An amazing looking building with great design features. Hotel very nice: Bramleys restaurant had a limited menu and the service was not up to much. If you are holding a conference in the Nottingham area this is the ideal place.

We stayed here on a Sunday night while we were visiting our son who's at Nottingham uni and we couldn't have been more pleased. For a start the design of the hotel is very modern and quite different to your run-of-the-mill hotel and that made it feel special. We booked a standard room which was well equipped and had plenty of room and the bathroom was fine. The only problem we found was that the shower pressure was a little low and not as hot as we would have liked. We had booked breakfast and this was very good, with plenty of very good quality hot and cold food available. Service was friendly and efficient. Collapse

Staff are helpful and knowlegeable with local info, The Bramley restaurant ,named after the local Bramley Apple , serves up good quality food . Rooms are pleasant and comfortable , but can be rather hot at night, suggest the A/C is turned down for a comfortable night. Collapse

I had decided I wanted to have a hotel break, as I hadn't any plans for the weekend. After an evening of a lot more searching than usual, (I suspect due to it being Valentines weekend/half term), I found this hotel. I was looking for a dinner, b&b deal, not too far from the town centre & I found it here. I booked it on 17/02/17 for my 1 night stay on the 18/02/17 to 19/02/17. We arrived & were pleased to see an abundance of car parking space, both in front & behind the hotel. Upon entry into the hotel we noticed seating in front of the reception, 3 reception desks & a bar to the right of this. A lovely young receptionist caught eye contact & smiled warmly, her desk was free so I approached & proceeded to check in. She told me due to me having a debit card I'd have to pay then rather than later, which wasn't a problem. (I don't like checking a bill at the end.) She told us our room number/floor (324/3rd floor) & we headed up. The room was very clean & well presented. It had a nature feature wall, which echoed the view from the window on the opposite side. The bathroom had a walk-in shower with a very modern shower head. It also included toiletries (bodywash, shampoo/conditioner & hand wash) from the Anatomical range. The bedroom has power points located under the bedside tables, space saving which I liked. Also a quirky floor lamp cum coat rack next to the desk. I'd booked a table for 2 for dinner before arrival, but it wasn't on the system. This wasn't a problem though as we were early down & were given a booth by the window. Our waiter (Jevon, unsure of correct spelling) was very friendly & engaging. The wine list is on an iPad pad which I thought was a novel idea. My main course of beef, oxtail & ale stew was superb. We wanted to go out that evening & asked at reception for recommendations. Damla (again unsure of correct spelling) told us Pitcher & Piano due to the venue, it's in a church. And also Revolucion de Cuba. We checked out both, but I couldn't bear to drink in the first, so headed to the latter. Good choice! It was busy but not overly packed. There's a large cocktail selection, if you like them, & they play a selection of music. Latin/Caribbean/Soul/Chart music. We danced all night, the only ones though I think. Nothing new there. We headed back to the hotel in a taxi from the rank at the bottom of the street. On the way there we had card from hotel, so a special rate. £7-£8 depending on the part of town you want. On the way back it was a tenner. Quoted on entering so couldn't go any higher. Back to room, bed was very comfy. Air con definitely needed to be on as it's quite warm. At breakfast we had same booth as night before at dinner. The window overlooks back car park, so it's covered with a curtain. On the table are 2 jugs with coffee & hot water. Teabags & sugar. The breakfast is a buffet, cooked & continental. It had the general items you'd expect to see. I didn't enjoy the sausages as they had large bits of fat in, which was strange as they were thin. Bacon was lovely, back bacon which I prefer. There's also a range of juices & cereals. Check out was very easy, just say room number & hand over key cards. Oh nearly forgot, the grounds. If you take a walk around the back of the hotel, you'll find the old orchard, mini floor maze & lovely water feature with some benches. We saw a heron pluck a frog from the pond. David Attenborough live! There are also quirky apples located around the outside of hotel, & I saw 1 behind the desk. And etched leaves on the revolving door. There are tables & chairs outside of the restaurant, & at the rear of the hotel on the first floor. Overall it is a lovely, modern hotel with friendly staff. I would not only recommend to others but also return. Collapse

The room was fine and the general ambiance as you would expect for the this style of hotel. However, the portion I was offered was not of nearly sufficient quantity of the price £16 for a small portion of rice and some chicken. The rice was also "crisppy". I asked for a little more rice and was told that there would be an additional charge of £3. As the food was, frankly, sub-standard, I declined and returned it. I appreciate that the young manager in charge was doing his best and was no doubt contstarined in what he could do but nonetheless I was disappointed. I would recommend staying here as the rooms are fine but perhaps best to eat out. Collapse
