I decided to stay here whilst attending a seminar in a hotel across the road as the Crowne Plaza had better amenities. I booked in advance online via their app and got a good deal which included breakfast. From the airport I believe there is a tfl bus route which takes you close by and also a shuttle service which is around £7 return. Failing that a black cab costs around £12. My welcome was very pleasant and apparently they upgraded my room to give me more space as I was staying for 3 nights! Very nice. The room was as expected: tea, coffee and hot chocolate, hair dryer and iron. There was also an iron board. It was very roomy with 2 double beds - lots of space. Everything was fresh and clean. No disappointments there. However, I was disappointed that my breakfast had not been registered. The lovely woman meeting and greeting was not expecting me. I showed her my booking and she sat me down before checking with reception. I also checked with reception and had this amended. Next day - same thing! That aside the breakfast was very good with lots of options. The dining area has a nice ambience. The bar opposite is a little pricey...a cold chicken sandwich for £8. The Indian restaurant is also rather expensive but the food is very tasty. Choices to eat are limited in the area due to the location. The spa facilities were very nice and although the gym is small it is accessible. I only wish it could stay open a little longer as I didn't have much time after I returned to eat and then relax. The room was comfortable and I slept very well. I hardly heard any noise from the corridor or outside. I very much enjoyed my stay here and will definitely be back. The staff were so nice, particularly the meet and greeter at breakfast and the guys on the gym reception. Thanks for making my stay a pleasant one. Collapse

Don’t take this package please. You are limited to eating from a set menu which is disastrous. Each person can eat up to £22 is misleading. They won’t allow you to choose dishes from the main menu even when I was willing to pay the excess over £22. I wish a hotel group of ihg’s size is more transparent about it. Similar packages in holiday inn (from the same group) is much flexible. It could well be due to the staff on that day. But hotel management need be careful about how they respond to customer requests. Being a frequent business visitor to ihg group I was truly let down by crown plaza heathrow. Never to this hotel again. Collapse

We stayed over night prior to our holiday to New York, it was my husbands birthday on the day and I informed the hotel in advance and that I am an IHG Platinum member. What I thought would happen was a little cake with happy birthday on it, what we received completely blew our minds! A card signed by every member of the front desk staff, bottle of wine, chocolates, sweets, upgraded room and access to the club lounge. My husband was so surprised and elated, I just can’t thank the team enough for their hospitality. I have stayed at this hotel before and would recommend again. The only thing I need to alert people to is the food choices, last time we had breakfast at the hotel which was amazing and so was the Irish Pub for dinner, this time because it was my husbands birthday we booked Eriki which is on site but external to Crowne Plaza, it was very expensive, the service was 1/10, my full review will be on the review of the restaurant, on check out I was asked how my stay was and I explained excellent except for this restaurant experience and even though the restaurant has nothing to do with the hotel they gave me 25% off my bill to apologise which I was grateful for, all in all a wonderful stay but eat at the hotel restaurant or the onsite pub! We decided to book this hotel to stay near the airport before flying early morning the next day. We booked parking and paid for it through the booking. On arrival at the hotel the car park was rammed and there was not a space anywhere. No attendant in the car park or signs of where you should be going. Eventually we found some sort of an overflow car park which quite literally was a cow patch. I think it is very unfair that I was sold this space to park my car in a muddy field, cars were struggling to park slipping and sliding. For anyone struggling with mobility definitely don't get out in the field. We got in and mentioned our issues to the manager who said that he was new and did not know what was going on with the car park. On check in the member of staff upgraded the room, great. Only thing is we booked a twin room and were given a double bed, having to head all the way back down to reception to sort it out. We didn't use any of the facilities so I can't comment on this! All in all I would find another hotel to stay at should I need one in the future. Collapse

OK., Let's go back to my norm. I like the Crowne Plaza brand and try to stay loyal, but this last stint could be the beginning of the end with for this journey. Let's start with the check-in. Hmmm... I remember I wrote once upon a time that customer service in the service industry, you only get one shot at making an impression. Well, they surely did. Although efficient, they were very cold and didn't both asking the prefunctory membership questions. Well, off to the room. I haven't been so disappointed in a very long time. Getting off the elevator there was an indiscribable mustiness in the air and upon opening the hotel room door, it was in there as well. It was if the rooms were never aired out. Well, it was getting late, so i decided to make a cup of tea, Oh my goodness, but what did I find in one of the coffee cups, but a hair. That was the just about all i could handle. That little tidbit illuminated what was wrong with the hotel. Now on to the best part. I guess there was a staff member in training, who had no clue on how to handle the situation. So, I go to the front desk and inform them of the "little" issue and what I'm assuming was the trainee, basically shrugged it off as if to say, 'so what'. As I mentioned, there was someone there at the desk who understood the issue and summoned the day manager. We talked and he made a note. The expediency in which the issue was resolved was a pleasant suprise. I do have to say, that the highlight of the night was being able to watch the playoffs in the sports bar with a couple of other guys there on business. Will I ever stay at this property again. Let's hope not. There needs to be some serious changes before I consider this again. Collapse
