Hotel is perfect nice room, friendly and helpful staff , good breakfast buffet, roof top bar and two restaurant. Service was very good and check in fast and efficient . The location is about 10 mins walk to old town but close to mirabelkeplatz where one can take the tour buses . Would definetly come back to this hotel . Only drawback was service of food by Mr pfeiffer in the Keller restaurant below very rude attitude and should not be in hospitality . Collapse

The room was very comfortable and quiet. One of the best hotel beds I've had so far. I liked the bathroom but would have liked it even more if there was space to put one's things. As it is, there's only the tiny area surrounding the sink. You have to live out of your sponge bag, not very comfortable. Very good wifi connection. I found the staff to be very pleasant and courteous, but it was a little surprising that one staff didn't know the Mozarteum in a city entirely dedicated to Mozart and during Mozart Week. The Skylight bar is warm and welcoming. Very good cocktails. Excellent dinner in the 6th floor restaurant and very nice staff. Wonderful vie of the city. Very good breakfast. But the Pitter Keller was a disastrous experience. If you are going to host a huge group of people, then maybe you should not take in additional guests unless you're sure they will be treated as well as the other guests. Our small group was forbidden from approaching the bar reserved for the large group, then was shunted into a small very bleak room that looked more like the backroom of a tavern than a restaurant. It felt like being sent to a dark corner for some kind of penance. We were midway through the second course before the wine we ordered was brought. Before that, it was plain water. Our hapless waiter cannot be blamed, he was all alone to handle everything. Two waiters for 22 people would not have been excessive, but they were all busy with the other party. The food was really dire. Almost no one finished their plate. Overdone salmon on plain spinach without even a slice of lemon? Dessert was also disappointing: commercial vanilla ice cream on a tiny bed of canned peaches and whipped cream out of a spray can. Not good. Except for this, the experience was great. Consider not setting foot downstairs. Collapse

The hotel was easy to reach by bus from the airport. Rooms were well appointed, quiet and comfortable. Staff were very helpful. We walked into city centre across the river and caught buses from very closeby to attractions a bit further out. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel but used a good coffee shop just across the road. We did eat in the Pitta Bierkeller (charming staff, very Austrian food) and used the rooftop bar. It wasn't a 'wow' hotel, but was good value. Collapse

My husband and I stayed here last week for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. We had a large room - very tastefully decorated in modern muted colours with splashes of colour with purple cushions and bed 'throw'. Large windows and one that opened too which was great and avoiding that claustrophobic feeling. Wooden flooring was unusual ( certainly in my experience) but meant that the room felt cleaner. Nice touches included the 'pillow spray' and the 'tea drink' as well as bottled water ( not sure if that was charged to be fair) Bathroom was spacious and has an excellent radiator that pumped out lovely heat! Lots of towels and bath robes and slippers. Small shaving mirror with integral light- but as with every hotel I have stayed in no decent mirror or light for doing make up, or pots for holding make up brushes and toiletries. The Sky Bar was GREAT - airy and spacious with wonderful views over Salzburg. Seating was comfortable and stylish. Really chilled out vibe- decent music but not intrusive. Wide range of drinks and great menu- food was high standard and modern. The bar staff spoke really good English and were friendly and really Professional. In the Saturday night the place was packed but the 2 staff on duty provided excellent service, did not appear flustered and were still polite and diligent. Breakfast was extensive and served in the panoramic restaurant. Wide range of choice and again, staff were all friendly and helpful. Decent coffee from the machine. I would thoroughly r commend the CP. all amenities within easy walking distance. We look forward to a return trip Collapse

Very nice modern hotel, away from the crowds - yet still close enough to walk to oldest parts of Salzburg. Also, 5 minutes by taxi to train station. We booked a Junior Suite which was very nice. The bathroom was huge, and updated with all amenities. The bed & bedding were extremely comfortable. The only thing lacking in the room is a coffee maker. The kettle is fine for making tea, but freeze dried coffee grounds in this level of a hotel? The restaurant/bar at the top of the hotel was outstanding (best to make a reservation for dinner). The quality of the cuisine equally matching the view. The restaurant on the ground floor looked as though it didn't belong in the same hotel. Perhaps that is why there was no one eating there, while the upstairs restaurant was full each evening. Salzburg is quite charming, yet can be very crowded. The Crown Plaza offers a nice escape.
