Valet or self park onsite, valet service was great and billed at $35/night. We stayed in their PH level which has a really great layout. From the looks of things we had the best possible hotel operated room, PH10. The partial ocean view PH's are very limited and city view offers a much less desirable scenario. It's a condo hotel and you can feel the rivalry in the posted signs in the lobby. All things considered, we did not partake in one of their very nice beachfront amenities including attended chairs/towels and umbrella on beach included in your room stay. The PH rooms have a rooftop balcony that has a daily maintained jacuzzi, covered open air patio, sink, fridge, iPod connector w/ stereo and a lounge area. The property is a bit dated and while clean, in need of a lot of paint touch up and general improvement to regain what should be and I'm sure once was, a slick feel. Hallway carpets are worn, art dated, room furniture a bit tired, rooftop balconies in need of paint job, the jacuzzi refinishing etc. I repeat, it's "clean" just showing lots of use. Gym is open air and lacking significant airflow, flies/mosquitos were a nuisance in the gym and I would not want to even walk in during non-winter months. Hotel decor has too much dark wood to feel hip these days but service was good and really, we were pretty happy with the experience. Hotel offered options for in room/rooftop spa services and we chose a couples massage which was an excellent value and good experience. I hope they make updates soon, I'd come back if it was refreshed. As long as you understand what I've tried to covey above, you'll find a good location and have a good experience. Room layout very tough to beat. If you can get a partial ocean view it's worth it, not sure I'd have left happy w/ anything else. Further east you get in the building the less late night club noise you'll get from the western club neighbor's. Special mention to front desk staffer Brianna who was a joy to deal with and very helpful and informative. Collapse

Beds made me want to lay in bed all day. The rain shower with four body jets was heaven, especially for sore muscles. The location was Collins and Ocean and there were so many restaurants and nightlife spots in close proximity that it was hard to chose. The Front Porch Café was excellent for breakfast/brunch. Great place to relax, unwind and enjoy what the hotel and South Beach have to offer. We will definitely stay there again. The staff at the property are Z--riffic. This is now a Crowne Plaza. Collapse

I almost don't want to write the review, because I want this hotel to be a secret! It's in a great location, close enough to the action, but just far enough from the noise. It's between ocean and Collins, so you don't need a car. When it comes to service, all I can say is that everyone at every point was just top notch and super nice. We had reserved a suite, but were upgraded to a penthouse, which is just fantastic. It's an updated hotel and I really have nothing to critique. They also provide an umbrella and two chairs (towels included) for all guests. Overall a gem. Collapse

The Z Ocean Hotel is a great alternative to the pricier upscale hotels on South Beach. The level of service and room is the same as an upscale hotel but without the hefty price tags. It is not located directly on Ocean (right on the beach) but it is only a short block away and does have its own umbrella, chair, and towel stand on the beach. It is centrally located on South Beach a short walk away from the most popular restaurants and bars. Service at the hotel was fantastic and very quick and everyone was incredibly friendly. The restaurant downstairs, Front Porch Café, is great for breakfast and brunch (and does get crowded). Great for quiet couple vacations or family trips. While they do have a pool, don’t expect a pool party scene- it was generally empty for most of our stay and is on the smaller side. Therefore, would not recommend paying extra to upgrade to a pool lanai room (also less privacy in these rooms as your outdoor area is shared with the pool). Instead, I would prefer to stick with the less expensive South Beach suites. We originally booked the South Beach suite but upon check-in were offered a deal on upgrading to the rooftop terrace suites. The actual room itself was similar to the South Beach suite but the rooftop hot-tub was worth the value for us. Because there wasn’t really a pool scene, we used the private hot tub during the mornings and late at night before bed. It was a great way to relax and while we did end up paying quite a bit more (but much less than if we had booked directly online rather than waiting for check-in) it was worth the value for us. However, the “partial” ocean view from the rooftop was pretty much non-existent. We visited in September when it got a little chilly in the evening so it was a nice evening cap to have some champagne in a nice warm hot tub at the end of the night. If you aren’t going to make good use of the hot tub, then this room is not worth the extra money. Collapse

We stayed here in February 2015 my birthday getaway. The room was very chic and modern. Very big and we loved the rain shower. It's also offers mini bar and espresso maker. Nice big patio were we sat and had breakfast and a slight view to the ocean. Very comfortable and clean, perfect for couples. Nicely located away from action but still close to everything. There also is a Lil convenient store behind the hotel if forget anything and happy hour offered daily. Very pricey but worth it, staff was great and accommodating. Collapse
