So. The Days inn hotel on broadway, what can we say? Good point: the beds are comfortable. Buckle up, here’s the bad points; It’s dirty, and I mean, really dirty. I think it was last cleaned in the 90’s. We had the delight of staying in two rooms during our stay, firstly room 430 which was noisy, the windows were held in with gaffer tape and the heating sounded like a steam train. However the receptionist assured us that this was normal and that she would send an engineer to switch it off. Said heating was then switched off but after one night we requested a room change due to the dirt and street noise. I asked if the receptionist if this room would be better and she insisted it would so she must have known it was a crappy room... So moving on to our second room, 510, which appeared to be slightly cleaner and smelt slightly better. The neighbours were having what I would probably call a party and when complaining to reception we were again told an engineer would be sent up?! It appears that people live in this hotel and smoke a lot... It’s worth noting that the heating and TV did not work but we had given up by this stage so we just asked for another blanket. On our last night we had the pleasure of an overflowing toilet, cue engineer visiting with his plunger at 10pm. To sum up we would not recommend this hotel, yes it’s cheap but it’s unclean and bizarre to say the least. Collapse
You Get What You Pay For

You get what you pay for at this budget-priced hotel. Don't expect any more than that. Good price, small room (but so are most NYC hotels). Nice lobby, but the rest of the hotel could use a remodel and freshen up.

The lobby is nice and the people are friendly however our room was in great need of renovation. The carpet was faded with holes and we had a 90's tv that would just shut off at random times and maintenance looked at it and then walked away... Didn't fix it. The room next door sounded like a construction zone. The walls are paper thin... the 7th floor (we didn't stay on this floor) reeked of Marijuana and the elevators are very old and slow. Collapse
Better then sleeping on the street, but not by much.

There are some positives about the Days Inn Hotel, the location is great. For starters, outside I heard no noise which for New York is great. In addition, the 96th Street subway is right next to the Hotel. The Subway goes to Central Park, Times Square, and Broadway. Which are all great tourists attractions. The Hotel lobby is pretty clean and the seating is very comfortable, staff was also friendly. Downsides of the lobby was they do have an exercise, which is good for workouts, but T.V quality was horrible and very few channels. Also, there was only two exercise machines. There are bathrooms in the lobby but the doors do not open and the smells were TERRIBLE. The elevators were fine a little slow and smelly but whatever. We got onto the top floor and the smell of weed was SO BAD it was almost unbearable. I have never smelled so much weed in one place at a time. We were staying on the fourth floor, the wallpaper was peeling but no mildew ( that I could see). We got into our room,217, it looked decent but I guess you get what you pay for. We did a room inspection just to make sure. The beds were okay and pretty comfortable. The desk was sticky and the chair was broken and falling apart. The T.V was way older than I was and the quality was poor. The bathroom was awful the bathtub had weird stains and we had no towels only was wash cloths. The mirror was broken and there was tape on it. When I went to take a shower I had a lot of trouble with the water temp. I read some reviews that said the water was too could but my experience was different. I couldn't figure out how to get cold water so I took a shower in SUPER hot water. Also, wear flip flops you will need them. I had a great sleep sheets were comfy and bed was comfy. I used my own pillow though. I wouldn't stay here again but decent if you are looking for a cheap hotel. Collapse
It’s an experience ...

Well I’m not sure where to begin here really ... me and my partner stayed here for 7 nights during January 2018. We had an early flight into JFK & headed straight to the hotel. We were told very quickly that there was no chance of an early check in so we left out cases and went off for the afternoon. When we arrived back we got our room... we had the top floor so squeezed in to the tiny lifts and got to our room. Which from what we could work out was one of the “refurbished” rooms although it looked like I had been done about 10 years ago. It was very well used!! On the plus side the heating definitely worked!! We were lucky enough to have no issues with the room, everything we needed worked, the bed was comfy and considering we were in New York the hotel was basically somewhere to crash after a day of exploring. There are definitely residents that live in the hotel who smoke as in the hallways and lift you can smell it along with some funky smoke smells... probably answers why we would wake up starving everyday!! When we checked out we were able to leave our cases for the day before we had to head back to the airport. They can arrange airport transfers if you wish. We just used the subway. Overall if you want somewhere to crash that’s cheap and has a subway close by then this is okay for you. If you’re looking for something where you’ll be spending more time then look else where ......
