We stayed here for one night as a present from our friend for my fiancé's birthday, as we'd been to see a Chelsea FC game earlier that day. We arrived at around 7pm and went to the reception desk where we were checked in by a lady who did not make us feel very welcome at all. She seemed miserable and almost looked down at us. This had put a negative stance on our day, but we thought we would go to our room to relax before going down to dinner. At dinner, my fiancé had ordered the steak. Our waiter asked him how he would like his steak cooked, and in reply he asked for it rare. The waiter then turned round and told my fiancé he could not have his steak rare as it would ruin the steak. We found this incredibly rude, although we understand the waiter was trying to give advice about the steak, you do not tell someone they cannot have their food a certain way - especially when we paid £85 for two courses each and three soft drinks. This was a further disappointment and really put a dampener on our day. The room was absolutely stunning and the staff the next morning where faultless. Collapse

I stayed at the hotel with a spa treatment included. I had a very relaxing massage and the spa facilities was up to date and clean. My room was cosy, I got upgraded from a standard room (for a small fee) to a larger suite with a walk in large bathroom but it was well worth it. My stay also had a complimentary 2-course dinner which was tasty..only thing is my dish was alittle too oily for me but otherwise good. Breakfast had a very good selection also. Overall I loved my stay and I would definitely be making a return visit. Collapse

Visited here for the night whilst watching the NFL in London. The hotel is beautiful. Extremely clean and very well presented. Pulled up outside to unload our bags and check in to which I left my keys with reception for them to take my car away and park in there safe underground car park for £15 a day. We arrived earl and Ali (who was amazing) found us a room that was ready so we could check in early and get freshened us before heading to the game. The room was huge and had everything we needed. Amazing bathroom and facilities, huge tv, one of the biggest beds I've ever stayed in and great tea, coffee and water etc. Beautiful terrace bar. Trying station is 10 mins walk away and Chelsea is 20 mins walk. Loads of bars and restaurants in Battersea 5 mins walk away. Left our car there after checkout the next day until that night to which they brought it to the door for me. The staff can not do enough for you!!! All together a beautiful hotel with great rooms and amazing staff. 100% recommend. Collapse

When I entered the hotel, the staff were very welcoming and informative. They explained about my room, my breakfast and told me for any further information not to hesitate in contacting them. On entering the room, I was taken back by the smart, professional and clean presentation of the high standard room. Everything was clean and tidy and easy to find and work out all the controls. Lights were a little difficult to work out, but sorted, as was the shower. Breakfast was first class and having coeliac disease, all my questions were answered and nothing was any effort from front of house to the chef. The hotel is a little hidden from the main road, but this added to the peaceful setting, with lovely river views. It is well situated to enjoy the local nightlife in Battersea, just being a 10 minute walk from pubs and a wide selection of eateries. Will definitely stay there again, given the opportunity Collapse

I was a frequent guest at the old Hotel Verta, now converted into a Crowne Plaza. I was curious to go back and see if the latter kept up the place as beautifully as the Rhombus Group that managed the Verta. The answer is of course "no", as Rhombus hotels are high luxury, 5 -star hotels. This being said, the Crowne Plaza remains very nice. The Spa is beautifully maintained, and a welcome amenity after a hard day of work or tourism. The massage wasn't that great, but still ok. What stroke me most, however, is the friendliness of the staff. I arrived too early, so my room wasn't ready. I was allowed to relax in the spa while waiting the few hours. After I was done, I checked if my room was ready; it still wasn't. But then they decided to give me an upgrade to a top floor suite, which was very nice. I didn't really need such a big suite (two bedrooms, one living room, two bathrooms, etc.) as I was there overnight by myself. (It also took me a long time to figure out how the light switches worked.) The suite had obvious signs of wear and tear (something that would never happened at the Hotel Verta), the television at the foot of the bad tub had been removed, etc. In short, it wasn't the absolute luxury that I had been used to before. But it was nonetheless very, very nice, with a balcony overlooking the Thames. The one drawback with this Crowne Plaza -- which is probably the reason why the Rhombus Group let go of it -- is its location. It is far from central London, and now there is no longer the shuttle to central London. In and of itself, it remains a nice place because it is right on the Thames, and its fun to look at the helicopters come and go at the heliport next door; but there is very little to do in the immediate neighborhood. It is good if you are the type to retire to your room once your day is done; but if you like to go back out at night, it isn't. Unless you are ready to pay twice 30BP for a cab. The hotel restaurant is good, with a very nice terrace on the Thames. So you can stay and have dinner at the hotel. But overall, I'd say it is a good place. Collapse
