Stayed here as part of airport parking. Hotel generally seems clean and tidy. Not very clear where to park and plenty of signs warning you that you have to pay, but we didn’t have to. Room was on the small side, but ok for one night. Beds are really firm, so not the best nights sleep. Shower seemed to run out of hot water so my partner had to go without a shower in the morning (luckily had one the night before). Wasn’t asked about my stay at check out so didn’t raise any issues at the time. Collapse

Have stayed here on business and pleasure over the years but there's plenty more to pick instead of this hotel. It's the only one I know in all my stays that never gives Spire members access to the lounge. I prefer my own choice of drink anyway and we spent over £80 on drinks & bar food, but I think it's poor for all the money I spend and have done for 15 years IHG membership. The club room pillows were like boulders, the windows sound like they're open with traffic noise outside but they're not and the bed was so hard that I now have back ache for a 9 hour flight so that made the decision for me, even Premier Inns these days are better! On checking in the receptionist was difficult to understand as her English was heavily accented and she didn’t appear to enjoy her job. We had to pay £10 to park in their car park overnight! As we unpacked I saw a big cobweb in the corner of the room. Then we noticed a wardrobe hanger sticking out of the air con unit high on the wall! The final surprise was a piece of cardboard sticking out of the ceiling light. It proved to be the key cover of the guests who stayed the previous night! It clearly showed the date. Fire hazard or what??!! I took photos and spoke to the Duty Manager who did offer us a room change. We declined as we had unpacked and she said she would inform housekeeping and that they would both come to inspect the room. Housekeeping came and was surprised but rectified the problems. We did not see the Duty Manager again! I tried to ring both reception and housekeeping before I went to reception to complain but neither department had answered the phone! Next morning as I put the shower curtain in the bath as requested by a notice on the wall, it brushed against one of the chrome shower figments which promptly fell off the wall! On checking out I advised the receptionist who just smiled at me and told another receptionist to call maintenance. The service recovery was nil. Even if they had just offered us a free drink at the bar we would have felt we mattered to them. My husband is a Gold Elite member of this Hotel chains loyalty scheme and he has complained to them. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean Collapse

Not luxury anymore but fantastic value, comfort and service before using Gatwick airport. Search their site for overnight/parking deals that are hard to match anywhere else. Very convenient (10 minutes from check-in) and rooms have everything you want - comfortable bed, tea/coffee, v. Good en suite facilities, TV etc. Food options also excellent: choose the Cube bar/lounge or full a la cartel in Cube restaurant. Prices and quality more than acceptable. This will certainly be our first option for all future pre or post Gatwick airport stays. Collapse
