This hotel is in a excellent location for exploring Coogee. Hotel offers a mini bus transfer from the airport with prior arrangement around $25 for 2 people. Taxi will cost $40/$45. Getting into the City Centre /Circular Quay is around the same price in a taxi cheaper in a Uber but you can pick a bus up right outside that takes you right into the city. Hotel and rooms have everything you would need for a relaxing stay, my room 518 had two big double beds a balcony with lovely views over the pool and the beach and Coogee. Towels, hairdryers, soap, shampoo and conditioner provided. This is a older hotel so needs some touching up around the edges but this is not a major issue. The simple thing that let this Hotel down was two things 1) The service in the main restaurant was really poor, one evening took over 15mins once seated to be even given menu's or water. Breakfast is self service but didn't matter what time we came down there was always something either no glasses for juice, spoons for tea or gluten free bread. On the plus side food was always nice and great to have a made to order egg section. 2) Lovely pool with sun beds, beach towels and umbrella's with fantastic views over the beach. But no pool service to get a drink or food. When asked the hotel they said you had to order room service then get them to deliver at the pool. But to do this you had to go to your room to use the phone. An idea would be to put a phone by the pool or just inside with the towels so you can order. Collapse

I write this as lay in bed on my final night is this wonderful country. Having arrived in Sydney in an early morning flight I knew in the back of my mind that a room would not be ready. It is the summer season after all. After two days of traveling I was keen to freshen up and change my clothes. I was given use of the shower room which was greatly appreciated. To kill some time I went for some proper food down the road at Bell & Anchor. Upon returning my room was ready and I was not disappointed. The room was spacious and clean. Any issues that I did have were addressed immediately. Use of the WiFi as a IHG Member was appreciated due mobile data speeds restricted to 3G by my provider. For traveling about the local area and further make sure to pick up an Opal Card, which is a rechargeable travel card, this will let you travel on the Buses, Trains and Ferries. This will save you quite a bit of money instead of getting taxis. In summary I could not fault this hotel. Collapse

We stayed in the presidential suite during the weekend of our wedding and were blown away by the views but left slightly disappointed by the dated fixtures and fittings. We are very familiar with this hotel as live locally and encourage friends or family visiting to stay here. It's a well run hotel and really have no complaints. The presidential suite has tremendous views overlooking the beach and wedding cake island with stunning sunrises to greet you in the morning. It's a spacious apartment style set up with joint living and dining area, two bathrooms and a large spacious bedroom with walk in wardrobes. The finer detail is lacking in this room unfortunately. I read a previous review that the fixtures and fittings are dated and I concur. They look dated and the gold enamel has worn off the taps etc and the soap dish (hopefully has now been replaced) in the shower kept falling off the wall. The fridge we were advised was complimentary but did not get re-stocked during out stay which is disappointing but not a big deal as the view simply cleared your mind and any negatives as soon as you stepped onto the sprawling balcony. Service was great from room dining service to providing buckets of ice for our bubbly. The room was cleaned at our request. The pool area is ideal but they still have an issue with kids from the street running up and using the pool from the beer garden entrance of oceans. To be fair if I lived locally as a kid I would have done exactly the same. Don't blame them but for those seeking solitude or not wanting to worry about non guests shattering their peace then it would be handy if they resolved the issues. Great stay for us and the room provided a memorable place to reflect on our big weekend. Collapse

Took me a while to write this review but this hotel was my first stop in Australia. Loved my stay, my room had a awesome beach view! But the hotel took me by suprise because it was really busy. The concierge told me everything I need to know about Sydney, who was the one who greeted me from my cab, checked me in and help me take the bags up to my room right after check in. Talk about personalised service! If I could recall the staff name... I think his name was Jason.. If I'm not mistaken. If my new yorkers ever come across this message y'all gotta try this spot!
