The hotel is definitely 5/5 for business people, who don't spend days in a row in the room. I rated it 4/5, due to the experience we had as a couple of honeymooners. Everything was top notch, very friendly and helpful staff, amazing room. Two things we personally didn't like. First, the window didn't open, and AC in the room wasn't helping with fresh air. As the result, we had a headache nearly every morning. Wouldn't be a problem, though, if we weren't staying in the rooms for days straight. Second, the temperature kept dropping during the night. We had to call 4 times in 8 days to have them raise it back. As the result, we had to stay in the room one day because we simply felt sick-ish. Otherwise, absolutely lovely place! Collapse

When I arrived it had been a long and stressful day travelling and the staff were very welcoming instantly. They helped us with anything needed. The hotel itself is beautiful and the sea view room was amazing. In view of the helipad and it was so lovely to sit by the window and watch the helicopters come in over the Thames at night. The food was delicious when we ordered from the room service. For what you are getting, the price is worth it. The only problem was the location was a bit difficult to get too but once it we figured out the closest train station it wasn't so bad but it was annoying at night after a long day of walking, we wanted to just get back to the hotel straight away but it was about a 15/20 minutes walk from the train station. Decent stay for the price

The location is a bit difficult with no trains or tube close by. The hotel itself is in a patchy neighbourhood hidden behind building and neighbour of the London helipad. So while its nice to see helicopters land and take off, the noise in the common areas like restaurants, open spaces can get to you. The rooms are double glazed, so the noise is not a bother. The rooms have a nice river view, but aim for the higher floors. The staff are friendly and nice and the breakfast is pretty good. The chef at breakfast was very friendly. Given its location, the hotel has a shuttle drop to Clapham Junction on the hour every hour till 4 pm. But its only till 4 pm and there is no pick up. Furthermore, getting to central London from CP is a bit of a pain. We did not try the restaurant for other meals or the spa, so cannot comment. The room itself felt quite cramped and the colour scheme and drapes made it even more so. The bed was ok and the bathroom is nicely laid out with a bathtub and separate shower area. The housekeeping could have been better and the carpet and drapes seem to hold a lot of dust which can trigger allergies as it did for us. Overall decent for the price, but would not stay here again. To be fair, this is a really nice hotel and i am sure if my room was up to standard I'm sure we would have enjoyed our trip that little bit more. Unfortunately form me a few things let the Crowne Plaza Battersea down. As you will see, its little things that by itself i would have easily overlooked but for a one night stay and so much to be wrong with a hotel of this level it definitely put a damper on our stay. Walking in it felt impressive, nice atmosphere and friendly staff ready to greet you as you come in the door. Check-in was a breeze and we were promptly shown to our room, one of the River Suites. The corridors are dimly lit, but in a more romantic rather than creepy way, upon walking into the room there was loads of natural light, modern decor and they even had a welcome treat for us (1 year anniversary). After the obligatory look inside every cupboard routine we had a knock at the door and before I could take 2 steps this lady let herself in to our room, unfortunately my wife was changing at the time and had to dart for cover!! She asked if everything was OK with the room at which point we inquired about the key for the balcony doors. The hotel have a "locked balcony policy" and staff will open it upon request keeping the key, you have to call downstairs to do this.... kind of strange, but OK. Soon after we started to notice certain little things were not quite as it should be, the cream carpets were riddled with stains, i did bring it to the hotels attention however it was the last river view suite they had left and i was not going to sacrifice such a beautiful view for the stains. The light switches, the ones that were not missing button (see pics), was a confusing set up in itself where each panel had a number of buttons that controlled what seemed to be a random selection of lights. I was pleased to see a full sized iron and ironing board however :D The bathroom was like the rest of the suite well decorated, there was no loud boiler gurgles wen using the hot water and unlike another hotel we stayed at in the are, hot water was available at all times. Unfortunately they have opted to turn the bathroom TV's into mirrors now (see pics) ah well, the bath plug also couldn't be raised/lowered with the knob on the tub and instead you had to pull it out and push it back in by hand. The kitchen area was well stocked with tea and coffee and ample space in the fridge for a few bottles of your favourite tipple. Room service was quick and the food came hot, all staff members bar the first lady that came to our room were polite, asked if they could come in before steeping in the door and always tried to fulfill any request we had. (Like sending someone up to fix the phone because it didn't work and we had to order room service from the bathroom phone!) Like i said, it is a gorgeous hotel with amazing views, the staff are great and the potential our room had was easily seen, with a little TLC and finishing touches you couldn't fault it! Collapse

PROS: -STAFF: The staff are very accommodating and friendly. When we checked in, they upgraded our room for free because we had booked with them for several days in a row. Also, Eleanora, who works in the restaurant/breakfast buffet is exceptional! She always greeted us with a smile and was fun to chat with. On our last day, she came out and gave me a big hug goodbye! She definitely made our experience at the hotel that much more special. -LOCATION: The location was perfect for us. Not in the thick of London, but close enough that it was easy to get to the downtown areas easily. This meant that we could tour around by day, but at night it was quiet. Also, when we felt like getting away from the crowds, we would take a walk on the boardwalk that runs along the Thames and enjoy the scenery. A bonus is Bread Centrale, which is located on the boardwalk and only a few steps away from the Crowne Plaza - the food there is excellent and not too expensive! -AMENITIES: I definitely can't complain about all of the extras offered with this hotel! A free shuttle to the nearest train station, Clapham Junction, was so helpful to us, we used it every day. From Clapham Junction, you can get pretty much anywhere! I wish I had brought my bathing suit because their spa was incredible (I peeked), and the breakfast buffet was to die for! My boyfriend and I really resented our first breakfast back home because it wasn't nearly as good ;). My boyfriend also used their gym too and said that it had everything a person could need. -ROOM: Spacious, clean, and luxurious! Initially, we were worried that we'd be able to hear the helicopters landing next door, but the rooms must be sound-proofed because we couldn't hear a thing! CONS: The only real con for us was that the door to the elevator area on the 5th floor (where we stayed) slammed every time someone went through it. This would wake us up often, especially in the early morning when the cleaning staff were constantly coming and going. Collapse
