Just returned from the most relaxing holiday ever, from day one we felt totally chilled. The hotel is everything that you could want in a holiday.its friendly spotlessly clean professional and serves a fabulous variety of food beautifully presented ,add to that it's convenient position and super swimming pool and the most fabulous panoramic view I don't know what more you could ask for! The hotel had a feeling of belonging to some unique sort of club without being cliquey as returning patrons catch up on each others lives from previous visits and I can't wait to return next year. Well done to all the staff! Collapse

I am seasoned traveller to Puerto De Pollenca, in the North of the wonderful island of Mallorca. This was a home from home destination for me as a child, the first time of visiting when i was just five or six, and then every year there after until the age of 18. As a resort i have the fondest memories of the place, so when I went back there for the first time last year with my partner and mum (some 23 years later) i was not sure what to expect. Puerto Pollenca in itself, has not changed one bit. Different shops maybe, and different bars and restaurants, but no high rise, no extensive building work and sprawling urbanisations - and most notably - no banging clubs and bars, meaning that the resort remains a good old fashioned family destination. It was my first stay in the Hotel Daina last year and i loved it so much, that we booked up to come back this year. So lets break it down in to bite size chunks! The hotel itself is in a top location. Situated at the beginning of the Pine Walk and overlooking the bay, and the marina, it stands proudly at centre stage. It has retained the look of when it was built, in the early 1960's, but has had extensive modernisation internally, meaning that on first impressions, you walk in to a cool, marble reception area, whereby you are greeted by friendly and very helpful staff, who cant do enough, throughout your stay. The restaurant and terrace look out over the front, so when having breakfast in the mornings, you have time to take in the breath taking beauty, that is Pollenca Bay. The breakfast is a buffet style, with plenty of options including fresh fruit, cold meats, cheeses, and hot buffet. Alternatively you can go to the "egg bar" and have freshly cooked omelette, scrambled eggs, fried eggs .... well, you get it! The waiting staff are efficient and smily! The rooms are to die for. We stayed in a beautiful suit on the fourth floor, with a balcony to the side, giving us extensive views of the bay, marina and the mountains behind. The bathrooms are new this year, and the beds are super comfy. The mini bar is stocked with water daily. There are TV's, hairdryers and irons in the rooms. Now for me, the best feature by far is the fact that the hotel has a sea water swimming pool, which stretches out to the front of the hotel, in to the bay itself. We were there in June and the pool was a lovely temperature to swim in. There are sun beds and umbrellas a plenty and considering that two beds and an umbrella on the beach now costs €25 a day, you can immediately see the saving you make there! To add to this already fantastic feature, is the Lemon Tree Pool Bar. By day this is run by the fantastically efficient and happy Manolo, who makes the difference between an average pool bar and a great pool bar. He remembered us from the previous year from the get go, which always gives you a massive feel good factor. And boy does he work hard. He runs around ensuring that you are looked after from 9 in the morning until gone 6 at night. The place never looks untidy, food and empty glasses are cleared away quickly so the place never attracts flies and other unwanted creepy crawlies. And most of all, he never has anything other than a happy face! Its this fact alone that I feel encourages people to hang out and enjoy the food and drink service here, rather than wonder off elsewhere. By night the bar turns in to a buzzing place to sit and enjoy sundowners. Ana, one of the waitresses is a little star! And she works like a trojan! They have great entertainment on several of the evenings. Real classy stuff. Fantastic guitarists - including the incredible Mariano Miranda - check him out on You Tube if you don't know him! Anyway, i am already dreaming of my next trip there next year and could not recommend this place highly enough! Enjoy! :) Collapse

We stayed at the Daina for eleven nights from 29th May to 9th of June. This is our fifth time at this hotel. Everything about this hotel is excellent but above all the wonderful staff. Alex in reception who greeted us as if we were his personal friends.Just delightful and nothing is too much trouble for him. In the dining room the presentation and standard of food is superb. We have to mention the staff who looked after us so well. Ably led by Leandro who has a unique and lovely way of interacting with diners. The waiters who work so hard deserve some acknowledgement. They work incredibly long hours and they are an absolute credit to the Hoposa group. They perform their duties to a really high professional standard. The facilities at the hotel are excellent including the saltwater pool, which is a joy for swimming. We can recommend this hotel without reservation. Not the cheapest but one of the best. Collapse

We spent a week in June at Hotel Daina which we very much enjoyed. The location, right in the middle of town, but on a pedestrian promenade is wonderful, and the seawater pool is large and well maintained. The staff were very helpful, especially Cristina, who was always smily and friendly, and they sorted out several issues we had, mainly to do with the disabled adaptations in our room. The reason we are not giving the hotel a 5 star rating is that the wheelchair adapted room was not sufficiently well adapted for a wheelchair user to feel safe. The hotel hired additional equipment to amend this, but not enough thought went into how to make a room easy to use, such as a mirror at sitting height, two hand grips for shower and toilet etc. They did their best, but perhaps this feedback will encourage the management to improve the facilities. Also there is no disabled toilet in any of the hotel's public areas, or regular toilet without using stairs. We loved the large pool which was clean and usually had the pool to ourselves. There is a lowering/raising chair for disabled users, and the the lifeguard was very helpful to my husband in helping him transfer into it. Our room, towards the rear of the hotel was quiet, and the beds good. Collapse

I can't speak highly enough of this hotel. The staff are so incredibly friendly, always greeting guests with a smile, the location is brilliant, the pool a real bonus, it's spotlessly clean and the refurbished rooms are superb. We visited for 2 weeks and stayed on the 6th floor. While the rooms are small this is compensated as you get a large balcony (on the sea facing rooms) with loungers, table and chairs. The bathroom had a brilliant walk in shower and this was much preferred over the old bath with overhead shower. Breakfast is brilliant - you're spoilt for choice and, again, everyone meets and greets the guests with a BIG smile. We spent most days at the pool and the chap serving there was superb. WHY on earth the hotel didn't have two staff on duty was more that a bit confusing as guests had to wait while he ran back and forth to the hotel with food orders. The pool was busy every day, with all loungers full, so it certainly wasn't quiet enough to warrant only one staff member. Everyone we spoke to wondered the same. Our one grip that, despite being asked not to, some guests STILL put towels down and then disappear for hours. This really isn't fair to the other guests and we felt the lifeguard should have removed the towels. Understandable if you're going for lunch but many people disappeared for more than 2 hours while guests struggled to find spare loungers. We saw on 2 different days a family of 5 and a family of 4 arrive, put down towels and then disappear for 3+hours and on market day the majority of loungers were covered with towels while there was no-one to be seen. We also noticed families coming in, who were not guests, sitting on the couches, letting the children use the pool (and some adults) for an hour or so and then head out. Not fair to paying guests. This should be stopped by putting a combination lock on the gate. Collapse
