I went for just an over night stay. The staff are very friendly and I was kindly greeted. The rooms are very dated and quite run down and some of the wallpaper has come off. If all you want is somewhere to lay your head overnight it's fine. My first room the window on the ground floor could be easily opened as it wouldn't lock. So when I told reception they happily moved me to another room. It can be quite noisy at night from just people walking around in the room above you. And there is no in hotel restaurant. You are offered take away menus or there is a service station attached for some snacks. If you are used to staying in the Hilton you will have a shock. But all in all for a quick, cheap lay over you have most of the things you need - a bed, TV, hot shower and pleasant staff. Collapse

Stayed with family at this hotel for one night as we were attending a 40th birthday nearby. We arrived about 3/4 hour early and were told if we wanted to check into our rooms then there would be an extra charge of £10 per room !!! we declined this and said we would wait and the Receptionist did kindly offer us coffee but then checked if the rooms were available so in all we only waited 15 minutes before checking in which was great as one daughter had travelled with 2 young children for 3 hours. The rooms were quite large with a welcome hospitality tray, very clean and lovely hot showers. They beds were comfortable and each had a mattress protector on them however the pillows did Not which surprised me but the were clean and not stained which we were happy about, there are extra pillows in the room if needed which we did use as they were quite flats when laid on. It was a cold day and the heater was not on but we realised you have to leave key card in slot to get it to work it was quite a small heater for a large room and took a while to warm up. The staff were all friendly and helpful and took the time to accommodate everyone's needs. The downside was couldn't get a decent phone signal till went outside and could not connect to the WIFI again had to go outside we put it down to the position of the room we were in. There is not on site Food but they offer takeaway menus which did not affect us as we were going to be out, there is a services shop next to hotel but a limited choice but there are plenty of pubs in nearby area if required Parking outside is fine and on check in you have to type in your car registration which was a good feature. We would definitely stay here again and even for flying from East Midlands Airport its ideal to be refreshed instead of panicking on the roads trying to get there. Collapse

Cheap, clean and friendly

Rooms are basic but beds comfy. The staff were really helpful and friendly. They offered us glasses and ice. The ordered us taxis as well as being very smiley and welcoming. It is a little noisy but that's to be expected with a service station hotel.

I used this motel as a one night stopover on my way north. I had stayed there a couple of times previously and whilst it has always provided limited services, it was adequate and worth the money as a one night stopover. However this time the service had declined. Previously if you arrived at a reasonable hour you managed to get a hot meal. This service is now not available and you have to choose snacks from the service area. Most of the hot snacks were dried up and unpalatable. There is no mobile phone service (Vodaphone) and I lost 70p trying to use the hotel pay phone. Luckily enough the receptionist allowed me to use the hotel phone for a short call. The rooms require refurbishment and I was given a noisy room overlooking the forecourt of the service station. The receptionist was friendly and helpful which was the only redeeming feature of my stay. The room rate is outrageous considering the motel's location and level of service. Never again! Collapse
