Tired old building in need of some renovations and repairs. Saggy mattress. Dated furniture. Broken desk chair. Elevators 1 & 5 were locked out so you always wait and wait. Avoid the buffet breakfast. Restaurant opened at 5:30am and by 5:50am the food was COLD. These trays should have been hot and the food warmed but instead everything was cold and rubbery. Someone is going to get sick. Clearly not following safe food handling procedures! Hector did not seem to be worried about it so I left my expensive, uneaten breakfast and returned to my room to depart. Collapse

Air Canada booked us here for a night when we missed our connecting flight home. The hotel is fine, the rooms are comfortable (although the whole 10th floor smelled like cigarette smoke) but the food was absolutely horrendous. I wasn't expecting fine dining or anything but I was expecting it to be edible. We ordered nachos from room service, and it looked like the kitchen had taken a bunch of dirty, half eaten plates of nachos and just scrapped all the leftovers into a basket and put strips of lettuce on top before arriving at our room. I can honestly say that it was the worst meal I've ever had. Collapse

Stayed here for two nights for a sports tournament. I have stayed in many Crown Plaza over the years and this one has got to be one of my least favorite simply because it is very dated and rooms are small. This hotel will benefit from a face life. There was some work being done at the entrance which i hope is the beginning of renovations. Until this hotel is completely renovated, I’d rather stay at other hotels nearby which, as I found, have comparable rates. Collapse
Started out ok on first night but not so much after that

Checked into this hotel which was close to the expo I exhibit at every year and to the airport a bonus! I never have stayed here and thought I'd give it a chance. I checked in after 8 pm on Monday night and the front desk receptionist was an awesome and friendly woman. Told me I was upgraded to a King Suite on the 7th floor. Did not know what that entailed but was happy to have a room and a restaurant at the hotel that was still open after a long day of travel delays. I just wanted something light and the hostess at the hotel restaurant suggested the kale salad with a protein like salmon or chicken and that was really perfect. First night everything seemed good. Second day I left for an all day expo and dinner with clients afterwards. I came back and went to the front desk and asked for three water bottles and was greeted with a less than friendly front desk staff who clearly seemed put off with me. I was tired and just wanted to get to my room and relax. I got up to my room after a long wait at the elevators only to find my key did not work. I was trying to use the phone in the hall by the elevators and it was not working and a hotel patron in the hall was laughing at that. I thought there must be a joke I am not in on so I went down to the lobby again after leaving my bag by the door of my room and told the same unfriendly front desk person my key did not work and that I needed new keys. He was not happy and demanded I show him my id even though he just charged my room for water! I was in tears and upset and told him he did not need to act like a jerk but I used another term. He humiliated me in front of hotel guests behind me. I lost my son a few years ago and was talking to a colleague just before I came into the hotel and was clearly upset. I was devastated to be treated so poorly by hotel staff and will never stay at this hotel again! You don't know what someone, a guest is going through in their life and this to me was the worst treatment from a staff member ever and I stay at hotels all over the world! Also I usually write positive reviews and this is the only bad review I have ever written. The next morning I woke up to find my folio by the door and a charge from the bar that I clearly did not go to or charge to my room. When I called the front desk they were defending the front desk rep from the night before telling me that they had me on camera and accused me of interrupting other guests checking in when I did not do that. They also said that the guest who referred to me as “blondie and an expletive” were going to vouch for the so called man at the front desk who was not nice to me when he clearly could see my distress. They said they did not know how the charge got put on but they would look into it. Wow is all I have to say! You really should be ashamed of yourselves! Collapse

We had problems on a flight connection at the airport, which resulted in the airline putting us up for the night at the Crowne Plaza Toronto Airport Hotel. A shuttle provided a ride to the hotel and then back to the airport the next day, which was good. This Crowne Plaza is not the usual Crowne Plaza as most of us might be familiar with. It serves a decent purpose for when there are problems at Toronto Airport, but that is probably what happens often at that airport. Our experience was quite messy and there were many of us that night on the same flight, going to Paris. Our checkin went fairly smooth, our room was decent and we did not have noise issues. We had breakfast in the Brasserie Restaurant of the Hotel, I had Blueberry Pancakes that were very good. My husband had an omelet that he said was OK. So my summary of that ordeal was that the hotel was ok for an unexpected stay there. Collapse
