I booked this hotel room directly thru the website. I was able to use my corporate discount and saved money. We took the ferry in from Marco Island and arrived at noon. We weren't able to get an early check in at that time, so the hotel allowed us to change into our bathing suits and held our luggage. We went to the pool bar and had some drinks while waiting for our room. The bartender Jordan was amazing. She was so helpful advising on the best spots to check out. We spent a few hours conversing with Jordan then checked with the front desk to see if our room was ready. It was! 2 hours early. We went to get our luggage that was being held from Mario and Alex. Those two gentlemen were by far my favorite part of the hotel. Always smiling and happy to help. This hotel is located in a great area! Walgreens and CVS is right around the corner. Coffee and Tea was available in the lobby area each morning. We asked for a late check out. The hotel allowed us to check out at noon and that was helpful as our ferry didn't leave until 5:00. Again Mario and Alex held our luggage and all the shopping bags I continued to gather. Overall, I was very happy with the hotel, staff and the location. I would certainly go back and recommend to others. Collapse
Caution - Consider Other Lodging Options

First time visiting Key West and arrived at La Concha and the front desk said we had no reservation for which we had paid one night's deposit two months previously. Made us feel like idiots. When we got home forwarded our confirmation letter, hopefully we will get our money back. If I knew that Key West had many other lodging options I should have switched then and there. The staff did get us one night's lodging at the Pier House, and then we had to return for the remainder of our stay at the La Concha. Thoroughly wasting hours of our vacation. Here are some other issues/considerations to be aware of for an expensive accomodation: Staff was friendly but hard to communicate with (language barrier) Room was noisy Found bug in bathroom Industrial flush toilet in bathroom; shower curtain cleanliness questionable? Gave managers an option to talk about these issues, but was never contacted? One of two elevators was broke for 9 floors Workout room had 3 treadmills, 3 ellitpticals (no other weights) Overall, a generally bad experience, but I guess IHG and La Concha can get away this with this level of customer service? Now in hindsight and looking at other reviews "is there something going on with reservation system"? Don't be deceived by the short glowing reviews. One should research the quality of this hotel for the price. Collapse
Don't Stay Here!

My husband and I stayed here on March 23, 2017 and March 24, 2017. Before and during our stay, my credit card company notified me three times that the hotel was putting a hold on my account for three different charge amounts (approximately $500 each time). Three days after paying the bill of $931.16 (for two nights) there is still a hold of over $577 on my credit card bill. I called the hotel and spoke to "Rose" or "Rosa" three times trying to explain the situation. She did not want to help and transferred me twice to accounting/finance (no one answered and the voice mailbox was full so no message could be left). The third time I asked to speak to her supervisor and she AGAIN transferred me to the black hole where no message could be left. I then called back a fourth time (she said each time that I had not spoken with her even though I recognized her accent and her NAME!). I finally asked for someone to call me back, which a gentleman did and explained that the hotel did put a hold on my card for $577+ more than my bill, but could do nothing about it. The representative said that the credit card company will release the hold in a week or two. I am not happy that the hotel overcharged my credit card in the first place (I realize they need a deposit but this amount was outrageous). Rose or Rosa could have done that same thing but she was more interested in passing the buck. To sum it up, the only good thing about this hotel is the location. The service is the worst, the rooms are small, cups and glasses are plastic/Styrofoam, you have to have ice delivered (a tip is expected), there are no vending machines anywhere in the hotel, and you have to pay $26/day for valet to park your car 20 feet from the front door of the hotel (in their adjacent parking lot). This hotel is all about ripping the customer off, not customer service and no amenities for the high price (we paid almost $1,000 for two nights for a small room). To top it all off, about 45 minutes before 11:00 a.m. (checkout time) housekeeping stopped by just to make sure we were up and checking out (the woman had a clipboard and asked if we were checking out that morning, but I'm certain she was making a statement, not asking a question). I suggest that you stay anywhere but here. We will never go back. Collapse

A partial refund was offered, but doesn't begin to compensate for the physical, emotional, and financial suffering experienced. Key West is great, but find another hotel. Collapse

We booked this hotel online as a treat for ourselves with another couple. We decided to stay an extra night and tried to do online, no luck. Called, almost an hour later were assured we had the booking, called the next day to confirm as it was all very confusing. Upon arrival the booking was messed up and after more time spent they finally got it kinda sorted, different rooms but honoured the booking. Both of our rooms were situated at the end of the hallway and neither of us were able to get a good connection. We complained, manager was to call us, never did. We asked to see him next day and he wasn't too concerned or helpful. Rooms were also disappointing for the price. Staff were friendly. Collapse
