After a recent fall, broken ankle and subsequent ankle surgery on a RTW trip, I found myself ready to remove the cast but nervous about how I would be functioning. I researched medical spas and found Danubius had a range on offer but that this was the most convenient property with a range of therapeutic extras that I believed would be beneficial. I booked in for a one-week stay and it was so worthwhile that I ended up staying for two. During my time at the hotel, I used one of the packages per week (10 treatments the first week, 18 the next) to aid in my recovery - this included excellent physiotherapy care, medical massages, doctor visits, and more. The ease of having the thermal pools on site was fantastic - I was able to nip down first thing in the morning when my ankle was stiff to warm it up and would periodically go down when I felt like relaxing. I also used the swimming pool to strengthen and well-equipped gym to increase my cardio and for additional physio stretches. Remarkably, the hotel also has other practitioners on site, I had my heart checked by the cardiologist, my teeth cleaned at the dentist and if I had required laser surgery on my eyes, that could have been done under the same roof too - amazing! I was staying in one of the renovated rooms and it was great - very modern and clean, comfortable beds, the right sized pillows and a neat balcony to hang out on in my spare time. The shower had both a large rainforest head and a separate hose, though with a normal size shower head. This was great for me as, with a stool they bought in, I was able to take a seated shower without any trouble. The hotel location was awesome! The beautiful setting on Margarit Island means you have the convenience of the city a short bus ride away, yet the sanctity of nature around you for the majority of your time. I really appreciated this in the evenings when you could not hear the thrum of noise that you normally would from a capital city! The island has a good 5km walking track, petting zoo, outdoor pool and quaint Japanese gardens. The bus leaves outside the hotel or boats go from the other end of the island. Finally, my stay was made so memorable by the staff at Danubius. They went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable, to encourage me in my progress and their friendliness and warmth was beyond most hotels I've stayed at. I have food allergies, including gluten, and while there were always gluten free options available at meal times (clearly labelled at the buffet), my low FODMAP diet meant that was not also possible for me to enjoy. It seemed to be no inconvenience for me to get a customised meal and I enjoyed some delicious meals. I would highly recommend coming her if you have any kind of physical ailment to heal - I met people from around the world healing broken bones, arthritis, rheumatism and more and everyone was so pleased with their progress. The atmosphere at the hotel is pleasant. The staff were very kind and gave the hotel guests a welcome feel. The level of cleanliness and service were satisfactory. All in all, the cost-effectiveness of the hotel is highly recommended. In my opinion, the opening hours of the pool and hot tub should be extended beyond 21:30. The variety of television stations should be increased, and the speed of Internet surfing should be increased. Collapse

Very nice hotel with lovely spa amenities but the weather outside was cold and my room was cold. The heat was turned off and the hotel refused to turn it on because it was hot a day or so before I arrived. I had to ask for a heater in the room which they did provide. But it was big and bulky. I was asked to rate this hotel on a customer satisfaction survey but when I clicked on the link, it turns out it is a review on Trip Advisor, not a customer satisfaction survey. The management of this hotel need to be more honest with their customers. Collapse
