We spent a significant number of rewards points as well as cash in order to stay at this hotel. Aside from the front desk employees who were excellent, this was not a good hotel stay. The hotel employees gave us a helpful piece of paper with bus information for going into city center Dublin. This helped us greatly on our journey to and from Dublin. Also, the desk employees were friendly and efficient. The problems we had strictly had to do with the room quality; thus only the greedy corporate owner has control of investment in room quality and thus they are the ones we blame. It should be noted that I wrote a detailed review for the rewards program in which Crowne participates, and they rejected it, saying that I had referenced other hotel names. This was a flat-out lie. Moreover, the link they sent me to "correct" my review did not work so you are dealing with a dodgy company. As far as the room, the decor was cheesy and dated. More importantly, the lighting in the bathroom was horrendous. The ONLY lighting was four TINY tea candle-sized lights on the CEILING, hardly enough lighting to see one's face properly in the mirror. Oddly enough, they provided one of those makeup mirrors, but without adequate lighting, what was the point? Since when does a hotel room not provide lighting right above the mirror, projecting directly on to the mirror and of a very intense quality?! The tiles on the floor looked ancient and frankly gross with age. (Housekeeping did as good a job as anyone could with this dated bathroom and guest room.) The room featured three chairs, all of which were upholstered in fabric. In this day and age of bedbugs, I have no idea why they are using FABRIC. The fabric of the desk chair was gross-looking, it was so old. Another gross thing is that they insist on using "decorative" pillows and a "decorative" piece of fabric over the bedding. Clearly, these are not washed and they should not be on the bed or in the room anywhere. This is a hygienic issue. Housekeeping has enough to do without having to rearrange these gaudy "decorative" touches. Why aren't a duvet cover and regular pillows enough? Speaking of the washable bedding, it was super uncomfortable to me. It felt like not 100% cotton. If it was cotton, it was of a horrible quality. I do not honestly know why this hotel has such a high ranking on TA. People must not have high standards or maybe they are easily impressed. We will not stay at this hotel in the future nor would I recommend it to anyone with a sense of quality. Collapse

The hotel has a free shuttle to the airport. It is only about 10 minutes to the airport. The staff was friendly and the room was comfortable. There is a restaurant and coffee shop at the hotel. There is a nice park across the street from the hotel. We actually took a 20 minute walk to ALDI (grocery store). There is also a good Italian Restaurant close by. It was easy to get to the hotel by bus from central Dublin. Oh, if you need to weigh your luggage the Holiday Inn Express next-door to the Crowne Plaza has a scale but it charges one euro. Collapse

Great extra touches with complimentary water, biscuits and tea/coffee making facilities as well as towling bath robe. Wifi throughout the hotel complex. Good choice of restaurants for lunch/dinner and good selection at breakfast. Parking available 6euro for 24 hours. Free shuttle to/from Dublin Airport which takes about 5 minutes. The best Dublin Airport hotel that I've stayed in. Collapse
