staff were some of the rudest I have ever met and whilst we were there other guests were complaining about other issues with their rooms which were met with the same negative attitude. The hotel was further out from Venice then I would have chosen but it was booked for us by the cruise company. I would not choose to go back to this hotel nor would I recommend it. Collapse
