Travelling with teenagers, we arrived in the afternoon and had an hour in the excellent "Octopus" swimming pool which doubles as an attractive event space. The gym is a good size for a hotel with a range of cardio machines. The hotel is in a nice neighbourhood, next door to the park and a place where you feel safe to wander. We had lunch at the nearby at the Colmar Restaurant which is just 200 yds away and offers a great buffet for all ages. The hotel reception staff were extremely helpful in giving us guidance on travel into the centre of Antwerp. It's a 5 minute walk to catch the frequent Bus 22 (€3/person/hour) which takes around 15 minutes to reach the centre of Antwerp and the main tourist areas. You can also catch the tram to the central station. If you get time take the lift to the top floor of the hotel where you can find a telescope to look out over the city. Our room was very well presented and we had a very good nights sleep. Collapse

The hotel is conveniently situated- it's easy to get to from the highway and if you want to use public transport, it takes only 15 minutes by bus line 17 to reach Antwerp central station. You are offered a wide choice for breakfasts and the restaurant serves delicious meals ( steaks and mussels highly recommended). The only downside could be the noise - it's better to ask for a quiet room on upper floor Collapse

Uninteresting large hotel on an uninteresting location near the highway. Easy to reach by car, but way out of the city center. Bus stop in front of the hotel (each 15 minutes/Euro 3,00) to the central train station. Your car can be parked for free on the road, but you also can put it on the hotel parking (Euro 17,00; we parked on Saturday and did not have to pay). Rooms are in bad need of renovation. The good news is that renovation is on the way. The lower floors 2 and 3 are now ready. We were able to choice between a renovated superior (21m2) and a old deluxe. In the renovated room, the old carpet was replaced by wooden flooring. The pastel wall color was changed into a large picture of Antwerp. But furthermore it still felt old with old doors (to be replaced later) and the old bathroom (Bathtub with irritating shower curtain). Not impressed. Soon the 4th and 5th floor will be ready and the bathroom is new with walk in shower. Better! But renovations is going slow and not too much care and effort is taken into it. We still did go for the slightly larger (25m2) deluxe room on an upper 12th floor. Views are wide but not that impressive. First we tried a room on the highway side. Too much noise. Rooms are not well isolated. You will not only hear the traffic, but also your neighbors. At least on the other site, no traffic noise. Room was made up for just one person (bathrobe etc.), but we did not bother asking housekeeping to correct this. Breakfast was basic. No fresh orange juice. Not many options nearby on Sunday morning. Not worth the price if you have to pay for it separately, so find a good package deal. We did enjoy the pool area. Good size pool, nice water temperature, modern and fresh design. The best feature of this hotel. The overall best experience was with receptionist Wendy. She was very kind and patient, showing us all room options available. Top! Collapse
