This is the absolute worst. Save yourself the time - ignore their website. It is FAR from accurate. For a hotel that markets itself as a "boutique hotel" - they sure do have a lot to learn. The valet situation is odd to say the least. We explained we were checking in, and he asked us for a room number. Well, after we check in, we will let you know. The front desk was too busy playing on their cell phones to bother saying hello. After we got keys, (mind you, no signed registration card, no explanations, no details of any kind) we were directed around the corner to an elevator. It was sketchy to be polite. Scratches, gang symbols, and I was fairly confident it was going to stop working at any moment. Entering the room was even worse. Dingy curtains hanging on the wall - why on earth would you use curtains as wall coverings? A lamp that looked like it had some sort of food particle, or blood spatter. Lets hope its not the latter. The bed was 2 inches off the floor and sounded like it was going to break at any minute. Remotes are the dirtiest thing in hotel rooms, and it didn't disappoint its stereotype. Gross. This entire property was just gross. I can't imagine how much money was spent photoshopping the website to make it look halfway presentable. Collapse

Arriving at night the staff was initially unprofessional. The two clerks talked amongst each other and not welcome me. Upon arrival you realize that the hotel is one that is old but has been given an some low cost and low quality renovations with a contemporary feel. The halls are dark, lighting dim. walls are painted dark. Elevator was old and mirrors dirty. Room was a disappointment. There where two IKEA lamps with dim bulbs in bed area. The cabinetry looked abused as varnish was worn off of counter in small servers spot for coffe brewer. Shower worked, low quality of finishing touches. The room was much like a dorm room. The worst part was the bed. I lies down and my feet where at a higher level than my head due to the matress being excessively compressed in the area where a persons body rests. I ended up sleeping with my head at the edge of the bed and feet where the expected your head to be. Overall it was inexpensive for Lax and would suggest it if you are only on a tight budget. The area has a Starbucks next door in a grocery store that will also help those on a budget. Collapse

This hotel was terrifying. We needed a hotel near LAX because we had an early morning flight and a 3 year old that needed all the sleep he could get. Reviews looked good and this seemed like a hipster hotel. It was not. To start off with, the hotel is hard to find (both for us and our Uber driver the next morning). The hallways are painted dark grey with red doors. It reminded me of a bad college apartment paint job. The door to our room was in an alcove so you couldn’t see if someone was approaching you from behind. The rooms had no lighting and were dirty. The bathtub had mold around the drain. There was black hair in the sink. The bathroom door wouldn't close because of the paint. It also had frosted glass on the door, which meant when someone went to the bathroom at night, it lit up the whole room and woke everyone up. The bathroom floor was painted concrete. How is that sanitary? Upon entry, we immediately noticed a flashing neon light in the window. Surprise, it wasn't outside, it was in our window. We quickly disconnected it. The room was very poorly lit with only 2 small lamps. The curtains that covered the window and one wall were dingy. The bed was in the middle of the room and on a carpeted platform. The sheets were tucked under the mattress touching the carpet (which was covered in lint and hair) - filthy. The white sheets and pillow cases had black stains on them. I was afraid to walk around the room barefoot. The next morning when we were leaving our room at 4:15 AM, we heard screaming and cursing coming down the hall. We quickly hit the "close door" button on the elevator. While waiting for the Uber in the lobby with our groggy 3 year old, the elevator opened and out stepped a clearly inebriated man with dirty clothes. No one was at the front desk so he proceed to ask us about the time, when the grocery store opened, and whether we could supply him with cigarettes. When he didn't get what he wanted, he logged onto the lobby internet, clearly "at home" in the hotel. When the front desk person came back, he didn't even bother to ask the gentleman who was clearly disturbing us if he could be of assistance. They must be used to dirty, inebriated patrons at this hotel. By the way, if you have an early morning flight, the shuttle does not start to run until 5:00 AM and breakfast is not served until 6:00 AM. I have stayed at many hotels and motels in my time and this was by the far the worst experience I have had (and I was once short-sheeted). Collapse

I decided to stay here because I was flying out of LAX very early and had to return a rental car and travel with a child and thought we'd get a few more hours of sleep vs driving the three hour drive from my family's home. I wish I hadn't or had chose another, better hotel. First off the $35 parking is outrageous. But at least it was a 24 hour parking with valet. There are only two luggage carts for the entire hotel so if you check in when it's busy you're SOL. The lobby is probably the best part of the hotel and is deceiving once you get to your small and dingy dirty room. First you must go up the elevator which you will probably think will break down while using it. It's dirty and damaged with dings and knicks and hasn't been cleaned or updated since they opened. Once inside your room you'll have walked in the halls with carpet that is much of the same. Inside your room you'll see that The bed sits on the floor and comes with two sad pillows and two thin blankets and sheets. It's a queen size and it's not entirely uncomfortable to sleep on if you can keep warm. It's the type of bed that you want to check for bed bugs. I didn't find any, thank god. However to be safe I slept with all my clothes on. There is a unstable wicket nightstand with a dated alarm clock along with a light that stands on the floor. There is a tv with limited channels that is oddly mounted in the middle of a wall that is covered with dingy and dirty curtains. And then next to the window is a mood light strip that can be set to different color settings and mood blinking lights. The bathroom is bleak with a shower tub that is chipped and cracked. There's a pedestal sink and a toilet that when sat upon and the door opens the door will hit you in the knees. The door barely locks and there isn't a fan to keep odors away. Which doesn't really matter cause the hotel has an odor anyway. Theycdo have nice smelling shower amenities. If you're reminded of your college dorm days then you're right. This hotel is appropriate for the college and partying people alike. Not worth the price they charge either. Yes they do offer a complimentary shuttle that has limited hours, they do have a pool and offer food during limited hours as well and they do have a cardio room which holds old treadmills and bikes. I recommend staying anyplace else. Please do. It waste your time or money by booking a room. Collapse

If you stay at a hotel where you get a consistent experience then the Custom is for you. Clean rooms, no frills, close to the airport which in LA put you in easy Uber distance to Beverly Hills and the 405. Request a high room keeps noise down. Breakfast is a little over rated which is why I don't give them an excellent. My feeling is either give it away or make it exception. Their breakfast is no different than what you find at a holiday in Express for free. Otherwise a good solid 4 star rating and if you arrive from overseas from LAX its ten minutes to bed. Collapse
